People are being nostalgic about a place they never lived, a time they weren’t alive and cars they’ve never driven lmao.

America never tried to stop Vietnam from being Communist. America did stop China from annexing, Vietnam. Which was its sole intention

Japan in the 80s , 90s 2000s , and right up to 2017 was a very special place Since 2018 (The Rise of social media ) it has become a Westerners Hangout pushing western Ideology which eventually has diluted Japanese culture.....unfortunately ..... Not as cool anymore...... "The new tattoo is not having one"

I bet Clarkson didn‘t expect, that his favorite car would become a Japanese one. Even more so, he adores this car for the fact, that it has all the features which he said Japanese cars are lacking.

I didn't much care for the r32 in the 90's, but I think it's aged nicely, true with a lot of cars from the first half of the 90's. The rounder cars of the late 90's and early 00's haven't aged so well.

IF I was in my 20's, I would have liked to experienced Cuba & it's "Restoration Craftsmen", to be able to learn from them. Now that I'm retired, I don't want to go there, BUT I grew-up on a farm here in SW Ontario & till my father asked me to do his Income Taxes, so him & mum could start to get their Gov't Pensions, I never realized how much they sacrificed, so my sister & me would have what we wanted (within' reason). I've been thinking about something ever since I watched Powernation put a Cummins BT4 in a 2000 Jeep, using Advanced Adapters conversion kits, etc. They even had a Cummins Factory Rep. helping them with this conversion. My idea was to put Electric Hub Motors within' the Rear Wheels on this Jeep & this way, IF the Starting Battery was too low to start the Cummins BT4, you could just use the Electric Motors on the Rear Wheels to get enough speed to "Pop the Clutch" & start the Diesel. NO hill needed & this would be so handy for moving the Jeep around the yard. Also, I know that an Automatic Transmission could be "Push-Started IF the speed was fast-enough", so there would be no Danger there of running into a towing vehicle ever. I had a Triumph Spitfire in the 70'/80's, & I put the Biggest Capacity Battery that would fit in the Battery Box & it was powerful enough to Drive It into the shop on the Starter Alone, so this is where I got this idea from originally. YES, I realize that with Modern Electronics, the Juice from the Battery that drives the Rear Wheels could be used to Start the Diesel, BUT where's the Fun in that & Computers are notoriously unreliable IMO! I'm hoping that someone there in Cuba, who has Internet Access reads this & maybe they could "Gerry-Rig" something that would work, like this.

He didn't mention that Castro's guerrilla kidnapped Juan Manuel Fangio in 1958, when he had come for the Cuban GP, a sports-car race in the streets of Havana. Moss won in 1958 and again in 1960, already under Castro regime.

Castro came to power at the start of 1959 so I thought 59 was the last year for American cars exported to Cuba. I didn't know Che Guevara drove a '60 Chevy Impala I never seen a '60 Chevy in Cuba . When Che Guevaras Chevy caught fire it reminded me of a '60 Chevrolet Impala I had in 2014. It had the original 348 turboglide & the regulator went out & was on fire, the mechanic quickly put the fire out. I love old cars their so much fun & stressful at times.
