That was very inspirational. Thank you for this wonderful interview. Greetings from Brazil.
Great interview. One of my favorite photographers, and he seems like such a nice person. Interesting comments about the former mayor, too. I suspected as much. People don’t change that much.
What a great interview, I have always loved Joel`s work and his passion for photography. Wonderful to listen to him talk of the days spent with others capturing life, "the decisive moment". Thank you.
I just bought that book yesterday, with the goal to learn photography from this “contemporary old pro”。
Joel sounds like a predatory, opportunistic pain in the arse when he's talking about his WTC photos. They have no serious archival value, no value to historians. They don't help us come to grips with what happened. He just took people's time, got in the way, alarmed cops and others who didn't want an unprincipled photographer taking photos of someone's mashed-up relative.
Wildly unsupported claims.
i loooove his photografy he is a inspiration for me¡¡ thanks for sharing¡¡
I can listen to Joel for hours and hours
Incredible interview - thank you BOTH so very much for sharing.
how intersting is that! thank you for sharing. we will have to come a long way still to have exhibitions or foundations like that in my country
There are many photographers I look up to but Joel is the one I could listen to forever. His way of expressing his thoughts is just so poetic and clear at the same time.
overrated photographer
Apparently you thought this comment had value. No.
What time period is all these presentations from please, and where?
I mean originated.
where ya at
Very inspiring interview. I loved listening to him recount all the pivotal moments that had such impact on his career & on photography in general. I must admit that around the 19 minute mark he began to resemble fellow NYer Larry David, but Meyerowitz has far more talent & generosity.
So sensitive...
Anna 'Delvey' brought me here.
Such a fantastic conversation, amazing tips, amazing insights, and incredible back stories!! And man those self portraits were AMAZING!
I hope they are all reserved a place in heaven .also lead .Nice charmed lives
People say .what confess to some thing u did nt do .imagine this .6 to 8 hours .in a small smoke filled room .no legal assistance. No parents .a young kid .shouted and balled at Personal space invaded .bullied .terrorised. deprived .sleep .food .a break .constant pressure. YOU TALK .

Non seulement, d'être un grand photographe, c'est un extraordinaire et charmant conteur.
One of the best interviews and I was lost listening to Joel's stories.. So much educational and inspiring. He is one of my favorites and top in the list for sure. Thank you for uploading this interview....:)
Absolutely riveting interview love the stories Joel told love his work. My introduction to photography came as a 12 year old dad came home with his latest hobby a camera and a box full of stuff he took a photo of myself and my sister he vanished under the stairs coming out a while later with a glossy black and white photograph from that was my decisive moment I never wanted not to have a camera on me. Cheers dad xxxx liked and subbed regards Paul
