In your example, are the two symbols you selected ones that were missed when others like them were setup, or are they just small numbers of symbols that weren't setup in the first place? For example, after the symbol "9" is assigned DMC 739, it shows 13 symbols like that on the page. Were they the only symbols like that on the page, or were they missing from the initial setup? Can I use this process to check for missing symbols on each page I initially setup?

I would now use Erase Mode to view what symbols are available and which ones have been setup - have a watch of this video for details (kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKCn07uBebfFfps.html). To answer your question, the symbols were all automatically setup by Markup R-XP as this particular PDF file contained the necessary data to do so. Hi, for Markup R-XP to work with any chart it must be straight and flat - that means there should be little to no bend in the chart lines of your image. This can be caused by creases, crumples in the paper, curled up corners or just the paper not being flat on the surface when the photo is taken. Most of our users tend to get their paper patterns scanned and that creates a PDF document. From there, the PDF file can be uploaded into Markup R-XP. You can also pick up lots of helpful hints and tips if you join our FaceBook group 'Markup R-XP Users' . Thanks, James

I store all my PDF files in Dropbox but Markup R-XP will not allow me to load from there. What do I do now?
Hi Judy, you should be able to access DropBox from the file selector - click on the Browse button to open more options to search from. f you’re using an iPhone or iPad, you’ll need to go to the iOS “Files” app and make sure the cloud services you want to use are turned on (click on the three dots in the upper right corner, select edit, and turn on the cloud services you use). Then go back to the Markup R-XP app and try to access Dropbox again. You might need to also turn it on in Markup R-XP by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner and selecting edit. It might be worth joining our FB group 'Markup R-XP Users' so you could ask other users how they do it. Thanks, James
@@markuprxp I am working on a Windows 11 Computer and the only options I am given are Recent and Downloads . No browse button.
Was so excited to subscribe to your app, I watched all the videos and knew it was my preferred cross stitch app. But today, I found an email saying my subscription was cancelled. Not sure why so I’m sad. Maybe I’ll figure it out at some point so I can use the app.
Hi Wendy, if you're having trouble with your subscription head over to our website's FAQ page (markuprxp.co.uk/the-faq-page/) and work through the steps in our 'I've paid for my licence but I'm getting a warning message, what should I do?' question. Hopefully, that will help. Thanks, James
This is wonderful! I wish I’d remembered to look here last week. Thank you for these tutorials.
Super clear and helpful, thank you!
I need to know how to upload the paper pattern. Do I take a photo of it then add that? It doesn’t actually explain this in the video. Please can you let me know.
Wow this is amazing. The one thing I have not found is how does this program handle backstitching on a patterns. Could you please do a video?
Hi Kirrily, at present Markup R-XP doesn't have any support for backstitch, but this is something we are looking into. Thanks, James
This app is amazing :) Curious to know if it’s possible to reset the overlapping rows/columns once a project has been started. I can’t find where in the app where it might be found.
Hi Michele, yes it's possible :). You just need to adjust the grid boundaries on each page. Have a watch of this video for details kzread.info/dash/bejne/n3Z61tyiod3Ud7Q.html. If there are lots of pages and you're just starting your project, it may be quicker just to reload your chart and specify the overlap to exclude at that point. Thanks, James
Thank you for this - and thank you for constantly working on and improving this program. I wanted to know if it was (or could be) possible to re-arange the charts under ALL. It would also be nice to be change the names for those tabs! Just a thought!
Hi, this is currently on our backlog - head over to our Trello board (trello.com/b/4H55XykZ/markup-r-xp) for more details on what we are working on next. Thanks, James
@@markuprxp Thank you - wow that board is impressive! I'm excited at what's coming!
Do you have to re-export it every time you work in one or the other. I use my phone while out and my iPad while at home. Or once you export it, it will always stay synced?
HI Kisha, at present the Export/Import process will need to done each time to transfer your projects from one device to another. We are looking at implementing a service in the future to handle this process for you, so there will be no need to Export/Import between devices. Thanks
I'm wondering if you've addressed how to handle patterns where the app picks up one symbol as if it's multiple symbols. For example, I might have a square, and there may be 4 different symbols on the markup key each with a few of the stitches that should be under the square, if that makes sense. Thanks so much for all the helpful videos!
HI Danielle, you should be able to use the symbol sensitivity slider to adjust which symbols get picked up. This can vary depending on the quality of the underlying chart. If I understand you correctly, have a watch of this video which I'm hoping will explain things kzread.info/dash/bejne/qp2J2LBwmNy-krQ.html. Thanks, James
@@markuprxp Thanks very much! I did end up having to manually select the icons but I find your videos very helpful :)
This is great! I was looking for a cross stitch Markup app that could load a pdf from the pattern generator I used because even Pattern Keeper couldn't load the file... With how many useful tutorials there are explaining solutions for this app, it's awesome!
Thank you for this, but my chart is A3 and I want to photograph it in two A4 pages to add as a multiple page project. Is that something that can be done, please?
Hi Teresa, if you multiple photos of your chart, all you need to do is to combine them into a single PDF using a free online PDF editor (like www.sejda.com/pdf-editor) and then you should be able to load all the pages as a single project into Markup R-XP.
Brilliant, and good suggestion. I shall give it a go. I am still on Free Trial, but am so encouraged that even if it is just to finally finish this one 25 year old WIP that I have rediscovered I think that the anual subscription is worth it. All the best.
Hello I am not able to upload password protected PDF's. I do have the password but it's just not uploading at all or give me an option to use the password.
Markup R-XP currently doesn't support password protected PDFs - this is a limitation of the library we use to load PDF files. However, if allowed, there are sites that may allow you remove the password, e.g. www.pdfforge.org/online/en/remove-pdf-password
