I do love that fans finally got the conclusion that they wanted if not the creator. Hey Arnold! The Movie was…okay. But the Jungle Movie felt most satisfactory. Arnold getting his parents back and knowing what happened to said parents was probably one of the best moments. And I do think this handled Helga x Arnold well working in their moment from the first movie. Bottom line, THIS is a more satisfactory conclusion than what fans first got. As this girl’s reaction is proof of that. 😊 Great job, Craig Bartlett. I tip my hat to you.

Arnold gives her what she wants and tries to hold her hand. Dude is finally realizing the root of your behavior and goes as far as to feel affection for you back. And she still berates him. This is not keeping the essence of the show. This goes to show that she will be an abusive partner.

I remember watching this when it first came out and I was so so happy. they were the first couple I rooted for and finally after yearssss they got together. Childhood completed haha :) I really hope one day we get a show of them older (like college years) and see their relationship grow etc etc

Y’know it’s funny, Usually when I come across videos recorded like this and I hear people’s reactions, I think they tend to ruin the scene as I can’t hear everything that’s happening. With this, however… As a kid of the 90s and early 2000s who loved Hey Arnold SO MUCH, I’ve been waiting SO LONG for this to finally happen that I know I wouldn’t have been able to keep my composure! So hearing you cheer warmed my heart quite a bit!

I'm Brazilian, grew up with Hey Arnold, it's beloved by pretty much my whole generation, I stumbled in this video, loved your reaction and it also made me watch other Hey Arnold videos in English and... I gotta tell you guys, Arnold's voice is the sweetest thing! Including when he's younger, in the flashback of how he met Helga. Boy characters usually sound off in the original for Brazilian audiences, as their voices are too delicated and thin for Portuguese speakers. But Arnold's original voice works so well for my ears! It's thin, but not in a distracting way. And Helga's voice is pretty much the same as the Brazilian dub, which is so fun. Anyway, just wanted to share it as my childhood feels more complete now

I cried after this scene and the movie. This was long awaited back then but after finally witnessing a childhood memory being fulfilled in front of my eyes I felt contentment. There was no more to be done. And that’s why this is still the greatest American cartoon ever made.

Yes, in Hey Arnold! The Movie. She confessed her love to Arnold and kissed him passionately after she got caught red-handed by him, trying to help him in secret. However, Arnold and Helga come to an agreement to dismiss her actions as part of "the heat of the moment", as neither of them were ready to deal with the fallout of the confession. Despite this, the look on Arnold's face after Helga storms off indicated that he's now fully aware of her feelings for him. But in Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, Arnold is witness to Helga's devotion to him: she contributes to getting him to San Lorenzo, escape Lasombra's lair and is the sole reason his parents are reawakened. The two also had a romantic moment while in a near-death experience hanging off a cliff when they gaze into each other’s eyes and realize that they care about each other very much. Near at the end of the movie, Arnold kisses Helga to express his feelings for her. Arnold and Helga do become an official couple afterwards, though likely in an effort to keep the relationship a secret (or at the very least, until she feels ready to express it), Helga continues to act mean towards Arnold in public.
