My name is Ben. I run a used appliance store in Central Ohio. When I started learning about appliances, I had no mentors to help me because everyone in the area basically had retired. I learned everything I could from KZread, and found out a few things were missing, so I decided to start a channel to share some things I've learn to help others fix their appliances!

My code is F5 E1 but I don't know what part number I need. I have this exact washer but can't find the model number. Could you tell me what I need?
It kind of sucks that normal people are left with sub-par devices due to "ADA compliance".
I noticed the the male spade connector (the one attached to the heating element) is also damaged (actually had pieces of it flake off when removing the melted wire) in addition to the female end on the purple wire. Is this part available separately or will I need the entire heating element assembly?
Great video! This is exactly what is wrong with my machine. 😬I was gifted this exact machine when I mentioned to a family member that I was going to buy a new machine 🙄😩 thankful & appreciative but this is THE WORST washing machine I have EVER had. I hated it from the 1st use
agreed. i was buying appliances on marketplace for a bit. older models. 100 bucks but 6 yrs of use. now this newer crap is on market place and i dont want to risk buying someones broken/ soon to be broken junk. but 1000+ bucks and hoping to get 8yrs out of it seems ludacris
Can this unit do split loads, like my wife tends to do with the workout clothes is take them out wash and hang dry
Getting a combo isn't only just about space but also the energy savings with a heat pump system. Having two of these would be great
I have the same problem but where will I buy these things?
I installed a new thermal fuse, plugged it in, and without turning the dryer on, turned the timer counterclockwise. This caused the fuse to blow with visible sparks. Do I need to order a new thermostat or a new timer? Any help is appreciated!
Ugly? Have you seen the GE 🫠
Great vid! I have a question. For a top freezer fridge in 2nd home that I keep unheated when away, the temps get down to the mid 40s once in while inside the house. I'm my old fridge from the 90s is just now needing to be replaced. Do I really need a garage ready model? Are garage ready fridges with separate temp regulation for the fridge and freezer more likely to have a failure due to being more complex?
I've done Appliance work half my life you are full of s*** that's not a stackable unit that's a stacked unit too by the way LG and Samsung are both garbage you were right about one thing speed Queens the best
Very helpful. Was able to change out everything I needed for 25 bucks. One thing I did that really helped Was label the screws when I took them out and the holes on the dryer. Made putting it back together much easier
But I like having one load drying while another load is washing. I can't do that with an all in one. Plus, I dry clothes 5 minutes, then hang to dry. The only things I dry fully are towels, sheets, and socks and underwear.
Just like every other Samsung front load washer, it’s gonna fail at the rubber mating with the door….
love your hat!😂
IT WORKED !!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you. You just saved me a lot of money!
This work for me. Thank you
I bought a Samsung front loader 3 years back. I recommend it if you like dirty clothes and a washer that uses no water. Waiting for it to die so I can get something better.
Thank you
I believe that the majority of the lint is passing through the top, bottom, and rear sides of the filter, not through those gaps in the plastic that youve sealed. The area you sealed comes after the 1st stage mesh filter, so there wouldnt be any large strands coming through there and it wouldnt be the source of the large lint buildups. 5:01 shows that lint is still coming through at the bottom after your solution. I dont think its a minor amount. When you insert the filter into the machine but dont push it all the way in, you would be able to jiggle the filter up and down. This indicates that there are air gaps along the top and bottom slots. My solution is to use foam window seals that have sticker backing. I stick ~1/4 inch thick foam along the filter ridges, and that fixed the problem for me. I'll make a video of this soon.
Cleaning two filters for minimal discernible benefit is a meh unless you need ventless.
3:45 that guy is not moving very much so i know for a FACT bro is taking every second of advice lol
I just got this today and I would really like the tub light to stay on anyone know if that’s possible? I have not found a button and or a option on the app
Could I see a picture of the back of your unit? We just got ours and the drain tube is soooo long we don't know what to do with it. We keep getting an error message at the end of the wash cycle saying there is an issue with draining.
Looks more compelling than the GE and LG! Any plans to get the Electrolux Laundry Tower? And do you think we might see larger combo units in a few years, like a 7 cu ft LG or Samsung Bespoke?
Your videos have been amazing for my wife and I making a decision on an all in one washer and dryer, we went with the Samsung with 4 year extended warranty. We will take delivery of it Thursday, we live in a tiny house so this is perfect for us. We are coming from a whirlpool center stack at 1.6 cu ft washer so very excited for the much bigger washer!
Yeah...but its ugly... no thanks
I brought the lg one! Because of the filter system. Much easier to clean and to gain access to the heating coil. I feel like the lg system will last longer, compared to the other two. Ive never have any drying issues with lg, tuss far.
Yeah I subscribed bro definitely helped out💯💯
I did the reset thinking that was the reason the lid would not latch. Did not work to cause the latch to work but all of the other things happened - the lights flashed and the machine ran. I figured there was an issue with the latch itself. So I unscrewed the latch from the lid and placed it into the latch mechanism. It latched and it appears it has to do with how the latch enters the latch mechanism. For now it works.
If it freezes you have to take your refrigerator apart every other day ,fun
This video was good for me and I replaced the suspension. However it didn't fix the super excessive shaking. It shakes so bad the plastic ring/splash guard between the inner and outer tubs hits the sides of the cabinet violently on high spin (using the manual diagnostic mode). So I checked that the unit is level and replaced the suspension but still have the problem. Could it be the block? Or maybe the spanner nut? Any help is greatly appreciated.
hello, checked all drains, replaced pump, same issue. the pump is not starting on test mode. WHat next ???
Man how’d you get the inner ring on and clamped without taking the thing apart??
Sooooo I had this at my house and ended up bringing it back before I even unboxed it. Washer crapped out yesterday. Horrible grinding when agitating. 8 year old Samsung. Messed with it for a little while and decided to just get it over and buy a new one. As I’m lifting the old one up get it out, about 50 3” ball pit balls start rolling out. Apparently my wife decided to wash our daughter’s ball pit balls in the washer and they made their way around the drum. Took all the damn balls out and the washer is perfectly fine. I was going to just keep the LG and sell the washer and dryer i have but the wife convinced me otherwise. I made her bring the damn thing back. Anyways. I needed to tell someone my headache this morning. Was excited to give this a try. Maybe next time.
Is this for Maytag commercial technology as well?
For the vast majority yes
My guy, I don’t ever watch videos on washers ever, EVER! But I’m subscribing because you just saved me hundreds of dollars and that’s worth the like, comment, and subscribe and turn notifications on. Thank you!
Nice thanks!
Dude, I just got back from Lowe's, pricing a new dryer, and I would swear on a stack of textbooks that the Amana, Maytag, and Whirlpool models I saw were all made in the same plant. They all had the exact same door, hinge, latch, filter... Just different consoles and badges. One cookie-cutter Maytag had a ten year warranty though. Hmmmm....
They are all the same. Just different badges on the basic models. There are differences on some other models but usually the dryers with lint traps on top are the same and it's the same legacy unit from 1965
@@bensappliancesandjunk Yes, but I noticed one Whirlpool incorporated a circuit board and bubble switch control arrangement. The other three had plain jane analog dial arrangements. Got an opinion on those more spacey controls?
First of all GREAT VIDEO! Thank you for this. I am buying the parts from your link!
Water valve bad.
Thank you that worked !!!
Just bought ours it gets delivered Wednesday!!!
Hope you enjoy!
Thank you for the video.
You're welcome
Thanks, shopping for a new front loader. Have a used Frigidaire wash / dry pair for 12 years, have cleaned out water pump twice and repaired door. Washer finally died.
Is the gearcase shaft supposed to remain stationary while installing the locknut? Mine spins so I can't tighten the locknut and there is still play between the tub and basket wall. Brand new gearcase too.
My Kenmore is 40 years old still works so does the Ice Maker. Clean the coils every 6 months like he said.
nice
How about an LG induction stove range??
