Hey Guys so this comment is to correct any mistakes we made in the vid. We can only apologise, the video was made on a bit of a last minute time crunch at the request of a viewer but even with that flimsy reason we don't want to use it as an excuse to misinform newcomers to the series. I'll check in periodically and update the list or if you just want to tack your corrections to this comment feel free. #1- Liam decided to look at the map on his wall instead of googling Alaska and wrongly assumed it was part of Canada and not a US territory. The US annexes Canada to maintain its supply lines. Correction thanks to commenter-Faustomuscas #2- Its actually Tandys father that founds the NCR, Tandy is the one who builds the NCR up into a credible force, but its her Father Aradesh that actually lays the important ground work. Correction thanks to- Liam actually thinking about it for 5 minutes when not under a time constraint.

2:51 China invades Alaska not Canada; Alaska is where the last oil deposits are not Canada. The US moves it's troops and supply lines through canadian territory to fight the chinese in Alaska, which is american territory. Later on the americans decide to annex Canada in order to secure their supply lines, they are able to do this due to the widespread american military presence in the country. Eventually the US pushes the chinese out of Alaska and even manages to invade mainland China capturing several important cities, it is at this point that the atomic bombs are dropped. Sorry if I sound rude correcting you like this but I didn't want people to have misconceptions on the lore.

Caps were made a standard currency early on in the wasteland of Fallout because they were backed by water, an extremely important resource in a post nuclear apocalypses. One cap was equal to one bottle of water. There's a lot more to it, but lets just say its easier for traders and caravans to carry a bunch of caps rather than lug around gallons of water.

I fully believe it was Vault-Tec that launched the first missile, but the bigger point is supposed to be about how that scenario became even possible in the first place. It doesn’t really matter who set off the Great War, the same way it doesn’t ultimately matter who poisoned Jon Arryn or who tried silencing Bran.

FWIW the creator of the original FO Tim Cain says it was China and they launched them because of the US using FEV. China found out about the FEV and told the US to drop it or they would launch. The US told China they ended the program but didn't, China found out and launched. Even though it's not canon I always figured the reason for a lot of the weird mutations including ghouls is that FEV got out in the wild so both it and radiation are mutating things.

I think it would be good if you could do a much more in depth look at the brotherhood of steel, they’re so much more complex (it’s why I love them)

I really enjoy the show. 6/8 episodes watched in 2 days, for me it's a speedrun! I know Fallout only from distance. Never played it, maybe except 1h in fallout 2(not my type of RPG). It's nice to watch such guide for a noobie like me :). Also comments are top notch, making sure that everybody is on the same page(with no wrong assumptions). Keep up the good work!

I've never played a fallout game in my life, but I have friends in love with it so I gave the show a try and holy shit! Probably the best show Amazon has done! I do love the boys, but this first season was incredible! So glad that fans of the game get the show they deserve

only thing i truly hope, as a hardcore fan since Fallout in 1997..i only hope they'll feature Ron Perlman, at least for a cameo "war never changes.."

According to Tim Cain, China fired first, because the FEV was considered a war-crime in active development, and after caught, the defense contractor didn't shut it down, they just moved it to the facility where it was accidentally discovered, a generation after everything went kaboom.

I'll be curious to see if it's a close match, or loose adaptation. Either way, I'll give it a try. But I've caught at least a few cynical jokes at the expense of our protagonist that pierce through the veil of innocence, so at least that's in the spirit of Fallout's setting.

Sadly i didnt any supermutants in the show, not even a hint. Maybe they did die out in california and was scattered across the us wasteland.

It's funny that the wasteland is far more economically stable and far less brutally sadistic than the capitalism intending to profit from making it happen.

The whole oil running out in Fallout was blatantly borrowed from the Mad Max movies, that’s the reason why it’s in Fallout! In fact the outfit worn by Mad Max in The second film, The Road Warrior, is available to wear in every single Fallout game.

It’s actually a misconception that the transistor wasn’t invented in the Fallout Universe. It actually was!

A big misconception regarding the fallout timeline. There is no divergence between our world and the Fallout universe. It’s a theme, a Post Apocalyptic look of Retrofuturism. The imagination of what the people in the 1950s believed the future would look like nuked to hell with an additional 200 years of radiation.

Awesome breakdown. But the mustache man shouldn’t be vilified until you research what “schools” taught in each country at the time.

How did divergent technologies in the Fallout universe allow a black woman to become a senior executive at the most powerful company in America? In our universe she wouldn't have even been employed as a secretary at any corporate. How did this huge societal change happen?

I'll admit I dropped a bollock on Alaska been an American territory and not part of Canada (which is a good argument for why you should Google a location and not just trust the map on your wall) 😂 but I'm pretty sure the rest has the right of it. The intention isn't to be some deep lore dive for hard-core fans its to help inform people on the outside looking in who may watch the show casually. Instead of expending the energy to type out a what is in reality a comment that has absolutely no value to anyone whatsoever (most people often watch the video before diving into the comments, and for those that do dive in first or while watching "don't bother watching" often just makes people watch the video to see why you think that, so your not saving anyone any time) you could have instead put that energy to better use in contesting and correcting the points that you believe are wrong. That way a friendly dialogue can open up and the people who come to the comments can actually learn and see the opinions and viewpoints of others. I'm sure there's stuff you can pick apart in this video (it was made on a serious time crunch at the request of a viewer) but "don't waste your time" and a petty uninspired insult helps absolutely no one 😂 Honestly I see comments like this and wonder why you would even bother to watse the time to type it out instead of just moving along and I don't mean that with any kind of hostility, it genuinely perplexes me why people do this, your not the only one 😂 All the same if you'd like to tell us what we got wrong (without resorting to the childish cliche responses of "everything" or "what didn't you get wrong") I'd love to update the pinned comment with corrected information to help others who are only just diving into the series ( which is the target audience of this video) I know you have a negative opinion of the video, but all the same I do appreciate you tuning in to watch it space Jesus! An easy way to remember what's going on is if the character is a straight white guy they're probably the bad guy and if it's a woman or person of color then they're just the most intelligent and wonderful person to have ever existed.

The Brotherhood is isolationist, borderline zenophobic towards outsiders, and attacks anyone with tech that they want to take for themselves. They are only heroes in Todd Howard's west coast chapter, because he really REALLY likes this faction for some reason. By all means they should be on the verge of extinction due to both their isolation on the East Coast, and insistance of picking fights with everyone, including the NCR. Speaking of the NCR, LA is canonically a core state of the Republic, with a massive city at its centre, relative safety and total NCR control. According to the timeline, it's a post-post-apocalypse, which means civilisation is back in full swing. That is why New Vegas takes place on the new frontier, where everything is still up for grabs. But I guess Bethesda really can't wrap its head around it. Still hoping the series ends up ok, but only hoping.

Step one. Know that this show is entirely non cannon and is just an attempted character assassination of the fallout games. Made by someone who has either never played the games, or doesn't give a shit
