WIGFRID! I actually played my longest run ever, as her (over 600 days). GO, WARRIOR! VALHALLA AWAITS! --Oh, you started in Hallowed Nights time! I _love_ this stuff. Halloween goes PERFECTLY with this game. --Nope, you start defaultly on the first day of fall, in Don't Starve Together. Those ice puddles will start _firming up_ as the days go on, towards Winter. "A reverse ostrich joined the rave." As they do. --Fires last much longer in DST/Reign of Giants, and have a heat effect on characters nearby. Willow doesn't mind that. Everybody else does. --HOLY CRAP you've got an infestation! Oh, your first time meeting Volt Goats! "Aww, look at her. She has two husbands. :)" --Yep, water is a mechanic in the game from Reign of Giants onwards--and Don't Starve Together uses Reign of Giants' mechanics, unless you specifically tell it not to in the settings. --You has a present in the corner. :) TARDIGRADES? well, I guess that's one way to describe the big beetle-y ish shadow monster thing. "It's VEEGfrreed, you bongo!" r/rareinsults. --You should absolutely make fishsticks once you get a crockpot. They are good stuff. +30 HP. A way to preserve ice? Why not make...an ICEbox? Yes, this game has refrigerators. Oldschool ones. :) --The giant beehive is actually an okay neighbor...as long as you DON'T mess with it. --TABLE!! Buddy! The creepy walking table is actually called The Stagehand. I like to lure it back to my base on purpose, to freak people out. :) I decided that Willow would just call it "Table". --I HATE that the thermal stone has a durability in Don't Starve Together! That's the first thing I modded out. :P Mostly I play vanilla, but having to constantly rebuild my rock bugs me. I love your whole way you Dramatically Introduce every new boss or miniboss: Swirling around like you just opened a present, and: "DEERCLOPS" or "SPIDER QUEEN". Very cool. --Your singing while playing "Wilfrid" ("It's WIGFRID, you idiot!") is kind of appropriate--because she was an actor in operas, back in the real world. Yeah, this game has lore. A lot. --You took care of two mini-bosses, fairly close together! (The Spider Queen and the Varg.) Sweet! Farming in Don't Starve Together is better than in regular Don't Starve in one major, important way: YOU CAN STILL FARM DURING WINTER. "Of course a killer bee could go to Valala, they're warriors of a sort! Why not?" Yeah! "I like burning things..." says Wigfrid, releasing her inner Willow. --Yeah, the game always starts in fall and it turns to winter on Day 21, every time, unless you mess with the settings. --Hey, we just saw Wigfrid actually do a dramatic opera note on the stage! Cool. You oughta see her do the "Carol" emote. With her voice being the way it is, it's.....something, to behold. XD Again, I hope you don't mind my ramblyness. I love this game and love seeing people try it for the first time, especially when they do clever/funny commentary like you do. So I had to write a lot of commentary myself. :)

The Ruins is in an awkward place in Don't Starve without RoG - it's not exactly clear what the point of doing a trip there is. In Don't Starve Together, with its larger world, greater dangers, and "post-Ruins content", the Ruins is your shortcut to a lot of things that would otherwise take much longer to achieve. Players will do a "Ruins Rush", trying to get at least a single quick run of the Ruins done before Autumn ends and Winter begins, and if they succeed, that makes the rest of the year way easier. Depending on your skill level, a Ruins Rush could involve crafting things at a Broken Pseudoscience Station (which actually is a crafting station, just a diminished one), repairing a Broken Pseudoscience Station and crafting things at it, or even killing Ancient Guardian for his big chest, as well as crafting. If you are able to complete a Ruins Rush before Winter in DS, then you will have a much better time in DST - that's a loud opinion in the community, anyway. Even a partial Rush, where you only craft Broken Pseudoscience goodies, can be a huge boost to your survival chances for the rest of the game. I personally don't do Ruins Rushes and disagree with the majority opinion - I prefer other strategies + it's a bit awkward in multiplayer to just disappear into the Caves while newbies who are trying to learn the game with me are trying to not starve. But that's sort of the context of what Ruins are "for", which I sense was your bigger question this whole time.
@BabaganuushАй бұрын
Hey m8, good to hear from you! Yeah, you’re making a lot of sense. The only threat I could think of was Deerclops (I’m obviously operating at a severe lack of information and knowledge here) and even he does not seem to have the same high spawn rate in DS as in DST. Is there a faster way to find the ruins than what I did? Is it always closer to the center of a cave opening so one should stick to that and jump from cave to cave until you find it? I thought you could only craft walls and smash together fragments of thulecite into one thulecite at a broken station, but perhaps you can craft a few more items? I’ve not yet googled all the items, is there a specific one everyone is after down there?
@JojiriusАй бұрын
@@Babaganuush 1) Faster - some people get really nerdy about the worldgen code and learn about how to find it faster that way, but just through normal play, it's hard to be faster. In DST you have more environmental cues where the Ruins will be, so it's less luck. 2) Broken Pseudoscience Station is intended to make some items that help with future Ruins expeditions. The Star Caller's Staff, for instance, is intended to make the Ancient Guardian fight more visible and less stressful. The Thulecite medallion tells you which phase of the Nightmare Cycle is happening...not too helpful if you are inside the Ruins, but helpful if you're collecting Blue Mushrooms and wondering if its safe to go in. The medallion is, uh, much more useful in DST, just because of how differently the cave map looks compared to regular DS. 3) I think you chase different items depending on your goals. It hard to answer this one. A player trying to support a flock of newbies will want different items from a player trying to kill every boss for a speedrun. That said, the Star Caller's Staff (because it can be made at repaired AND broken stations) is usually a goal no matter which bucket you fall in. Creating a light that isn't in your hand, body, or helmet slot frees up those slots for whatever you want to put in them, whether you are fighting bosses, fending off Nightmare Creatures, or just vibing.
@BabaganuushАй бұрын
Ah, so I was lucky finding it in my first cave then (looking back an easy right hand turn instead of left might have made it a world record event). A lot of different uses for the items then, a lot more than I thought. Next time I go down I will have to try and figure out how to have a little more hang of the nightmare cycles, that's what really set me back I think.

And also, here are your survivor-friendly tips! *1* - Blue caps actually supposed to give you health, but cooking them changes their effect so cook green caps, not blue caps. *2* - There is an unique crock pot food "pierogi" that gives you so much health! to cook it, you need; 1x any vegetable (mushrooms are counted) 1x any meat 1x any egg and a filler (Do not use twigs. and if you use monster meat for meat, then do not use monster meat twice which makes you cook monster lasagna which is useless for most of the characters) *3* - Magiluminessence is a very op amulet that gives you speed and a little bit light. But never let it hit %0, that makes it disappear. but you can REFUEL your magiluminessence with your nightmare fuel! *4* - Meat effigy from shadow manipulator can be used to revive yourself like a tocuh stone! But it takes %25 of your health. But if you are playing Don't Starve Together, you can still maximize your health by crafting and using a booster shot. *5* - Thulecite items has their own unique features outside of being better than other their type items. You can try to use them in battles!

@@timebuddy5092 I think I'll go with RoG before DST :)
Brother has returned with an absolute feast... We will eat for months..!!!!!!!
And you've returned as well! I hope you had a pleasant honeymoon in San Diego!
@@Babaganuush You bet!!! Had a great time Jackin' it in San Deigo!
Jackin it, woooooohh! Spanking it, smack!
The video has came!
Aye, it is here! And you've also come! We're here!
Will you play reign of giants next?
I do believe Shipwrecked is on the horizon!
@@Babaganuush that is also awesome. Though I'd love to see you kill all giants one day + in rog they have much more reasonable health then the don't starve together ones
Yeah I might check out RoG instead of going back to DST for that exact reason. I think it will be more fun that way!
@@Babaganuush I think once you're comfortable with RoG a return to DST will be a lot more smoothly since by then you'd have a good hold on all season and only need to focus on all the insane extra content of DST. That's how I'm doing it started DS with Willson until I felt confident surviving 'indefinitely' than moved onto RoG with Maxwell (quite a shift since he only has 75 HP) next I'll do shipwrecked than hamlet and lastly the big DST run and after that maybe some DST with my friends.
im only 5 minutes into this video and i love this guy’s vocabulary
What vocabulary? 😂 Cheers Terry!
Over 600 days? How many dogs spawn after that amount of days? gotta be hundreds?! I've yet got to experience the scorching heat of summer as I've always died just before. I'm sure I will get to in a near future. You've snapped up quite a bit in this essay of a comment! That is always appriciated, thank you! Since this playthrough I've tried out a few things (or learned...) that you pointed out, like the icebox, flowers for my bee's that dont produce any honey (it's almost like it is the same as in real life...) Anyways, thank you! :)
Cherly
I gotta say, I'm not sure what this means.
I think bees need flowers to make honey, no?
That is indeed a thing 🫠
In 43:28 part of video you missed chester in bottom right corner !!! Whyyyyy he is my best friend😢😢😢 he could have helpt you a lot😥😥😭😭😭
Unfortunately I don’t think this is an isolated incident 😥
Scrumptious video! Gotta watch out for men who try to explode all over you.
And they explode all over you when you least expect it, it's a real problem.
I kind of wish they made on for shipwrecked/hamlet
I thought they did for Shipwrecked when I came across the Seaworthy (took me a while to realize that was not the case 😭)
@@Babaganuush My favorite part is comparing how easy or hard each dlc is like starting out (like Willow being the strongest in Hamlet but the weakest in Shipwrecked)
A truly fitting ending.
Everything had gone smooth so a rock to the head was really humbling
Love distracting myself from my own suffering by watching someone else's!
It's like you forget your own suffering for a bit!

Ah, so I was lucky finding it in my first cave then (looking back an easy right hand turn instead of left might have made it a world record event). A lot of different uses for the items then, a lot more than I thought. Next time I go down I will have to try and figure out how to have a little more hang of the nightmare cycles, that's what really set me back I think.
hello
And a big vegetable to you! 🥦
Perfect send off for a great mini series, nice to see someone explore the ruins because even with my decent track record in terms of days survived I always shit bricks when going down so saw some stuff for the first time! Thanks for the content and can’t wait for shipwrecked
I'm always scared shitless, and then you let up, just a little bit, and then some more until you inevitably die because you've become too reckless
Man your content is so comforting idk something about your narration and the fact that you are having such a fresh experience makes you so much more entertaining to watch than dedicated DS channels. This is gonna be a great series and would love to see your exploration/wiki-less style in one of the DLCs, so much more babaganush to look forward to!
I loved reading this! Hope to see you stick around. I'm quite certain the next Don't Starve content will be 100 days of shipwrecked. Just need to get down and into editing the bulk of the footage.
I quite like the idea of the ruins being in a state of perpetual winter, just like even during summer you need to prepare for the freezing cold weather
I didnt really get a grasp of when the ruins was cold and not, I found it to be random or really short seasons down there.
Aww, you forgot about the Life Giving Amulet! You could have survived if you wore that when your health dropped so low. Not just because it would have revived you after that hit, but it would have healed you a bit, too, and maybe the fatal hit wouldn't have been fatal this time.
Yeah and I’m even reminding myself of it in the video. It has even saved me in the past as well! Too many items for me little pea brain to keep track of 🫣
Good run boy!!
I tip my cap to you! I think next up, is 100 days of Shipwrecked.
NOOOO THE END... i really enjoyed this series cause it's my favorite game and your videos are very fun to watch. i found your channel looking for some ds gameplay i'd enjoy to watch last time and i found the first video of the series and i want to watch more <3
Very kind of you! I'm sure I'll put out more Don't Starve content in the future as well, count on it!
Yeah, I've gotten flak for using twigs before (made a lot of kabobs I think in DST). So many cool tips thank you! How on earth do you get beard hair when you cant grow it? I've only found it through shaving Wilson :O
@@Babaganuush bunnies and bunnymen turns into beardlings and beardlords when sanity is low. Killing them at this form could drop beard hair (beardlords drop more). This is the most chosen way to get beard hair while playing with other characters.
Oh yes! Now that you mention it I think I’ve actually seen that from beardlings!
meat effigy doesn't take away MAX health in DST, only in DS
@@user-li8up7nt2o Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that they changed that mechanic.
NEW VIDEO 🪙
Arrriiiiba!
13:23 if you walk on the very edge of the web no spiders spawn. The same applies for the regular spider dens above ground. Also my preference for the loadout you carry with you is having a backpack for storage, football helmet for armor (it is just as good as the log suit) and I carry the lantern for light. The lantern can be dropped on ground and will still emit light but be careful around monkeys because they will steal it. I know this is a lot of information at once but it is the nature of the game.
Yeah, the winter gear was overkill except perhaps the thermal stone once in a while. The lantern will probably just take some time to get used to but I’ll try and put it in the mind palace 👌🏻
A Don't Starve video from Babaganush is more valuable than thulecites!
The rarest of commodities!
I love the videos man
