hard to say the numerical impact on HP without dynoing the car before and after (though berk may have actually done this about 10 years back). the car feels more responsive and certainly likes to rev higher with the setup on but the primary benefits are for sure in the exhaust note & tone

@apexpxlАй бұрын
didn’t catch this til now! I’d say with any car, so long as you keep up with maintenance items or any components that wear, you should be good with either option. Both will be fun though i’d say you need to build e82 a bit to have as much fun as and f22 out of the box (just my opinion though i’m comparing vs an M240i i drove a few years back) That said, once you build any car properly (e82), it’ll be an absolute blast to drive! If you need creature comforts like carplay or driver assistance and electric steering, F22 is the best way to go.

Just checked out your channel and I watched your Burble video recently! Super helpful. Wouldn’t mind a little help diving into MHD if i retune the car at some point 🙏🏼
@JasonJoyrides3 ай бұрын
@@apexpxl yeah stage 1+ was V1.60. Happy to answer any questions you have about MHD. My videos cover most of what I have found so far on the N55e platform. For canyon driving I will say you might like V1.84 maps better because the throttle delivery is smoother and takes away the abrupt throttle input when coming out of corners or accelerating from a rolling stop. The V1.84 maps are slightly slower for me however.
@apexpxl3 ай бұрын
@JasonJoyrides ah interesting - i’ll play around with this soon. Always figured the dead space at 1-2% throttle depression was due to the pedal itself. just learned to roll onto the gas more smoothly instead but never considered it could be a throttle mapping issue through some software. Looking forward to playing around with it. Any downsides or risks i should keep in mind?
@JasonJoyrides3 ай бұрын
@@apexpxl I believe that ultimately it is a software related issue on the side of BMW. Check out service bulletin 12-15-14. Apparently some people had it fixed under warranty by BMW by simply a software update. I think you can still have BMW do it but it costs a couple hundred bucks. But ultimately the V1.60 maps are much touchier than the V1.84 maps. You can still feel the dead space is there, but throttle engagement is less abrupt and the engine doesn’t seem to have that slop feeling when you get on it coming out of a corner

Bilstein B12 coil overs with Swift Springs and Vorshlag Camber Plates. Pretty dialed for now but you can always do more and more. I recently did a Berk Race and it sounds pretty mean. Race cat too. Keep up the build. I get sad as some move on to the next car on videos.
sounds like a pretty comprehensive build! definitely having fun building this car. rest assured it won’t be going anywhere… there will only be adding another if anything 🤝
Sounds very good man, love the content!
appreciate you as always 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love it ! Please post more ! Are you still on stock diff?
haha thank you! not any more, swapped for an LSD 🤙🏼
Looks sooooo good without the stickers!
much cleaner for sure! i’ll get some more shots of it up on here 👍🏼
Well made video bro and nice exhaust setup
appreciate it! overdue for an updated sound check 😛
i just went buy their hq and picked up the street today in black. if anyone lives in southern california call them and ask about cash discount. save you about a bill. i put the mids on a few months ago. had a dinan muffler but it was almost 10 yrs old. hope it sounds better. race is the way to go if you keep your cat. i got a race cat cuz the smell was to much with catless. miss the extra horses but i like windows down.
🙏🏼
@@apexpxl Berk let me try the race exhaust. Can't wait to install. Do you know what the top bolt hole is for. Those absorption rubber things on stock exhausts?
not exactly sure what you’re referring to but the rubber bits are hangers to it doesn’t vibrate like crazy. made to dampen some of the noise and vibrations
@@apexpxl there is a flat bracket welded on top with 4 holes. one has threading for a bolt. came with a washer and nut that looks like the same size as the threading. stock exhaust have a bracket and threaded hole for a rubber cylinder that I think is for noise/vibration reduction.
Hellooo love youre beautiful piece of a car, nice video! One question thou, is that vermillion red??
appreciate it - it’s vermillion red metallic, yep! Teaser: the stickers are gone irl so i’ll put together a video with how she looks soon!
how much hp does this add? or is it just performance
hard to say the numerical impact on HP without dynoing the car before and after (though berk may have actually done this about 10 years back). the car feels more responsive and certainly likes to rev higher with the setup on but the primary benefits are for sure in the exhaust note & tone
please give me some advice, I've been suffering for a week now I have an f22 220d. I am madly in love with this car, but it lacks dynamics and sound I was planning to take the f22 235i/ f30 335i xdrive but now I have found the perfect 135i e82 2011 / DCT STOCK I am glad that it is cheaper even than my car , but I am afraid that I will be able to drive an old and less beautiful car than the f22 I can't choose, since I've never driven an e82, and the nearest test drive is 2,000 kilometers away from me) i do need modern technical things such a big screen or side assists
didn’t catch this til now!
Looks great
it’s grown on me for sure 😁
one and 2 series are gorgeous. and compact. i wish we had them in malaysia. we only have the wagon version and the 3 series. i myself own a 3 series but sometimes i feel like its too big, especially for city driving.
they’re great little cars! wish we had the 1 series wagon / hatch in the states!
i like the yappin
haha i’ll keep a balanced mix on the channel moving forward 🫡
currently got a stage 2 fbo 320i n20, haha yes it’s a 4 cyl but it packs quite a punch, i’m looking for more ofc, do you think it’s worth getting a 2012 135i? you seem to enjoy it but i can’t seem to think it’s worth the extra 50hp or so but than again i really want more power!
i’m a big advocate for balanced cars with shorter wheelbases and lower power. that said, i think the 135i platform is a ton of fun for the money and offers lots of flexibility for a build tailored to your preferences. that said, it won’t be without its headaches. if i had to guess, your set up is much more reliable than most +12 year old cars out there. if i were you, id be patient and on the look out for a clean, low mileage example. your set up sounds like plenty of fun though! enjoy it 🤙🏼
The car sounds and looks amazing bro!!
Really appreciate it ❤️🙏🏼
was excited until i saw it was an automatic lol
Manual would be nice but DCT is so solid i don’t mind the lack of “experience”
@@apexpxlits j a lot more fun man
@michaelsavvas974 agreed - i may have a solution to that coming this summer 👀 till then, since i daily the car in LA traffic, the DCT is the perfect blend of daily use and weekend canyon fun time 🤙🏼
Are the stickers for an event or are they always there?
they were for a track day a while back when i didn’t have anything done to the car yet. At this point they’re just a meme. They’ll be coming off soon 😅
Which MHD version are you on? V1.60 or V1.84?
I honestly have no idea. Though I do plan on diving into MHD fully at some point on the channel. The previous owner set up the stage 1+ tune about 3 1/2 years ago (not sure if that narrows it down to 1.6 or not?)
Just checked out your channel and I watched your Burble video recently! Super helpful. Wouldn’t mind a little help diving into MHD if i retune the car at some point 🙏🏼
@@apexpxl I believe that ultimately it is a software related issue on the side of BMW. Check out service bulletin 12-15-14. Apparently some people had it fixed under warranty by BMW by simply a software update. I think you can still have BMW do it but it costs a couple hundred bucks. But ultimately the V1.60 maps are much touchier than the V1.84 maps. You can still feel the dead space is there, but throttle engagement is less abrupt and the engine doesn’t seem to have that slop feeling when you get on it coming out of a corner
I went from Solstice GXP to a 135I, and was very pleased with the stock exhaust. The solstice was an incredible engine, but very quiet with the stock exhaust on it. The 135 is very refined, and then when you get on it, it definitely comes alive. even with the stock exhaust.
Well said. hard to beat the N55 in terms of exhaust note, even stock. turns out this was the M Performance exhaust but even still, very nice from factory
very nice car bro, keep up the hard work
thank you! 🙏🏼
What camp ground is that
Leo Carrillo Campground in Malibu 🤙🏼
would this exhuast work on a 2011 128i?
hard to say not knowing the configuration of your stock exhaust. i don’t think it’ll be a plug and play fit but there’s tons of options out there for N52
@@apexpxl what options are there? I really like the berk exhausts would some of them fit? What things should I be looking out for?
@jasonchen7619 looks like VRSF has a nice option for your car. Can’t say as though all the Berk pieces will mount properly with your car. you could always buy the exhaust and pay a shop to make it work (fabricate mounts, etc). Would need to take a look under your car and measure some pieces to see what would work. I’d recommend hitting the forums for your car and see what others have done / what works best!
Lemme get your old front bumper 🤣. Did you need the 1M front quarter panels for the bumper to fit correctly?
hit me up if you’re serious on IG (@apexpxl) and you’ve got it
Dude please stop talking and just drive the damn car. We know how good the car looks that's why we're here.
point taken 🫡 will dive the damn thing more on cam
Is this really the stock exhaust?
it was the “performance” exhaust from BMW, yep
@@apexpxl damn it sounds super good. I gotta buy a 135i with the n55.
@why8410 they’re great sounding cars
The 1M front bumper gives the 1 whole new character.
definitely a more aggressive look for sure
Wait how did u fit 359m wheels on a 135? I have a 135i and I had to put vmrs
it’s a bit of a pain but full KW suspension, Vorshlag camber plates with -2.5 camber up front, and folded & cut fenders front and rear… even so i still scrape on dips and parking lot entrances. If you want it bad enough, it can be done 💪🏼😜
VMRs look great and Apex makes a great option too

that moment when the comment makes the video editor smile 🙏🏼 appreciate you
That 135i might save your life, I know mine did. I was at a full stop at an intersection when I got rear-ended by a woman driving an SUV (no license, no insurance - of course). I got seriously hurt, but I survived. She was going at estimated 50 MPH. The chassis bent nearly 90 degrees at the point of impact. The engine automatically shut off and rear backseat head supports popped up. When I recovered enough I went to look at the car. There was no leak from the fuel tank. It was sad seeing her completely wrecked, but she did her job.
wow - thank you for sharing your story! so sorry to hear your 1er was totaled but glad to hear everyone was okay. so many stories of people walking away from an accident due to the level of safety BMWs provide! 💪🏼 hopefully there’s another tiny bummer back in your ownership (now) or in the near future!
@@apexpxl hey dude, thanks for the reply. I did indeed get another BMW...this time a 2013 135is! 6 speed manual, convertible with the technology package. For a 2013, the bluetooth works great.
@normandy1140 love to hear it!
It is 2024 and I am in Oklahoma. Picked up a 2013 135I Cabrio. Love the Engine and love the chassis. Such a fun little car. BMW just don’t make them like they used to. I am a little older. 48 to be exact and this is my first 1 series and my first Cabrio. Thanks for the video. Regards Man.
thanks for sharing, Brian! they’re great little cars with so much potential with modding. enjoy your 1er!
