Just replacing mine.. super helpful vid thanks ❤
Nice during assembly I found it easier to do both the frontcover for the cupholder and cupholder as one piece.
I have a problem removing the first piece, how did you loosen it up?
What size is that little bolt
It was a very small Torx bolt, T7 maybe? Sold the car several years ago so unfortunately can't confirm.
Can you tell me which wire goes to the left pin and which goes to the right pin as it is in its position and i am looking at it from the front of the car. One is red w/ blue stripe and one is red with green stripe. I had to make my own connector until i can find that connector for the bpc.
Awesome video! Thank you for the great tip. Cheers.
Whyyy do they make it so difficult to change a lightbulb??? How about a hatch in front, done!
Some are saying there is an easier way that allows you to get to the bulb covers with them in the car, but I sold it years ago and can't give it a go. This is still the official WIS directions, though.
Thanks , good to know , I'm going to replace one
Thank you from Germany. Perfekt.
Great video! My 2,0 150hp feels totaly dead when accelerating. Maybe the BPC is the problem.. I have no codes when i plug in the Tech 2.
Thanks! Definitely check for vacuum leaks, Trionic 7 has a great video on easily replacing the lines in a 9-5. Also worth changing spark plugs/air filter if you don't know the last time they've been done.
@@KeithCars Thank you very much for your answer and your advise! I will check out the video and i will absolutely change spark plugs and the air filter.
@@KeithCars Today when i was going to check the BPC it fell apart. When i disconnected the electrical connector the whole top part came loose and a little spring and some other parts fell out. Is it supposed to be possible to be opened or could this be the reason to why my car is so tired? Couldn´t find any cracked hoses and the air filter was pretty ok. I will change it anyway along with the spark plugs and oil, but i havent got the parts yet.
@@J1I9M7M4Y I think you found your culprit! it definitely should be a sealed unit and I would recommend replacing it ASAP
@@KeithCars Thank you for your quick answer. I won´t bother to try to put it toghter then. I have another Saab (2008 biopower) i will check if it has the same BPC and if that thatś the case i will take it and put it in the 2004 2,0.
Thank you!!
Ebay still refuses to shut these people down. Tons of fake spark plugs and ignition coils on eBay advertised as "OEM".
Is this type of side markers only on the US model? My 9-5 comes from Sweden and the side marker is in the fender and there's just a black plastic where you show yours.
Yes I believe so. North American models are required to have the amber side lights.
Mine goeas aeay by itself affer a change. Why doesn't yours?
..... Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe
Naaaa, you can change the bulbs without all that. Take out the battery and the airflow sensor coming up from the air filter and there you go 👍
Totally - learned about your easier approach after I sold the car or I'd have redone this video. But this is the official 'SAAB WIS' way of doing it.
Worked for me nov 2023. Thanks !
Great video, thanks. This took me under 10 minutes moving slowly. Using a bit of tape to mark the middle hose is a good idea.
Glad that trick worked for you!
It did work for me just the fuse Thanks
Great, glad that was it!
Thanks for this video, really help me out. Easy job with it.
Perfect guide - enough explanation and visuals without dragging on. Really appreciate your help!
Where do I get the new trim pieces?
I found pieces on eBay and in a junkyard.
Thank you!
Can i use the same switch in a 9-3 og?
No, the OG9-3 has more functionalities in it. Here are the OG9-3 window switch part numbers you'll need depending on your car and equipment: - 3 Door, No Sunroof: 4814380 - 3 Door, Sunroof: 4814372 - 5 Door, No Sunroof: 4814364 - 5 Door, Sunroof: 4814356 - Convertible: 4814398
Thank you !!!!
As a proud (and a bit frustrated) owner of a 900ng convertible I would like to thank you. Great material with precise instructions, without any bullsh*t between.
In my owner's manual it says it's not that relay you removed but the one next to it. Something to watch out for viewers, check your manuals before hand. 2005 9-5 Aero HOT, UK spec.
Good call out to check for your spec - this is the location on 2006+ US cars.
Hey thanks for the clear instructions. My new lights are live!
Glad to hear this helped you!
Hi! I am wondering if i can replace my 2005 saab 9-5 speedometer for the one you have. is it possible?
I don't believe 2006 and newer instrument clusters are compatible with 2005 and earlier. Note that if you do swap your cluster for another, it will need to be programmed to the car with a Tech2 for the car to function.
thank you , i will actually try this today.
I owe you 1 hour of my time thanks for the help!
Thank you very much
👍👍👍 Thanks, very good video 👍👍👍.Merci !
thank you all thumbs up ! simple and right on spot God bless you !
Awesome, smooth and simple!
I get so much excited watching this cause I want to get my Saab headlight wipers working but one side is broken off I wonder if they have replacement for it
Thanks.. it worked!
Thanks !!!
Thanks very good
So I got a funny store for this, my cupholder arm snapped. So I got the thing that actually holds the cup in my lap and the actuator is still where it exists
Yikes! Time for a new one. Luckily it being broken that way won't change how you have to remove it.
Thank you! This is definitely still helping people!
Good show/ my 2003 cup holder is vertical, but I’m wondering if it’s the same part. I guess I’ll check!
Is your 2003 a convertible? If so, I believe it's a different part than 2003+ sedans.
Thanks for this. I've got the plain black plastic in my 9-5 and I'm swapping it for wood. Next up, changing the dashboard trim.
Awesome, I'm glad this is useful to help you make an upgrade!
@@KeithCars My fingernails are a bit sore 😬
Is this the most likely suspect for a P0102 code?
Yes, very good chance!
Thanks for the tip. This BMW part number looks like it fits my MY2001 9-5 well. Took some as much as I could from the old fluid (it was already below min and had turned brownish) with a big syringe and some tubing, put CHF 11S, cleaned the lid and the replaced the old gasket (still flexible but with some very small cracks here and there. Hopefully it should stop the fluid from disappearing and gunking up on the outside.
Glad this helped! Keep an eye on it - if it's still disappearing there could be a leak further down in the system. In my '07, this stopped my minor leak.
@@KeithCars thanks but this should probably fix it. Last time I topped it up to the mark was like 5 years ago so it wasn't too bad and it was very grimy near the cap.
@@bgfelagund Awesome! I love cheap fixes.
Keith, thanks for the video! Do you still have the old mirror? I have the same color, a '05 Aero wagon. I lost the bottom outer trim piece. I tied buying one off of eBay, but I couldn't get the paint to match correctly. It's easy to see it doesn't belong. The part I'm referring to is on the exterior and is close to the hood. It has almost a triangular shape to it. I see it actually comes on the mirror assembly. I didn't realize that. It can be separated from the assembly, just snaps on. Please let me know. I would be willing to pay for it. Thanks again. Jon
Jon, glad to hear this was useful for you! Unfortunately I no longer have those mirrors. I check out Saabs at pull-a-parts every now and again - next time I'm there I'll grab one and reply here.
@@KeithCars That would be awesome. The paint code is PARCHMENT SILVER 293. I believe it's the same as yours. Please let me know. Much appreciated. Jonathan
Thanks, its real help 👍
Thnx man
Thank you very much, this is a very usefull howto, really easy to do. Little feedback: put the camera on a tripod:)
Glad it was useful! If I start doing these again I definitely will get one :)
Thanks so much, great video.... And your method worked ( can be a rare thing on KZread). Thanks again!!!
Happy to have helped!
