Another notable small detail in Reach is in the level Lone Wolf. There are corpses of various other Spartan 3s around the level. If you count all of them there are 13 in total. Including Noble 6 that makes 14. This is a reference to the "Noble 14" which were a group of players that tried to keep the multiplayer servers for Halo 2 running as long as possible. It happened a few months before Reach launched and Bungie almost certainly thought the idea of players trying to keep fighting to keep the game going against impossible odds was unusually similar to the last level of the game they were working on.

The co-op section hit the nail on the head. I dislike so many multiplayer games because they're mostly competitive, and the co-op typically has elements that discourage or at least fail to incentivise cooperation. I haven't played l4d2 in a decade and it's still my favorite co op game because it truly demands teamwork and never encourage selfish behavior.

One of my favorite things about reach was its "faithfulness" to combat evolved. Med packs made a return and as you mentioned enemy gibberish dialog. But reach also follows a similar campaign structure. The third mission is a snipper stealth mission, just like in CE and many of the later missions have you revisiting earlier locations (just like in CE). Cortana's design has more in common with CE than 3 or 2 and the assault rifle holds way too much ammo as it should. While reach had a new, gritty, and detailed artstyle compared to the previous games, the armor of the mkIII spartans resembles the MC armor in CE more than it does in 2 or 3. I dont think many other studios would go to such leangths to make a prequel game feel like it takes place before an existing game while still trying out new mechanics.

Reach changed my life fr. First halo I spent hours and hours on I remember sitting in custom game lobbies on 360. I even remember I “dated” this girl and after that I “dated” her friend we used to all chill on assassination towers 😂😂. Good times fr

Im 13, when I was 6 years old I completed the halo reach campaign on normal mode, now earlier this year in december, I completed halo reach on heroic. Im now currently trying to complete legendary. Halo reach is by far my most favorite halo ever. Nothing will replace it.
