D’souza has not only one of the most irritating voices of all time, he also talks utter nonsense whilst trying to sound intelligent by using long words. He’s not fooling anyone. Hitch is on a completely different level - frankly is a mauling and embarrassing. Hitch was an absolute treasure to humanity. I miss him.

Hillary’s life has been scrutinized for years, 11 hours of questioning over Bengali, every opportunity to examine her when she was First Lady, when she was Secretary of State and confronted Putin aggressively face to face. I never hear whatever most of American has decided makes her an unsuitable presidential candidate. Her biggest short coming is she is a woman. America could not come to terms with that. Other things that added to Trumps success was Comeys unexplainable decision to make this announcement. “While there is nothing chargeable on her emails we thought you should know FBI looked.” Plus there is no mention of the actions Putin took to affect our election. And all the Russian connections to Trump are never talked about. We ended up with Trump. And we may again. I am an old woman. The immaturity these guys display is concerning. Do not misunderstand. I support Sam Harris. He is a voice of sanity in our very troubled state of mind in America. And a vote for JFK is a vote for Trump! Scary!

Sharpton is engaging in two fallacies: a non-sequitur fallacy and an argument from ignorance fallacy. First, a non-sequitur is when a person makes a claim and then skips to a conclusion without using evidence to link the claim and conclusion together. For example, a theist will say "The world exists, therefore it had to have been created by God." They cannot demonstrate that a God came down from above and created the world. They can make claims it happened and conclude it happened, but it's non-demonstrable. Second, an argument from ignorance fallacy is when someone asserts that just because something is not currently explained by science, that it must be attributed to a supernatural cause. Basically, the person who is making the claim who carries the burden of proof is wrongly shifting the burden of proof on to the person when they have no evidence to verify their claim. Fallacies are antithetical to truth. Thereby, Sharpton's position is based on a logical fallacy that presents illogical argument with no evidence.

It think the title of this video misrepresents the topic of the debate. It was not “What best explains reality?”, though Turek has ever since claimed that it was. It’s my understanding that the announced topic was “Does God exist?”. Unfortunately, the moderator failed to mention the topic of the debate in the recorded introduction. There is a huge difference between the two topics, since “Does God Exist” does not give Hitchens a burden of proof. If anyone has documentation showing the previously announced topic I’d like to see it.

  • @azrielsmith3167

This comment section is largely an echo chamber of confirmation bias. Sharpton maintained a valid point throughout that Hitchens never addressed the actual argument. Hitchens embodies the true definition of sophistry in how he bumbles around the argument, meandering into one of his canned jokes about this or that Bible story which he recycles in each of his debates; ever evading the crux of the issue. While Hitchens is enjoyable to listen to from a rhetorical perspective, that is the sum total of his skill set which is to sound competent and convincing. When you pick apart his babbling, there is no coherency or consistency in his argumentation which I think should be obvious to any objective party but clearly is not to his fan-base.

I am the product of education in the state of Tennessee where the word "evolution" couldn't be spoken. Luckily, I went to college, where evolution and other ideas were studied with joy. I also learned that I have four impacted wisdom teeth. Whyever would God put too many teeth in my jaw? Perhaps he miscounted.
