For 99% of people and use cases, the Ally X is your best bet. The go only beats it in screen size (not quality) and the fact that you can remove the controllers (if that's even important for you). Most, if not all the downsides of the ally that are mentioned in this video are fixed on the Ally X. Just my two cents, at the end of the day, you do you and just get whichever you personally think is better for you.

God I love my psp go. I still remember being given this just to be told it’s download only. I had no internet so this was very annoying and sad to have to deal with. But today? Today my psp go has its own dedicated router, it’s jailbroken, has no memory at the moment since it’s full of all the games I used to demo. And I even have a battery and SD adapter waiting for a power armor mod to come in the mail so I can put them in the new shell. I freaking love this thing now.
@theprophet942821 күн бұрын
I think the one thing that takes priority is having a screen with normal/average proportions. The screen should be so good you can’t stop staring at it. It should be touch like the vita. Internal memory should come with 32 gbs. It just would not make sense to have less unless you plan on bringing back some kind of handheld physical media like we did with UMD’s. Personally I think UMD is dead in the water if it’s download only it would be fine with an SD Card reader slot. iPhones are everywhere and wifi is easy enough to find. As long as you can connect to wifi with any security type unlike my psp go who cannot recognize more modern wifi security we should be fine downloading things Battery life should give minimum 5 hours of gameplay. 5 hours is the average amount of time people actually have to themselves after they’re done with work. I think it should be removable for easy upgrade in the case someone needs more battery life or so we can all be fine knowing our psp wont be dying at the end of everyday Buttons. I think they should be modular the same way the PS5 Edge controller analog sticks are but focusing on the front panel buttons and analog sticks. Should fit flush as if you can’t even remove them. Streaming capabilities. We had fun apps like a comics launcher/radios/etc., but with streaming as big as it is now it’s probably never been easier to open an app and start watching your favorite shows. I’m sure cross device will be enabled. Allowing you to stream games from your PS4/PS5 directly to your psp. A camera??? Do we really need cameras on a psp? Personally I don’t think so. Our phones do a well enough job on that end and I don’t really see many people opting to purchase a psp handheld console for its picture taking capabilities although keep a photos folder is not a bad idea. Design. I like how the psp consoles all kind of keep the same shape but I felt like they downgraded when they introduced the VITA. It looked too “Nintendo” instead of the cold futuristic early 2000’s feel I get from Sony products and I love it. I think the street looks amazing and what I believe the vita should have looked more like. But keeping the next psp the same size would allow people to continue using older/retro accessories that you can’t get anymore like stands or cases which are designed with specific proportions. Control buttons: Power, WiFi, volume, mute, screen brightness. Now hear me out. While it sounds like a nightmare I still love my FAT PS3 and I love the sensor touch power and eject buttons which are engraved into the console. I think it would be nice if these control functions were sensor touch instead of buttons. If they make it feel responsive enough it would be a pleasure to have instead of buttons. This is my own personal opinion and I know this probably won’t be popular as it would be difficult to feel out what you’re trying to do while you’re gaming but I don’t really like to change these controls while I’m playing or busy so sensor touch buttons would look cleaner and feel good if combined with good response. In reality keeping them physical buttons would make it easier for people to feel what they’re doing and mess with once jailbroken and homebrew/plugins are releasing. Besides that I can’t really think of anything else I’d like to see in a psp. It’s a multi media device with a focus on gaming. It’s basically how all kids-young adults use iPhones. Let its use reflect that.

One other Vita misstep that not a lot of people know about is, surprisingly, its Call of Duty title. Like how the DS and 3DS (I think) got CoD ports, even if they were kinda different, it seems Activision was gonna switch over to the Vita because, in theory, it could handle getting full ports rather than a compromised version made specifically for it. CoD Black Ops Declassified is the name of the Vita title. But originally, it was going to be a port of Black Ops II. Unfortunately, it went through development hell and had to be rehashed at the last minute. Activision never tried again after that due to the console’s sinking popularity at the time. I strongly think if this port was successfully made, possibly with PS3 Crossbuy/Crossplay/Cross-progression support, and was heavily advertised (perhaps as a console bundle,) Blops II could’ve saved the console by selling it like hot cakes

I recently got a legion go open box on ebay. Overall its a cool device and there are things i like about it. The screen is gorgeous, the high resolution and refresh rate are great for less demanding games, and the detachable controllers with fps mode is a neat gimmick. People have said the speakers are bad, and while they're not great, they're more than serviceable. Unfortunately performance has been kind of disappointing. Games don't run as consistently as the Steam Deck, the battery life is pretty bad, and windows on a handheld is not a great experience. Honestly I've had a better experience with the Steam Deck, both the original LCD unit i had and then traded for my OLED model. Sure the Deck is not as powerful as these devices, but its more than capable. And it maintains good performance on lower tdp, resulting in longer play sessions. With the LeGo, i fire up a game and then an hour later I'm having to reach for my charger. Not to mention unfortunately the Legion Space software is pretty mediocre compared to Steam OS. The Deck was easier to navigate and set up than the LeGo. And i hate having to say that because i really wanted to like the LeGo. The hardware is actually really nice, and feels premium. Can't say much about the Ally, because i don't have one. But the fact it was frying people's SD cards deterred me from trying it. Though I've heard Asus's armory crate is actually pretty good, and Asus has been on point with updates, especially compared to Lenovo with the Go. Even if the device does look like a cheap Chinese knock off. Maybe if the Rog Ally X is a substantial improvement hardware wise, I'll trade my LeGo in for it. But i don't see myself parting with my OLED Deck. The Steam Deck has been really good for me. The fact that i just bought Ghost of Tsushima and can play it at near 60 fps is great. And i don't have to be plugged in.
