If your textures are not working even if you have the right names, the materials might not work with a name like material.001 get rid of the period in the material name. It mistakes it as a file extension. You don't have to recompile anything to rename the textures, just go into the smd file with Notepad++ and do CTRL F then replace all material names to ones that don't have a period in them.

Hello, I have been making a model and everything is perfect, the only problem I have is that the third person model appears without some weapons, the gun does not appear in third person, the mp7, etc. But some others do, such as the gravity gun, the RPG and the crossbow. I thought that this happens because the skeleton does not have a weapon bone, I added them to the skeleton but it doesn't seem to work. Could you help me? Thank you

@@Tae-47 In the other folder without proportion trick should also have the same stuff as the one in the other folder. Just copy and paste the qc from the proportion file to the file with the older qc and replace it then compile with Crowbar.

Do all of these guides also apply in working to make just a NORMAL ragdoll? Not a playermodel? I'm trying to work on pulling SFM assets and porting them into Garry's Mod without just being an effect.

There's significantly less steps for just making a ragdoll, but yes this guide would work. Just skip the bone re-naming, the entire proportion trick, c arms, and the LUA stuff. The matierals and textures also shouldn't need to be changed since it's from SFM, just make sure the material path is correct in your .qc before compiling and you should be good.

I am trying to get into making ragdolls as I wish my computer was strong enough for SFM (but it doesn't have NVIDIA), and working with effects and advanced bone tool and not ragdolls w/ ragdoll mover is a pain. Thank you for letting me know. As now this is confirmation that the steps from guides YEEEEEEEEEEEARS old still hold up to this day, but I got better steps when it comes to making them since you did that "Install the two different versions" trick. Thank you for letting me know.

I'm having an issue where I do the textures exactly following the instructions but I still get missing textures and I have double checked all the locations and even tried shortening the names a bit to see if that helped and nothing.
