I mostly do pictures of trains but every once and a while a do a few videos in one of my favorite parts of the BNSF. Naperville is a great place to watch train because you have the Amtraks that stop there and just about ever metra, also Naperville curve, that is a great place to get videos of trains.

It would be a nice video if there wasn't dill fords walking around with cameras in their hands. That's why I say a railfan or a on looker has no respect for someone videoing. I delt with ignorant camera people for 18 years of videoing.

Greg Tiderington 0:35 And 1:04 are abandoned now there is only one rail customer left on this line. most track from the north east is now removed you can see it on Google maps/earth.
And that customer still uses rail service.

what part of Illinois is this in?
Those units are Former BRC SW9's 520 and 523. Both are now owned by Motive Power Industries(MVPX). 1206 is now leased to Sunny Farms Landfill in Fostoria, Ohio. 1209 and 1208(the 1206 and 1209's part source on this line) were booth leased to Tate and Lyle in Decatur, Illinois. None have recieved new paint, and are just patched with MVPX reporting marks.

Now those employees will have to find work somewhere else. Sad to see a railroad go out of business.

Man, I hate the noisy horns on trains. They're a nuisance, heard miles away in all directions, even in neighborhoods totally unrelated to those railroad tracks. I'd like to see noise ordinances prohibiting or greatly reducing the use of such horns.
I hope BNSF reballasted the line and killed all the weeds.
+BNSF1995 they did to an extent, but most of the line is not in use now due to track conditions on the private spurs
Are these engines not equipped with onboard radios? If so; why the apparent hand signals at 4:57? And why the whistle/horn signals? Maybe the whistle/horn signals were for show, seeing as there were railfans nearby. Two for forward, three for back, one for stop... Those are hardly used anymore, except for on lines which use old steamers or non-radio-equipped diesels. Plus. the way he was waving his hand back and forth indicates "Stop", which the train proceeded to do. I'm not saying that was incorrect, just that if they were indeed hand-signaling, as it appears, that makes it fairly obvious these locos aren't equipped with radios. Then again, if they were equipped with radios, they could have just radioed the truck on the Citizen's Band frequency as soon as they saw him.
Maybe they were doing it in combination?
