An important fact has come to light! It has been revealed that the person who has been lying about Yasuke on the English Wikipedia is Thomas Lockley! He has been intentionally repeating false statements on the English Wikipedia in order to make it a fait accompli that he has fabricated Japanese history about "Yasuke"! He has been writing lies under the pen name "Tottoritom"!
Great interview thanks.
where can i find training weapons? and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the video, I've always been intrested in Matreg
I love hearing all about this style.
Great, thanks a lot to the both of you!
Nice
The anime was garbage. It did not do justice to the real story. At all.
🗿👍
Thank you for doing this interview!
The discussion surrounding Yasuke online after the AC game announcement is truly hilarious. I've seen multiple people saying he was a retainer, not a Samurai. Which is literally what a Samurai was. Pretty sure we even know for certain he engaged in armed combat at least once during the assassination of Nobunaga, or it might have been a later reference, but he crossed blades for certain. That's more than can even be said for some of the honorary Samurai foreigners who washed up on Japanese shores.
Marking this second sentence for later as I predict a *Spicy One.*
Fake news.
Really? How so? Dissect and debunk everything stated by the author in this video then. I’ll wait
Great interview 👍🏼
That was a great interview, would like to get his new book , also there are other Africans close to the era, who did things in China and India, like the special forces unit of a famous Chinese pirate king.
Oh word
thank you for sharing this. as someone whose main connection to dambe is through your channel please do more on the rules/training , because as leyland said from the outside it looks very simple. but we all know it is not simple. most people in the usa understand boxing/martial arts to a small degree at least, but dambe just looks so foreign
This is really cool.
The shield seems more a hindrance, Id prefer to two hand the spear.
Seriously that's horse crap. No one is complaining about Roman slavery?? HAVE YOU ALL SEEN FKKG SPARTACUS? SPARTACUS was a WHAT again? Come on guys, why don't you just admit that slavery was a HUMAN problem, not just a "White Man Problem" and may I remind you that Africa and the Middle East REFUSED to give up slavery WAY long after the white man did. WAY long after, case in point Mauretania which didn't give up slavery TILL THE 1980's. Slavery was horrible yes but just about every culture did it, just about every culture was victimized by it and nobody owes anyone reparations for shit that THEIR OWN DAMN ANCESTORS were complicit in. Who the hell do you think the white traders BOUGHT THEIR SLAVES FROM - to say nothing of the UNTOLD MILLIONS that the Mali, the Songhai, the Oyo, the Fon, etc etc etc ad nauseum, throw in the Arabs and Ottomans and Barbary States WHICH RAIDED AND ENSLAVED WHITE PEOPLE, for good measure. Why don't we just agree that slavery was horrible, we all did it, we were all victimized by it, we all built great empires built on conquest, brutality, subjugation Red, Brown, Yellow, Black and White we are monstrous to other people. Frikking Mongolia isn't ashamed of frikking Genghis Khan. Let's just accept it as a historical fact, acknowledge that Columbus, Cortez, the Mali Empire, the Ottomans and the Kingdom of Dahomey were in their own way awesome, important to history and did absolutely atrocitious things at the same time. You can respect and like aspects of a person or people group while hating the evil that they did, you know.
The first guns were handguns. Basically, a pipe that you light with match. The next in line was the matchlock. 1425 is when the Portuguese shown up with these hand cannons and crossbows.
My pen is bigger than the sheild
The lack of protective gear is a little concerning 🤔
Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS) would be a cheap, minimally invasive way to see what sort of animal tat shield is made of, you guys should look into it!
they should be wearing protective gear for this kind of sparring. one wrong move and out goes your eyes.
Foam spear points won't do much damage.
Any more updates on the project? I'm very much looking forward to the completion 😁
Ok, which one is which ?? Just kiddin' obviously the white dude is the African 😊😊😊
Clicked for Roland, but still a neat channel, I always wondered why it was rare to find african MA.
In the second part of the video the European pulls out a gun .... and the rest is history !
Long Live Indigenous Peoples! And Long Live Ethiopian Freedom!
That is power
Roland Warzecha, the Polish Jagsviking fighter, blocked the spear with the bottom of the shield, the sound of impact was a knock against wood, not against the leg.
Amazing thanks for posting.
⚔Cheers!
Excellent👍👍
70 year old goes slow so that 20 year old looks cool

Great video.
Viking guy was moving around too much. Once he tired himself out, he started slowing down and gave up openings. Deadly mistake against a more patient or experienced opponent
