I never actually played the game but i collected the creature cards. I think i was about 20 cards away from owning at least 1 copy of ecery creature card they ever made.

I picked up a very large sets of unopened decks in 2013/2014 and stored them, will have to dig them out. I am friends with Mike Pondsmith and after the announcement of Cyberpunk 2077 I went looking for items to add to the collection and saw the listings for the card game. I did my research and grabbed all I could for a low price. My wife was ok with it, but was not too happy I wasn't going to play them just a long term investment. I knew Mike had not been the one who design it and asked him what he thought of it. He said it was fun, but it had a learning curve, as you said. I played the Original first cyberpunk game and Cyberpunk 2020. I also help them get the right for Bubble Gum Crises game system. Another game that would have been a great as a card game. I think I 2 of the first run decks and 3 or 4 boxes or boosters: and other desks. All unopened.

I was wondering. There’s almost 1500 Digimon. How many Digimon have or don’t have their own card & is there an order to follow? # or A-Z? I’m looking on the list and there’s a alphabet chart, and OG number chart that stops at 351.

I miss both score and Panini's games. They were very unique. They both felt more like dragon ball than any other version of the many dragon ball card games. Not gonna lie, I was very salty when Bandai decided to send the panini game into the next dimension. Here's to hoping that it can make one more come back and actually stick around.

I think one thing that also impacted the card game market in that 2006-2009 range was World of Warcraft drawing in so many gamers to online play. Game stores sat empty as people gamed at home. Around 2011/2012, people wanted the social interaction and gaming with people aspect again and you saw a huge boom in European board games and card games. This also went hand in hand with many areas rebounding from that down economy.

Haha, just wait two years and a new DBZ game will be out. No reason to end the last one, so let's end it and start a new one. Thanks for posting this. It helps with sorting out all the DBZ cards from various games we have so we can finally get them all listed.

Amazing video! I remember starting to play Magic in 1997 and then discovering A LOT of different TCG of a lot of movies, books, comics, etc., something that I love. Sadly here in Argentina the TCG are expensive af.

SO GLAD you went into the Japanese side of the game. WAY too many people just cover the american history without looking into its japanese roots. Heck i'm REALLY trying to find more of the japanese history of the game because it still goes on today in japan.

For a period, Score DBZ was actually more expensive to play competitively than yugioh. I remember the competitive scene being pretty fierce from what I could gather. I never played the game, though. Only reason I remember all this was because I closely followed the scene through Beckett DBZ collector.

I had a book for the 1st digimon game. Couldn't find the cards, so I cut them out. Had a whole stack of cards, both sides having different Digimon. Never played it. When I saw the DCG I got so excited and bought. Never found anyone to play it with. Still have the cards mixed in with my cutouts and Yugioh cards.

Wonderful video! Try and keep your eyes on the camera instead of up and to the right. I know camera presence is unusual, but that extra bit of 'eye contact' will increase viewer engagement. Great work! It would be interesting to hear you cover upcoming TCGs (such as Manifold by Mount Baker Games).

the game was boring as all hell, but the photos are blissfully quintessential peak 90's. and not even really photos of actual cities like the name would suggest, but just random-ass podunk small-town america 90's. why you would need a card game to experience them, who knows! part of the bizarre nature of the whole enterprise.
