I think the fans have pointed out in fanfiction that Ned despite not wanting to play basically has one of the best pieces John after all someone who debated Lee has a claimed to the throne and who basically sees your children as his siblings and hid your peace so well that no one knows who he is clever

  Tarly was commanding the Van, a small, light forward group of the main army vs the main bulk of Roberts, the likelihood he could win the field, let alone smash Roberts army alone was small. Jon Con could have easily killed Robert had he simply found him prior to the battle of the bells. Show Pleb take.

  People forget that while he is neither honorable or an intellectual, he is not a fool either. The Mountain was fighting for his whole life, he is not just some cave troll who wildly swings at the air. He received formal training. Plus, strength means speed, the stronger you are, the quicker you swing a weapon. Then let's add reach, armor twice as thick as a normal one, instakill in any grapple situation, and then you have the Mountain. I think that a fair 1v1 requires at least a Valeryan steel sword for the challenger, because he is otherwise kinda immune to damage.

  The worst player of all was Daenerys Targaryen. How do you squander so many advantages in such a spectacular fashion? Her impulsivity highlighted her complete lack of leadership skills. Instead of integrating all ideas to formulate a coherent plan, she vacillated between complete trust in her advisors and no trust whatsoever. And her people game... her blatantly transparent attempt to schmooze to Sansa, her complete lack of tact when telling Sam about his father and brother, her complete lack of understanding in how to win over hearts and minds... all of it was absolutely abysmal.

  Tywin is a proud fool .. he is unwilling to abandon his pride even when it benefits him like if he just apologized to the starks a war could have been avoided. Also why didn't Tywin raise Joffrey? All his hopes depends on joffrey so why the flip would you let cersei raise him? Tywin normally your smart but im this case your a proud fool

  Gonna say I think it's a missed opportunity not to have Syrio Forel on this list. While it's true he only had a single onscreen fight to his name, said fight was against five armed and armored men, while he was using a STICK. I think that's as "unprepared for a fight" as you get, and he still killed four of the Lannister men and was (in the books at least) so much better than Trant that the only reason Trant came out on the other side was because of his full plate armor. In fact I think a lot of what you said about Bronn could probably have applied to Syrio as well.

  I genuinely believe that if Ned was not as honorable as he was in show then im very confident he would have been betrayed and would have died during Roberts rebellion. I firmly think honor is his greatest strength and not a weakness. Visarys is an excellent example of what happens when your not honorable like Ned and you turn on your family. I think Neds greatest weakness was more not being a good politician. Agreeing to be hand of the king WAS ned choosing to be less honorable and compromising on his moral values. And Sometimes in politics there is no morally good option so you have to pick the lesser of the two evils. Like the us nuking japan or invading it directly. Both options are evil and suck... I think Ned agreeing to be the hand was what costed him his head, because it was compromising his honor and moral values. he knows hes not hand material. Joffrey and Visarys are essentially what Ned stark would be if he had no honor. While Ned died very early on in the show he lived a much longer life then either visarys or Joffrey and unlike those two, Ned actually died with at least some peace. If Ned had turned on his own family and not been honorable or as honorable as he was during Roberts rebellion. He would have been betrayed and executed. while some people think Neds honor got him killed if he had bot been honorable when becoming hand of the king i still think he would have died very early on and o don't think that would have prolonged his life really.

  All of this is irrelevant. Martin has only superficial knowledge about medieval warfare. His intention is to describe power struggles. Every decent military leader of ancient/medieval times, would have wiped the floor. And the "a-tier" like Jinghis Khan, Caesar, Hannibal... would have found ways to kill dragons. My best bet on Jinghis Khan being the fasted. observing dragons feeding habbits and poison or trapping them. Hannibal would have likely created a situation in which the dragons attack their own troops. ^^
