By default, KDENLive renders* 1080p25fps. Go in Project -> Project Settings and set it to 1080p60fps. that might be why it's lower FPS.

How would you rate the editing software from 1 to 10?

I haven't really used it long enough to form a proper opinion on it. But so far, for people that are super familiar with video editing software in general I'd give it an 8. For beginners i'd give it a 3.

I know that frustration of trying to reach for your virtual toolbelt and something just not registering right. >_ ... Anyone else? Just me?

yeah whenever i play boneworks i have a HUGE struggle holstering, i have to try like 6 times to get it right

i'm used to vive wands, the quest 2 has different controls as well as different interaction points so i'm trying to re-adjust. i've done a few fancy reloads in my older H3VR videos for comparison.

Do you know if GPU rendering is working on Kdenlive? I remember I used to have trouble getting it to use my GPU to render any effects on the timeline / export the final video.

its still experimental, but i just tried it and it seemed to have worked for me

**Flashbacks to when I recommended a Quest 2 during the livestream that totally never happened** If the controllers bother you, I think you can hook up your previous controllers with SteamVR and just use the Quest for display, though I might be mistaken.

with a better headstrap and face gasket i'd give it a 9, luckily you can upgrade both of those things which I'm planning on doing.
