    Respectfully disagree about it being any kind of successor to the Grom. Other than being Honda minis they have nothing in common. Completely different bikes and ride experiences.

    I have a 939 and a V4s 25th Anniversario. The V4s will eat you alive. I use the 939 for local fun and V4s for getting out. Pure adrenaline rush. If you want torque, drop into race mode.

    If you afford to own two bikes, I’d suggest you Lee the beemer and buy a Harley with pipes if you like raw character. Go test ride a new 114 Harley with a stage 1 kit. Those bikes have pull and torque like 1000cc sport bike.

    I absolutely LOVE my V4. But the heat is just crazy. I got hardcore bad burns on my calves the day I collected it because I went straight into a 3 hour round trip from the dealership, wearing jeans. The hot air scorched me, I had deep burns, blisters lasted about 2 weeks and oozed daily. Probably should have gone to the Dr... It's a good way to make sure you always wear the right gear, because If you don't, it cooks you alive.

    Its a really nice bike, but unfortunately/fortunetaly I have chosen KTM with their 890 engine... (despite of their issues) this engine in BMW is like lacking of something, rest of bike is perfectly fine, especially handling and how easy is to go through corners.

    899/959 vs 1199/1299. Something very odd I found when buying mine was the insurance for the smaller bikes were way more (almost double) than the bigger more expensive models. My only thought is the 899/959 are bought by younger buyers because they are cheaper and crashed more often.

    I currently have four Duc superbikes, one of each generation of twins except the 916 family. TBH my 1299S in many ways is my least favorite for a few reasons. It is fast as hell and might be the best-looking bike I have ever seen. Seating position is the most comfortable of all of them. I love the technology and design thought that Ducati put in the bike. In any measurable way it is the best bike I have ever owned. But... Hate the heat it puts out. Even with the heat shield kit it is miserable in the summer, even while moving. Considered having the pipes ceramic coated to try and help. I've never changed the exhaust but it frankly sounds tinny stock, unlike the booming sound from my 851 and 1098R. No cat exhaust system might help with heat too. Not a huge fan of the dash. The relative elegance of the 999 dash is my personal favorite. It is a major PITA to work on, just changing the screen took way too much time. All previous bikes to this are easier in that way. Fixed mirrors look nice but are frankly stupid to have on a bike, period. Engine top end is incredible, mid range is no slouch but you would expect more from 1285cc The handling is quite different to the tube frame bikes, more lively and light. That could be good or bad depending on your preference. I've owned it six years but never really along with the switchgear, even when it was the only one I rode for weeks. The little buttons are annoying. 1098 is more intuitive IMO. And finally it doesn't really have a "relaxed" mode. It always wants to GO and go fast. The others can just cruise if that is what you want that day. Wet mode maybe but it seems pointless unless you get caught out in a downpour.

  • @donais
    @donais3 ай бұрын

    @@Vynzent Agreeeed! The metallic (and other color) plastics are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 There's so much opportunity to mod these bikes (even just the plastics with different color combos, or windshield variants, or handlebar finishes, etc), it's really a shame we don't see more from Honda, especially if the parts are already in production elsewhere. It's not like cosmetic mods would change environmental law compliance or anything. I saw that in Peru there's even an official Navi Club run by Honda. They get together all over the country and do rides. Since this bike is happiest in cities, it'd be pretty cool if we saw some Navi rides in the denser US cities and they weren't limited to exclusive events for influencers.

    I can't make up my mind between the M1000R and the KTM 1390 SDR Evo. They're gonna cost around the same over here in Finland. I'd be mostly doing street/occasional highway/3x track days per season. And ofc there has to be the flex part, but both these bikes have it. I'm worried about the bar/peg/mirror vibrations and high speed instability that many reviewers have talked about. Did you experience that? Altough KTM has upped their game, the BMW sort of still feels more refined and I'm sure will keep it's value better after a 6y PCP. And I do love the BMW app side, KTM's app is just rubbish. But then again the new KTM has upped their endgame, has way more usable torque and overall seems like a more useable bike. Here I go again.. Which would you take home with you at the end of the day? Cheers for the lovely vid!

    Hi and Thanks for an excellent video!! I wonder how it drives? I am choosing between a 1000R and 1000RR but will probably choose the 1000R because it will be almost half the insurance cost. But I'm worried if it's hard with all the wind you get because there's no windshield? It's a matter of taste, of course. But I wonder about your and others' opinion?? Thanks

    I have the s1000r m package and I love it. Imo if you are not going to be tracking the bike much then I would suggest getting the s1000. If you are just looking for a daily driver it then the m1000 would just be a flex.😂 if you can afford it then I would say go for it. The wind isn’t that bad once you get used to it but you can definitely feel it.
