Hi, to park a thread simply press and hold for a couple of seconds on the stitch where you like to park. A menu will popup. Select where you would like to park from that menu. Thanks, James

I can't get the app to load the pdf of my pattern. It won't even show up as an option when I can see it saved on my computer. Am I doing something wrong?

Is there a way to markup a highlighted symbol with let’s say a teal color instead of whatever the dmc number might be? I am weird and prefer one color to the multicolored on my marked off pattern. It makes it easier for me to read if there isn’t 80 different colors trying to get my attention on one page

Hi Angel, sure there is. Just select the symbol you are interested in and click on the colour in the Symbol Title Bar to change it to whatever you wish. That symbol will then then be associated with that colour.

@@markuprxp is there a way to do it without having to change each and every symbol one by one?

This app is amazing :) Curious to know if it’s possible to reset the overlapping rows/columns once a project has been started. I can’t find where in the app where it might be found.

Hi Michele, yes it's possible :). You just need to adjust the grid boundaries on each page. Have a watch of this video for details kzread.info/dash/bejne/n3Z61tyiod3Ud7Q.html. If there are lots of pages and you're just starting your project, it may be quicker just to reload your chart and specify the overlap to exclude at that point. Thanks, James

Absolutely fantastic app, I couldn’t ask for more, thank you so so very much! How many projects will this app support? I have about 30 on the go. Also, with this new, otherwise perfect version, the symbols (all HAED designs) are not sharp but kind of fuzzy. Thank you in anticipation for your response!

Hi Isabela, Markup R-XP supports up to 100 patterns. If your symbols are a little blurry try uploading your pattern in Extra mode and that should help. Thanks

Hi, this is a lovely APP. But tell me, can I load any pattern into the APP? I am a cross country stitcher doing many different projects. But most of them are no brand projects. Can I still upload them if I have the PDF ready? It somehow doesn't seem to work...... An answer is very appreciated, thanks.

Hi Gabriela, yes you should be able to load any (PDF or paper) chart into Markup R-XP as long as the chart is clear, flat and straight. If you're having a problem getting them loaded and you'd like me to check one of your charts you can upload it via our portal (www.markuprxp.co.uk/Upload) and I can take a quick look for you. Thanks

Enjoying this app and bought the full version have one problem . One problem is one s symbol is missing in its key can I add that symbol?

Hi Enchanted Crafter - yep, you can add that extra symbol. Just click on the symbol button (this starts a symbol search) and then click on the symbol in the chart you are interested in finding and Markup R-XP should then highlight all the similar looking symbols. With that symbol now selected, navigate to the other pages in your project and Markup R-XP should automatically find that symbol for you. I LOVE the app!!!! But I have one question, how to mark where I have “parked” my tread?

Ah! I found it already! Just tap a little longer on the symbol where you want to park your threat and a popup wil be visible asking you in with corner you want to park. Magnificent!

I just purchased the app. I figured out how to take a picture of my pattern and load it. When I try to mark a symbol after stitching it, it colors the entire line in the block that the stitch is in, instead of just the square. What am I doing wrong? I’m using an IPad.

Markup R-XP places a grid over your chart so it knows where to mark off symbols. It sounds like the grid that has been automatically created does not fully cover your chart and is missing some lines. To fix this you just need to manually adjust the grid, see this video for details kzread.info/dash/bejne/n3Z61tyiod3Ud7Q.html. I purchased a cross stitch pattern from Golden Kite, and I’m unable to load it into Markup R-XP. It came to me password protected, and I’m not sure if that’s the problem. I even tried to send it to you to, but was unable to submit it on your website in order for you to see what the problem was. I’d appreciate any suggestions you have since it was an expensive pattern and I don’t want to try using the paper method. Thanks!

@@csndre I contacted Golden Kite, and they did send me a file of the pattern that wasn’t password protected.

Several months ago you shared some info about working with GK patterns. It worked but I didn’t keep the info and can’t find the msg. Have another GK pattern. Could I please get that info one more time. Thank you.

Hello, I am new using the app as well as starting a full coverage project.. thus I am a bit overwhelmed. I have loaded the pdf of a GeckoRouge pattern and in the first page there is a symbol looking like waves that is not fully detected by the symbol search, this means that the same symbol is not highlighted although it’s in the same page. I hope I could explain my problem properly. Thank you in advance ❤

It seems much easier to do on a computer than using my iPad. I had a really hard time with clicking on a touch screen.

Hi Jacki, a lot of our users use iPad and Markup R-XP works really well for them. I know a few of our users also use the Apple pencil which seems to have improved their experience. That might be worth a try. Thanks

How do I select the color pattern when this is on the first page of the pattern?

You should be able to select the first page during the autoload process, but without seeing your chart it's difficult to tell. You could try posting this question in our FB user group 'Markup R-XP Users' and I'm sure our users will help you out. Thanks

Was so excited to subscribe to your app, I watched all the videos and knew it was my preferred cross stitch app. But today, I found an email saying my subscription was cancelled. Not sure why so I’m sad. Maybe I’ll figure it out at some point so I can use the app.

I tested this myself, but I believe it will work on the Kindle Fire. The app will need side-loaded via the Google Store. There are a few posts about this in our Facebook user group 'Markup R-XP Users' that might be worth checking out. Thanks

Hi Jim, the app was originally designed to run on phone and tablet devices. Apple then stated that any mobile apps should be able to run on their macOS devices with the M* chip set. Markup R-XP will run, but there is currently an issue around zooming in on your pattern. We are looking into this and hoping to get a fix in place in a future release. Thanks

I think I got the app last year and I want to cancel before I get charged for the next year and on. It does not seem to have a cancel option on app. Please let me know how to do this. Thanks!

Hi Gloria, if you click on the text area under the pattern in the list it will bring up the Project Settings Form. You can delete your project from there. It might be worth joining our FB group 'Markup R-XP Users' where you'll pick up lots of helpful hints and tips. Thanks

I did this by pressing on the color name/symbol/stitches/stitches used at the top of the screen. Click on the i in the circle for information. There is a place to Edit the name there. I also had a different kit that the colors were not DMC, but they (luckily for me) had listed the DMC equivalents. So I was able to change the name to Marshmallow Pink (honestly!) and then find the DMC number for the color; I labeled it as Marshmallow Pink DMC602 Hope this helps.

Hi, Markup R-XP is being worked on full time to constantly improve and add to its features based on feedback from stitchers like yourself. In addition, there is ongoing reactive support and a whole host of useful new resources being created all the time. In order to support all this activity, we charge a small annual subscription of £14.99 plus any local sales tax for your specific country. In the UK, there is VAT charged at 20%. Thus, the total amount will vary from country to country depending on your local sales tax amount. This is less than the price of a kit or a few skeins of thread for a whole years access to the app. In this way you know you are always working with the most up-to-date markup application and can rely on top class support.

You can upload photos, but for best results most users scan their paper charts. Also, if you have multiple images for a single pattern, you'll need to combine those images into a single PDF document to load into Markup R-XP. You can use most free online PDF editors to do this. Thanks

How can I make 1 file from 4 photos?

Hello I am not able to upload password protected PDF's. I do have the password but it's just not uploading at all or give me an option to use the password.

Markup R-XP currently doesn't support password protected PDFs - this is a limitation of the library we use to load PDF files. However, if allowed, there are sites that may allow you remove the password, e.g. www.pdfforge.org/online/en/remove-pdf-password
