You were lucky that bears in your area don't want anything to do with humans, yet! Living in the Cascades we deal with bear human interface the every year. Some times the bears run and other times, well things are not good for the bear or the human. Please arm yourself with appropriate tools and bear spray. 😊 Great progress on your solar systems😉
Hey Norm, glad to see you are back! I know what you mean about can’t work like you use to when you were younger. I’ll be 70 before long and I know I can’t work like I used to. Take your time and it will all come together. You’re doing a great job. You guys are a good team!

Luckily Black bears are normally not aggressive and would rather just be left alone. Grizzley on the other hand are very aggressive. The bear population in our area is dominated by Black bear but Grizzley do roam this mountains in small numbers.
@jolenecreech7648 it's berry season, too. The bears are far more interested in beries than in hunting this time of year. In the fall, it could have been a different story. Bear spray, and a side arm.. I carry both on my own property.

Great bear story! I've had a similar experience on my property too; once with a bear and a half dozen times with mooses. So glad you had Jazz on the leash for that!

Hi norm an kim lots going on that wall you are building looks good norm and nice to see your wiring up the solar panels. I know what you are saying norm it's all the components you think you have but find out you forgot to order but you both are making it all come together. Kim seeing a big black bear not far away will get the adrenaline going. It's a very good idea to keep the wee dog on the lead don't want the bear getting her or you for that matter . Painting the 2 doors and frames looks really good at matching your windows good choice thank you for this video much appreciated

But did ya change your panties asap?! Lol Super super scary! Super different outcome if Jazzy was off leash maybe? 😱. Carry concel, bearspray and small canned air horn . I'd carry all. Horn for coyoto, dogs,small bobcats. Bear spray ,conceal carry for cougar and bears ,wolverine. Space aware continued dog training in emergency response. Keep your head on a swival out there. Thank God above you are both safe and okay.

Greatful for your updates. Kim you should consider carrying bear/ wasp spray( shoots 20 feet) Lowe’s or HD carry them. Glad you’re getting friends to help.

Black Bears are very skittish usually and are more scared of us than we are them typically. Wolves, coyotes, bobcats and foxes however would look at Jazzy as a quick meal. Please be aware 😊
I've had good results spraying metal doors. If you use a brush, get a PURDY brand

I painted my garage doors with self prime and self leveling paint from sherwin Williams and rolled them and they came out perfect.

She is thrilled. The dryer is gas so it doesn’t need 240v but yes our solar system will produce it.

The doors look good black.my brother-in-law and his sister and I were up hiking in big bear,and I saw a big brown bear and my brother-in-laws sister screamed and the bear stood up and started running after us.we ran as fast as we could down the hill to where we were camping, as we were running we were yelling get in your cars we were in a old school bus converted into a RV.a bunch of other people jumped in the bus with us and the bear came up to the side of the bus and was looking in at us and pushing on the windows.

Been a framer for years if you want 16" on centre in a wall take the tape measure to 15 1/4 to 16 3/4 and put the stud in the middle now you have 16 on centre for 4 foot and 8 foot walls but keep up the great work your doing wonderful job

You guys do a great job capturing the beauty of the land and nuances we often take for granted. Love the black floors. Cans are just hard to get even unless you have lots of practice. A Bruce or roller with a flow aid really helps me.

Why did you put in such a large conduit? Could have saved a lot of money.
I ran 5 pair of wires plus a ground. Yes, I could have gotten away with a smaller conduit but the last thing I wanted was to run the wire at some future date and find it too hard to pull through.
