    I my opinion just to operate it is far easier, more intuitive. It has a steering wheel and a fwd and a rev foot peddle to make it very similar to operating any standard vehicle. Nearly any one who drives could jump on, with minimal training, and just go for it. I find that for me comfort and operator ergonomics better on the Husqvarna. Also there are a lot less regular maintenance points on the Husqvarna which saves my time each day.

    Hi Jack thanks for your comments. Yes it did work beyond what was stated, by a fair margin, which was very pleasing. If it does ever stop in an area that Husqvarna says it is not guaranteed to work, this was rare in our experience, then the satellites may not be at the right position just at that particular point in time for that exact spot. No biggy just move it to the open and restart. For sure let us know what your experiences are with the new EPOS and how it performs in your situation.

    Yes it was quite the supprise. Since this video we have demoed the Rider Collect in some very heavy conditions. The worst was at a government sponsored pasture trial. The grass they needed to collect and weigh was very thick and between 300mm and 400mm high. I cant say the mower handled it with ease because it didn't as it was damn hard work but it did do the job as we drove it very slow so everything could keep up. The lush pasture grass we were collecting was long, tough, heavy and quite wet but the Rider Collect ran rings around the other machine they were trying to use.

Jarrah is an excellent firewood timber, tough and strong long lasting construction timber and a very beautiful furniture timber.

    What size bar is on this? Can it use a bigger bar?

  • @noelelliott
    @noelelliott5 жыл бұрын

    Hi WC the bar used on that saw was a 16" bar cutting an 18" log. As you can see it did it quite well and only cutting from one side. Can you fit a longer bar? Yes. Is it advisable to fit a longer bar? No. This is a small 40cc chainsaw that has been built as a light weight all purpose saw with its optimum bar length at 16". If you go bigger than this you will take too much of the available power away from cutting and put it towards driving the extra length of chain around a much longer bar. By doing this performance and operator satisfaction are both affected negatively.

    Hi madrx2. Great question. This saw is aimed at the semi professional user like farmers, fencing contractors, firewood collectors etc. It is not an "XP" saw. All the XP saws are designed and built the be used hard ALL day every day. The 562XP, for example is a great saw with excellent power to weight ratio. It has been built to more exacting specifications, finer tolerances, better balancing of all moving parts and more. It is like taking a super street car and turning it into a competitive race car, everything is tricked up and taken to the next level. You will be able to see that when we load the next video on the 572XP cutting the same log immediately afterwards. The 572XP looks the same, except for a bigger air filter, is seemingly the same engine and other components but performs at lot better, near 20% in our trial.

    wood also looked pretty dry which slows things down. try a shorter bar/chain

  • @noelelliott
    @noelelliott6 жыл бұрын

    Hi 0x00zero the longer bar was just for giggles but let me address your comment on the slow cutting speed. The video was done to show that having a big chainsaw is not the way to go in smaller sized timber. Let me explain. The slow cutting speed comes from the fact that the 3120XP has a rev limiter so it cannot over rev. What this means is that the max chain speed is limited ie it just wont scream out like other saws when the load is a lot lighter than it is designed to handle. Also the 3120XP runs a 0.404in saw chain which means it has approx 20% less cutting teeth per foot of chain than a 0.325 chain does. So therefore when you multiply the slower chain speed and less cutters per foot together and cut a small log which doesn't require just raw power to pull the chain through at max rpm you cannot help but to get a slower cutting speed. Check out the two videos at kzread.info/head/PL_VIr09L3-8TlPUxc0MeIkzeEfrvMYn8b and you will see that in a bigger log, 650mm, that the 3120XP is nearly 30% faster than the 395XP (the second biggest Husqvarna chainsaw). Also we did test cuts in the bigger log (video not uploaded) that you see in those videos and the 395XP was a good 45 secs slower in the 900mm log than the 3120XP for only just one cut. This is where the sheer power of the 3120XP come into its own. I hope this clarifies a few things for you.
