It’s worth considering what caused the resistor to blow. The problem was caused by the blower motor bearings wearing out on my fiesta so replacing the resistor was just a temporary fix and needed doing again when the blower motor was replaced.

It certainly does the job.I find a quick diagonal slot cut into the bearing race and a couple of good hits with cold chisel and hammer 10 times faster.By the time you set up bearing puller and stuff around I can take 4 races off with the cut and hit method. Great video for those learning.Keep it up.

People have to start putting the correct torque specs and processes on these videos as its really dangerous not to. I love the fact these videos should encourage people to want to fix their own cars and not take them to the 90 percent of dodgy or corrupt mechanics. but seriously just saying tighten on critical suspension and drive train parts could end up with people loosing their lives.

I read not to open the bottom plug as it's not intended as a drain plug. How accurate that is I don't know. Also you jacking the car up like that limits how much drains out from the gearbox.

Personally I would raise the whole car level enough to work on with 4 axle stands with two heavy Jack's as a back up , and make sure you do it all when the oils are hot so it runs out faster and easier.
