    The Susquehanna River is older than the Chesapeake bay and older than the Atlantic ocean. It's the third oldest river in the world, behind the Nile and the Colorado rivers.

    I do not have a KAYAK. I'm very interested, my concerns are in 62 yrs old, 5'6" 345lbs. Do they make kayaks for that size. I mean I got a big gut. Even make PFD for that size?

  • @YakFishChris
    @YakFishChrisАй бұрын

    The nucanoe unlimited or a hobie pa 12/14 would be more then enough for someone your size. There’s a few others that would work too. PFDs they also make big as well. I’d look into an automatic deployment PFD to maximize comfort.

    You are making it too complicated. There’s an easier way to put the kayak on your SUV. You are wearing yourself out before enjoying the day of fishing.

  • @YakFishChris

    No issues with water intrusion! I used marine silicone on the screw holes but that’s it. To me it was the best spot for it on the f12.

    So how does the pursuit compare to this and the pa? I have an unlimited but looking for something a touch faster without sacrificing to much stability. I currently can stand while running my xi3 and fish no problem out of my unlimited. Any help would be appreciated.

  • @YakFishChris
    @YakFishChris8 ай бұрын

    Sorry for not responding sooner. The pursuit is stable, but in a different way. It’s much faster and a paddle first type of design. While you can stand pretty easily in the pursuit to fish, the unlimited would still be my choice over it stability wise. The PA I am using now is similar stability wise to the unlimited, but I still think the unlimited has an edge on it in that category. The only real reason I am in the PA is the pedals.

  • @YakFishChris

    It is a pain if it’s too thick. But most of the time, like 95% of the time, I could reverse quickly and clear it. That 5% was a pain in the butt.

    I'm 6'6" 350lbs. I've been looking for something that would work for me to duck hunt out of. What are your thoughts? Also, I've never owned a kayak before so I'm just trying to see if there is something out there for me.

  • @YakFishChris
    @YakFishChris Жыл бұрын

    I think the unlimited will suit you well. Super stable. Comfortable for a big guy and had the ability to outfit a duck blind! There are plenty of kayaks on the market for the big guy now, which is great but the Unlimited, Hobie PA 12/14, old town autopilot, Jackson Knarr would be where I would feel the most comfortable.

    Thanks! I'm a big guy too. 6'3" 280. I currently fish out of an Ocean Kayak Big Game Prowler but like the stability and weight ratings of the Nucanoe Unlimited. And, you answered my question on paddling. I plan to put the pedal drive in when I pull the trigger.

    Good video. How does it handle weed? any stuck issue on the prop shaft or belt? Thanks!

  • @YakFishChris
    @YakFishChris Жыл бұрын

    The weeds don’t get stuck in the belt, or at least for me havent. I’ve gunked up the prop bad enough a few times where I couldn’t clear it without getting out and removing weeds by hand. Most of the time I could reverse the drive and clear it, so it wasn’t often where it was so bad I was clearing it by hand.

  • @YakFishChris
    @YakFishChris2 жыл бұрын

    I’m confused. I don’t see what you mean. I didn’t add pulleys? Plus I wanted a clean install where wires weren’t running on the deck to the battery in the back. I’m not sure you can achieve that without going through the hull. Plus I feel like it’s model dependent. On the unlimited I would do it completely different. On a hobie PA, different. Anyways, to each their own, just don’t think your way you are describing wouldn’t work for me.

  • @flintriverkayaking7051
    @flintriverkayaking70512 жыл бұрын

    It'll work for any kayak the wires are different I ran those thru the hull you hafto to have them off the deck, all I am talking about is drilling in the kayak or the deploy pedal on the motor if you attach your line to the mechanism that actually releases the lock you just pull straight back but yes to each there own my only thing about the whole situation is having holes for water to get in the hull I haven't had any water in my hull from doing it this way.

  • @YakFishChris
    @YakFishChris2 жыл бұрын

    Not sure if you actually watched the video or not because I don’t have any pulleys or anything. I drilled two holes for wiring the plugs and that’s it. No pulleys, no other holes or lines or wires. And no water in my hull from any of my plugs.
