Right now, I have two boxes of Peeps in my cupboard that are being aged. Both of them have slits in the packaging so that they will get stale. Over the years, I have aged them for more than a month. When I was at work, two of my good friends would give me aged Peeps for Easter.

David: Great stuff, and much appreciated. I love the fact that every step is essentially creative. I did notice that you didn't seem to do any focusing while taking the images, unless you are using rear button focus?

Thanks for sharing this inspiring technique. I just finished doing some icm shots using strings in dark background to experiment. I used a Canon mirrorless camera with 1.5 secs exposure. When I review my images in my laptop at 100% view in Lightroom, I saw a lot of hot pixels particularly in the dark area. 1.5 secs exposure time should not produce hot pixels. Have you come across this? What can I do to prevent this from happening?

Best video on crystal radios I've found so far. Amazing stuff. I'm working with wireless electricity.

I started my career in music and electronics with my Heathkit crystal radio in about 1960 or 61 at the age of 7 or 8 I loved that little radio so much and experimented constantly with antennas and grounds to get the best reception. I was always looking for higher and higher places to run my antennas and the best iron pipes to which I could connect my ground. But the real experiments were in the speaker. The radio came with a little earphone that you stuck in your ear. It got uncomfortable after sleeping with it all night. But, I found the greatest speaker in the world that actually was so loud and had such great fidelity that it changed my life. Are you ready for this revelation? I'll bet you will be able to tell me why this worked so well and it was probably due to its high impedance, but it was the speaker inside a typical telephone handset of the time. You just unscrew the ear piece of the handset, take the wires off the speaker in there, and connect them to the crystal radio! Voila! The perfect listening device! As I said, it changed my life, gave me a loud speaker I could hear from several feet away, and offered terrific fidelity when placed close to my ear all night long as I listened to The Four Seasons. I particularly remember "Candy Girl" sounding like such ear candy and "My Guy" and "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes", and "Puff The Magic Dragon", and "Can't Get Used To Losing You" and so many more that shaped my musical interests at such a critically young age. I went on to invent the Rock-afire Explosion as a young adult that performed in Showbiz Pizza Place through the 80's, and all because of that wonderful little crystal radio.

Great set of images. You have previously mentioned that a mirrorless camera is beneficial to minimise wear and tear. I agree and as a further benefit wonder wherther using electronic shutter if available will still work with your technique or will it lead to an undesirable blur/bend effect?

I am not 100% sure about the IPhone. I do some with Camera FV-5 on my android phone. As for the setting on your camera, I am not familiar with Nikon - just follow the manual's settings to put everything into manual mode. You can go to my website ddayicmart.com to learn more about purchase. Thanks D'Day
