In modern MMA takedown threat should always be present. This isn't boxing or kick boxing.

I used to have it. It was so bad it wouldnt even work on PlayStation. It would just time out , non functional. They also have the ufc mislabeled constantly on xfinity. I see the ufc moving to Netflix if they’re successful with the Paul vs Tyson fight.

Islam is not khabib in the grappling department much like khabib is not like Islam in the striking. Islam is the more complete fighter but khabib is by far the better more dominant skilled grappler. So much so that he was able to get away with being almost one dimensional. (Yes I know khabib was developing his other skills later on in his career)

No chance Doaz fights Luque. The man does not want to fight any longer, he only wants the big pop. Camt we get him to an expo, or something? Same for Tony. Michael Chiesa will KO Ferguson. Chiesa is flail-y sloppy, and he hill crack Tony with some outta nowhere, partially intentional knee-thing and put his lights clean out again. UFC hates that motherfucker for absolutely no reason. To think they gave him a deak one time.

Makhachev vs Poirier just showed how good Khabib really was , he literally finished Poirier with ease and no damage taken . 😂 Khabib's wrestling & grappling & pressure was different and unique.

VERY NICE VID!for me the best fighter would be some1 that can do evrything at a really good level such as kicking, grabbing, take downs, locks, boxing, striking . Cuz if some1 is really good at one thing u can disturb them or keep them busy creating opportunities with other Techniques. But If youre just gonna stand and throw punches.. i mean cman this is MMA... You gotta have different strategies if your plan isn't working out you should have a plan B , C , D , etc and if you dont then mayb youre not a good overall fighter🤔?

Difference between islam & khabib is simple Islam is well rounded, good everywhere but gives you a room to touch him, have a breathing space & to execute your game plan & even win, Khabib doesn't give you anything, its you either go through him & make it chaotic or he'll just pressure you, weaponized his cardio and take you down & famously 'smesh' you Islam takes his time to set up a submission khabib doesn't play that game, he would simply force you to make mistake while setting you up for nasty submission & if you don't oblige you'll just be 'smeshed' either till ref stops the fight or get your limb broken or go to snooze land either willingly or unwillingly I haven't talk about their grip & squeeze strength I believe when khabib said these lightweighters are not on my level not a single one...well his record in the octagon says hes not lying. I'm gonna make a bold prediction, if islam fights tsarukyan next, arman will be a much difficult fight for islam more than even poirier & i can see tsarukyan outgrappling islam, hes stronger than makachev and if he can manage to keep his cardio for five rounds, he might slip in a split decision to defeat islam if not islam will ko him or submits coz tsarukyan doesn't play safe & is not afraid of islam's wrestling and grappling & that would leave him vulnerable to islam's striking I'm more convinced that islam's striking is elite considering not only throwing the combination but also his defensive skillset standing up is top notch ...look at how he slips and weaves and immediately throw 2s & 3s where your hand is out of position after throwing and missing

I wish I could be more excited with Islam a d how good he is. Idk, it's true that MMA shows what style is best. Clearly the world's best wrestler versus the world's best striker, the wrestler wins 9/10 times, but it's kinda boring and I think your average Joe blo can't get hyped for how good he is at laying down and giving a masterclass in grappling, but still...it's LAYING DOWN...

His opponents always had a hard time implementing their offense against him. We can partly credit it on his takedown threat but like you Luke, I also think there's more to it than that. Charles post fight claimed he 'wasn't himself', we saw him hesitant on the feet; in Perth we saw Volk unable to establish his jabs and next time they fought Volk post-fight said for some reason he couldn't get his offense going. This time Poirier tried to describe Islam's style after his loss and it sounded interesting ... he said like Khabib, Islam has a 'weird rhythm' on the standup. I think that's it, Dustin nailed it in the head.. Islam's rhythm on the feet is hard to read and his changing levels is only a part of it. I've watched you Luke touch on it on one of your breakdowns.. Islam can quickly shift his rhythm to step into his opponents half count, so he can fire a shot in between their motions. Do you think or have you observe him doing the same shift off-rhythm to his opponents even when not on attack mode? Islam's movements look a bit more heavy in 302 unlike his usual and Dustin is very in tuned to reading his opponents because of his boxing tendencies.. so maybe that 'weird' rhythm was more pronounced to Dustin's eye. Islam's keen eye for detail, reflex and ability to problem solve in real time are key to his wins.
