Is it heringbone? We say "Fischgrätenparkett" :-) Love it.
The problem with concrete is that it can be compromised because its a continuous solid unit. Look at the quakes in turkey a few years ago or the condo's in FL those concrete structures crumbled. However, traditional masonry buildings made of brick wouldn't have this problem as they move independently from each other
You are brilliant. Love this presentation.
How does drywall attach to concrete?
How much do you charge for a LNO?
Does group change from 6 to 4 require ALT 1? or it's possible to get Letter of No Objection without it.
thank you for talking fast and being concise
hell yeah bro, I don't want a fancy house, I want a practical house
Excellent job to me. You were more thorough and directly to the point than any other architect I’ve seen on KZread. Thanks. I’m a fan for life bro 😎
Nice work
Nice summary. While all possibilities of insulation are correct, in reality only outside insulation is used (and ICF forms). Putting insulation inside concrete home is a dreadful idea. I'd consider a typical EPS ICF a bad workaround, though there are some systems using board inside and EPS outside. Putting EPS inside is really silly: You'll use all accumulation properties of the concrete, which are otherwise excellent and you won't be able to hang anything on the wall, without some crazy workarounds.
Zoning and Future Land Used is what gets people confused ...
Holy Smokes !!!! Gorgeous 😮.
Excellent)) Thx a lot)
Superb explanation, u not only understand FAR , u come to know other requirements like setback, height restrictions etc, super excellent explanation
So nice to see a Brownstone that doesn't have the Dining-room in the Hallway
I love concrete
Nice! And at least, they didn't tear out all the architectural detail, or go nuts with a paintbrush.
Useful video. However that concrete house is awful (and I love concrete and steel and glass). Beauty is also sustainable…never gets a mention.
Thanks for this video!!!
This is the worst concrete house I have ever seen.
Hello Jorge thank you for uploading, the house is so nice Greetings from Ethiopia
I'm Ugandan. With 2m Usd. Can i afford this
This is probably closer to $5 million or more because of the location. But you can find similar properties in New York for $2 million.
What’s the price
@joebutton9244perhaps add a zero. 😝
Very helpful, thank you so much for putting in the time and effort! 👍 Great channel for many frauds working in NYC.
NYC. Hard pass.
So what's the cost per sq ft and how much would this rent for?
Thanks for all the important information! Off topic, I love old architecture. Is there a program here or in Europe, you can recommend to study the different forms of architecture? I'm a retired teacher but have always thought architecture was my true calling. Thanks for all your help!
Do you have any resources on using concrete in earthquake zones? We're looking at a predicted magnitude 8, and because a concrete house is going to be there for a while, it's going to be around until that 8 happens again and again.
George, this place is really fantastic. Greetings from. South africa.
Beautiful early USSR...
Okay.. I get the "landmark" thing BUT, if I BUY a home I'm doing whatever the hell I want to do with it. 😂😂😂
Thank you so much that's so helpful.. I wish we can work together someday
Fantastic video.
Put a damn bidet in, learn to wash your butts Americans!
How much more expensive (if it is) is a concrete house that's exposed on the exterior and interior? I just think about all the additional costs like framing the interior, drywall, painting. Same can be said for the exterior, you now need insulation, stucco, siding? Does the concrete truly end up costing more if you already have so many additional costs that need to be added? Just wondering.
Good rundown. I’m a construction worker planning on building my own home out of concrete
Love that you kept the older details like the lion’s head
Beautifully done!
Hi, great video. Des Building Square Footage include areas like basement, elevator, and balcony?
Thanks, great video! Fresh air intake ideas for days when air quality is hazardous?
Excellent Video, thank you!
Jorge what about putting two buildings on one lot ?
Thank you so much for this. Insightful!
i think the therm "breathble wall" might be misunderstood in this video. to my knowledge, a breatheble wall breaths vapor not air. we use blown in celluoloce and the wall needs to be air thight but vapor open. athorwise condecation wil take place inside the wall. light staw clay walls finisht whit a natural plaster breathts, and is a lot more sustainble than synthetic or miniral insulation. it alos creats a haelty inviorment. Unlike pur and pir insulation. An athor alternative for the instant hot water is a heat battery. like a salt hydrates or phase change battery. This way you don't need t store electricity in battery's. Wich are more expansive and less sustainble. The heat battery can be charged with solar hot water collectors and a heat pump powerd by green enegry. A house schould indeed be build to last a long time. But, ad the end of its life. The materials used, schould not and up on a landfill. but be biodergdable or endlessly recycled.
I don’t have anywhere to put my plate!

“All the window replacement have to go thru landmarks, there is a big process for that.” Pardon the ignorance but what does that mean? Is landmarks some sort of inspection process or something?
It means the property has been deemed as having historical/architectural significance and thus there are strict rules Re: what can or cannot be changed. (It's also worth noting that not all Landmark designations are equal: they can vary significantly in terms of what is or is not allowed.)
In the UK we would call that Grade Two Listed; of some architectural merit germane only to the original exterior………..Grade One Listed would mean a serious ancient monument/castle.
It means the subcontractors have to stand around doing nothing while the hysterical society decides what they can do. It’s why the contractor took his bid and tripled it because she/he has to keep paying so the subs don’t leave for another job while waiting.
It means there are many elements the new owner cannot change under municipal law.
Number 20 is the best point here and also Number 18 that instant hot water is crazy for buildings that aren’t houses, art studios for examples-where you don’t require a bath or shower or laundry
How much for that house
