Dan's Everything Outdoors

Dan's Everything Outdoors

Welcome to my new channel. Thank you for taking time out of your day to view my videos.
I have been an outdoor enthusiast ever since I was a young boy growing up in a small Midwest farming town/community. My friends and I would go back into the woods (The Indian Trials) as we called them, and spend entire days exploring, hunting, fishing and building. We also ended up turning some of the trails into backwoods BMX courses.
I joined the military directly out of high school to pursued an education in IT. My friends call me a High Tech Red Neck because of my love and knowledge of technical things but my love for the outdoors and living very simply. I have had a vast amount of experiences in my life and would like to begin sharing what I have learned and what I am still learning. I have over 30 years of recordings and plan to make much of those recordings available to my KZread community.

Great video, I think thats a good plan to use the trekking poles for the awning as they can be adjusted where the tent poles cannot be changed. About your pillow , have you tried that non slip mesh they use for putting under rugs on a slippy floor, I had some issues and it seemed to work ! Take care mate

Before cutting or replacing ANYTHING. Do yourself a favor, find the fuel pump ground connector - driver's side behind the front wheel. Remove the 13 mm bolt sand down the surface on the frame and the contacts and reseat. Would have saved myself a few hours of cutting through the floor board. Removing the old rusted fuel pump. Wresting to install replacement, which was NOT the exact fit. Although, AutoZone sells it as such. Returning and getting the correct pump. Installing and troubleshooting why it still would not start. Come to find out, the issue was always a ground issue. Old pump worked fine when I applied power to it on a bench test. Could have saved @ $200 and hours of frustration. Takes all of 5 minutes to clean the ground contact and test..... Do yourself a favor.

I've seen people use the front side trecking poles in different lengths, so that the rain water just automatically drains out of one side and awning doesn't start sacking.

Is it better than the flambeau pro angler tackle bag. I've been wondering which is better. Need it for trout fishing. For small stream's and not to get wet. But light is another thing ounces= pound at add up fast. Fishing stuff.

Did this same repair to my 04 Avalanche. NJ truck so I spent a good 2 hours banging the ring off the top of the pump. Two of the 3 lines also rusted in the quick disconnects so I had to cut them off and press on new quick disconnects... Got it all done and repaired in one day but boy was my back hurting at the end!

Any tips on preventing the middle from sagging? I'm getting some proper pole solution soon for a milsim airsoft game in May. I'm paid the 30th of April. Going to a store in town soon for some last minute items. Poles being one of them as my sticks are inadequate. I am new to setting up tents so as a first attempt it wasn't bad but needed work as it sagged in the middle. So I think when I do it next time, more guide line use & proper poles! Take more time going corner to corner & setting it up right, more time adjusting it. Any pole suggestions better than trekking poles? I saw these cheap canopy steel extension pole things for example but they look thick & tall. Looking at stores like Canadian tire for just steel, aluminum rods basically I'm thinking right? Is there any equivalent of tent poles that also work well? Can you use more than 4 rods like some for the back for example if it's tied off with guidelines in theory for maximum height lift in the rear? Like up to 5 or 6 maybe even 7 rods? 2 on the sides. 2 up front. 3, 2 or just 1 in the rear like the center?

A red seat post clamp would spice it up a bit as will, plus that quick release clamp is a good way to let your seat, post, and clamp get ripped off in seconds. There aren't any bike shops where I live that carry 24" or 26" BMX bikes so I've had to rely on online reviews for my info. Does this bike have a nice light front end making it easy to pull up for wheelies, kick outs, jumping or bunny hops (12" or more not just 4" to get up the curb) or is the geometry built so it feels glued to the Earth so it hugs the track? I really like the look of the bike and from what I've seen online 28 lbs. is very respectable for a 26"er, 30 to 33 lbs. is normal for anything under $1100.00. Have you ridden any others to compare it to? I'm looking for an urban trickster that's great on streets, jumps and minor tricks & jumps. Hope to hear your thoughts, thanX
