What's the strangest thing or artifact that you've seen in a coal seam???

  • @wmden1

That was about the best perspective I have seen of one of these draglines operating, from the operator's cab. The operator must have had a sore left foot, or leg. He had the top of that coal seam almost spotless down to where he was working.

its too bad there wasn't a memorial historical park combined with something like diggerland for these big machines to retire to and see them all lined up next to each other "grazing and playing" I'd pay the $60 entry fee just going to an amusement park

These videos are priceless. Unfortunately, there will be a day when the last 2570w ceases to operate and videos like these will keep them in memory

I was just thinking how much great old footage like this must still be on VHS tapes laying around in boxes of old junk in peoples garages and basements, there must be a huge amount of absolute gold video footage out there that isn't recorded anywhere else at all and will probably never get rescued and transferred to a new medium before the old magnetic tapes degrade too much to be recovered again.

Very interesting. There is a lot going on here. They had to move the cranes to keep their lift cables as vertical as possible. Just a little off, in one direction or the other, and both cranes would be turned over, and probably into each other, which, needless to say, but I'll say it, would be a very major disaster.

As a crane op,I don’t like to see anything like that. It’s very expensive and troublesome for all those involved.Huge downtime, lost jobs (careers) finger pointing and bullshit all comes with it . Hope it was repaired, and up and running sooner rather than later.Stay safe from the UK 🇬🇧 👍
