Only 36$ for shifter bushings bruh😂💀
You have done an amazing job Ryan and you are really giving us all inspiration, it has been great watching you overcome your hurdles and sharing tips with us all that are thinking of tackling the same swap. You are right it isn't cheap but no swap or car build ever is, and while watching big build youtube videos are great I always get way more satisfaction from watching your video's and what you are doing , you always remain so positive throughout it all and also make it feel so personal and real and it's a credit to you.. Can't wait for the next episode and looking forward to seeing it on the dyno.
So he’s blaming the drivability on a shifter like the shifter made the car stiff
New to your channel, but did you try racing the car to see what it's short comings were before you started spending money and what class to run it in. An E30 will be eligible for historic events, though obviously not with a power unit from a different marque.
Very fair question, I didn't really intend for it to be a dedicated track car or to compete, I more so was looking to build something that can be a middle ground and I intend to take it to events to drive it but not necessarily get it into a track class
I am very glad you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and we can't wait to see the car on the road again. Congrats un pushing thru and staying positive during the build. It will be very grateful to show the full list of parts and detail cost of every single part and labor hours, plus money spend on tools so we get a better idea of how much money we are talking about. I know it must be quite a large sum after adding up all the parts, labor and tools. That is including the Car, upholstery, and all the cometic parts that come along with the exterior and interior. Maybe at least a large Sum total of what has been spend up to today. and then add potentially the remaining cost to finish it.
I was thinking about doing a full part list and adding it to my website in case anyone is looking to where I found each item, but I can definitely try to get a video out that is a larger breakdown as well as some important tools that I would recommend getting! Thank you for the kind words and for the recommendation!🙂
Are you planning to hit the Dyno in the next month or so?
That's the current goal, there are a couple of small things to finish before then and unfortunately work has been crazy but I'm trying to shoot for this month for a dyno session
Way to go!
Thank you!
If anyone wants to do this, K Power discounts their kit and has free shipping typically on Black Friday. I know Ryan pieced his project between Togue Factory and K Power but the complete kit from K Power is very nice. That’s the route I’ve gone.
K power is a fantastic brand and definitely has a budget friendly kit to get you going! They are what originally inspired the k swap for me!
I recently bought it with k power and the entire kit with ecu, wire harness clutch and everything you need it was like $10k
put on your seatbelt man wtf
Totally fair point, since putting the interior back in the seat belt wasn't hooked up, I didn't go on any public roads with the car, I absolutely agree you should wear your seatbelt
Congrats man 🔥
Thank you!! I really appreciate the support!
You've probably figured this out by now, but with front wheel drive cars you don't have to undo the axle nuts to pull them from transmission. Just undo lower ball joints and the shock mount from lower control arm. It will all just swing away from axle from there.
Did you add the rear strut reinforcement plates on the topside or bottom?
It goes on the top of the strut tower🤟🏻
Looks and sounds amazing 🎉
Thank you!! It's been a ton of work but definitely made some good progress that I've been proud of! Thanks for the support
So, which model's driveshaft are you using?
The driveshaft should match the transmission you are using, I'm using a zf transmission from a e36 m3 so I have the zf driveshaft
@@ProjectRacecar2 They have the same dimensions as the original E30 drive shaft
My model is an m42 so it has the 4 cylinder, the driveshafts might be the same length but they have different bolt patterns in the front of the driveshaft, basically you need to match the driveshaft with the same model transmission
Did you need a plate to mount transmission to engine
Yeah I got my adapter plate from tf works, it's the k24 to a zf bmw transmission
Thanks for the response.. how’s the car running
@@mscott6117 no problem, it's actually running really well, I just finished the turbo build, my second to last video is its first start on this setup
you think 4port k24 would out preform a k24z7
can we save the video please
No need to apologize for time in between uploads Ryan , health first and good things take time, awesome video as always, thank you as just about to do a diff swap myself on our E30 with a good second hand open 4.1 .
Thank you for the kind words!! But the diff swaps are pretty simple, but the 4.10 feels really good paired in the e30s!! That should be great! Let me know if you have any questions during!
can you link the plates?
www.garagistic.com/products/e30-differential-mounting-point-reinforcement-kit You can add more reinforcement but these are the main ones for the diff
Yessir 🔥🔥
Both are really coming together!
Have you had the anti theft kick on and not turn off?
I haven't had that happen, I'm not sure if that is a common issue or not, what is happening with the anti theft
Best mods are all in suspension.
Did you put your ricer sticker on?
Love the rims!
In the process working on my stored e30 and everything leaks
Classic bmw stuff😂
@@ProjectRacecar2 it all started with the oil pan leaking, i ended up 3/4 engine apart
Looking good!
Thanks man! We were able to get it running in my last video!
Hey man love seeing the progress on all your vids. I also did a kswap and turbo. Im having an issue though. I got my harness from wiring specialties as well. Where did you plug in your plug labeled reverse? I assumed it was for the reverse light but mine is a different plug and with it unplugged my reverse light still works. Also did you have to do anything for your RPM gauge to work? All my other gauges work except my RPM one. car turns on but just trying to figure these few small things out before im ready for the dyno. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks for the kind words! The plug labeled reverse should be the reverse lights if I'm not mistaken, mine plugged into the sensor on the passenger side of my zf transmission. But two things might be messed up for the rpm, either you blew a fuse, it's fuse 21 or 22 or something, the second thing is in your link software you might need to turn on the rpm gauge, there should be a folder, I hope this helps
2008 335i 6 speed manual, clutch either is to the floor or up if I lift it, doesn’t have any pressure but all gears work if I float them
The slave cylinder definitely isn't bled, the fluid is what returns the clutch pedal
2008 335i 6 speed manual, clutch either is to the floor or up if I lift it, doesn’t have any pressure but all gears work if I float them
Hell yeah!! Finally started, now to get it driving. Excited for the next steps, well done man!
The hard part is done! Now on to the hard part😂 im super pumped to have it running! Thanks for the support!
You finally made it brother.... I'm hype for you!
Thanks man!! I appreciate the support throughout the build!! It feels good to get to this point!
hard work. respect
Thank you! It's been a ton of work but well worth it!!
Yes sir! Congrats dude. Lots of hard work put into this, and glad you're in the home stretch.
Thank you for the support!! We are definitely in the home stretch, I see the burnouts at the end of the tunnel😂
How long till the bellhousing crack due to that cut?
With how little torque the k series produces and the size of the piece cut out the bell housing shouldn't ever crack, a lot of people use this same drivetrain on drift and track cars with zero issues
@@ProjectRacecar2 im just concerned with the shape of the cut, that creates a stress riser... A nice circular cut will never try to crack. Not trying to be cynical.
@@Hackjob-Extraordinaire I see what you are saying, since the posting of this video I have ground down the edges to make them more of a circle cut, but I guess time will tell
Damn that valve cover is looking so much better. Yeaahhhh it runs!! Big smile on your face, must be such a relief after all the hard work. 🎉 Cant wait to see some pulls and hear that turbo
The new valve cover is crazy good! I knew I was going to change it a while ago but wanted to focus on the other work that needed to be done! I'm super pumped to actually drive the car! We definitely still have a lot of work to go! Thanks for the support throughout the build!
Nice. Good work my guy
Thank you thank you!! Finally close to the finish line!
Awesome stuff! It was so when I had the turbo k24 in my e21 so I know it’s going to be great for your e30!
Thanks man! Yeah it should be a ton of fun for the e30, are you still working on the 2002?
Ohh yesss! I was on the edge of my seat with your attempts to get it started.
Hahaha my heart was definitely beating pretty quick when I was trying to start it!! It was very nice to not have any issues with it!
I am so enjoying watching your progress and this video put a big smile on my face and gave me a happy end to what was not a great day, thank you. Engine sounds fantastic. I find good old water the best for cleaning up brake fluid. Can't wait for the next vid !
I'm sorry your day wasn't the best! The bad days pass, I'm so glad I was able to add some joy though! The engine sounds really healthy which is always a good feeling after putting so much into this😬😂 I'll be better about posting once a week!
YAY!!! (Never doubted you, but this project was quite the ordeal).
It was definitely a massive project that I didn't quite expect but I'm so glad that I'm on the home stretch🤟🏻 thanks for all of the support throughout the build!
I would have kept it NA, but cool build.
You would keep it stock 1.8is?
That's totally fair, I've always wanted this car turboed but I will definitely do an NA build in the future
this gave me the biggest smile
It was a really good feeling to finally feel like it's almost complete! Now just to get it driving😂
@@ProjectRacecar2 dude i’m here for it, im in the same boat with mine, all i need is a wideband because i am NOT blowing this thing up😭love the build tho broski
Oweeeee baby 🔥🤙🏽
Long time coming! Thanks bro for the support!!🤟🏻
Been waiting for this vid 👏🏼
It's definitely been a minute! We still have a ton to do but this was a huge win!!
Great job!! She idles so nicely and that valve cover looks 👌
It's a really calm idle which I'm really happy about! Also I never planned on doing the grey but it definitely looks really good!!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats man!
Thank you!! It's been a lot of work but well worth it
Let's go!! Comment for the algo.
Been their i will never use poly mounts again
Im pretty sure im gay lol 😍💘
