This channel is primarily for the live streams from the video cameras on my roof showing views of the Pacifica Pier, Beach and Mori Point in Pacifica, CA. I occasionally add clips from the video cameras and other videos or photos I find interesting.
I take a lot of photographs which can be viewed at chamberlinnature.com. I also host a weather station on my roof, providing local weather conditions near the Pacifica Pier. The website includes information on whale watching in Pacifica. That site is: pacificaview.net/

the screaming accompaniment wasn't necessary and completely destroyed the clip for me.
DESERVE MILLION LIKE !! so beautiful . thank you for sharing .
Hey Chamberlain Nature you put me on time out on your live stream because I made an emoticon face. I don't think that was necessary. I subscribed to your channel and was just having a little fun. You shouldn't be so harsh on your viewers. It's ok to allow people to have a little fun instead of being so serious. I hope you reconsider. Thanks.
That was one of the moderators not me. I’ve been away photographing wildlife the past week. I’ve cautioned the moderators to be pretty lenient and I’ve found they’ve been pretty good about that. I didn’t see your post but it’s possible the moderator misunderstood the intent. Not sure how long the timeout was. I’ll try and check and if it hadn’t been lifted already I will lift it.
👏👏👏
Well appreciated thank you 🇬🇧
Do you hate living there?
I've seen chamberlain's house just sitting right there whenever I go to sharph park
damn. that explains a lot of dirt at the parking in the stream
Yup
I love your live cams!
More proof that you crazy hippies can't even control the ocean.
the most impressive thing that he did was ride it with no seat. 😂
unfortunately its just a matter of time until those homes are in jeopardy of being destroyed. the oceans are rising.
They learned something new that day
I woke up ready to enjoy the waves. It was my birthday. Instead I sat horrified and watched a man get carried away into the street after falling. I hope everyone can recover. Something about the 27th and 28th of December and water... not the first time I've seen such on these days.
If you see Dungeness crabs wash up you better grab them
Vicious waves and sounds!!!!
I grew up on pacifica beaches and one of my earliest memories is of getting sucked up by a wave and being tossed around for a few seconds. It's a powerless and scary feeling, that definitely taught me a life-long lesson.
Where’s the drone for better coverage…
That is one long way from the Ocean to your front door step.....crazy large waves...
Whoever put those sandbags out is feeling pretty smart right now.
if you mean the ones in our driveway, that was me and my wife. We filled, moved and stacked roughly 300 sand bags. If you mean the industrial sized bags on the other side of the road, that was the city.
David, why are they not able to return the sand to the beach? Is it now contaminated?
Yes. The city used to put the sand back on the beach, but when the California Coastal Commission found out, they told the city that once sand leaves the beach it is considered "dirty" and can't be put back on. Never mind the fact that the storm drains all along the street and area here, get all of that same "dirt" and sand and flow directly onto the beach. And they do that 365 days a year, and not the once every few years that we get enough sand pushed over the wall that would need to be cleared. Bureaucracy run amok.
Good time to have a pod there or was that on purpose.
Actually, not a good time, as all of our bedroom furniture, bed, clothes and a variety of other things were in there. We’re still rebuilding the first floor of our house from the January storms, so most of our stuff is in storage, including in the POD out front. The POD ended up with standing water in it, which looks to have ruined a lot of our furniture. We’re trying to rescue the bed by setting it up in the garage with fans and dehumidifiers.
@@ChamberlinNature Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. They really aren't waterproof. I don't know why I assumed it was empty waiting to be filled. I feel so bad for you guys. I mean it.
David, does this happen every winter?
Yes and no. It’s not that uncommon to get waves coming over the wall during the winter storms, especially if a storm coincides with a King Tide. However what happened in January 2023, and to a slightly lesser extent what happened on Thursday, was different. Between my time living in this house and talking to the person who lived here before me (who bought the house in 1984), waves only made it to the house once since 1984, and that was before the sea wall was built (it was built in 1987). So January was the first time since the sea wall was built and Thursday was the second.
@@ChamberlinNature thanks David. Thanks for the background info and for providing a space for my morning meditation! Take care of yourself and your family and I’m hoping this new year will bless you richly.
Yep. We were watching in real time on the 28th. Your Pacifica cams are the first thing I check every morning. Thank you for those. 🙌
I never check
Awesome footage.... Happy new year 🎉
The Pacific Ocean called. It wants its water back.
It seems like even if a bigger wall was built, the sand would eventually just build up and the waves would use that like a ramp.
Thanks for showing this..
Thanks for showing this!
So sorry David! On a lighter note HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉🎉
Sorry about your stuff in the POD. Saw a thread on one of your live feeds about it! I watched the Mori Point cam all day at work. It was crazy!
Maybe it shoulda not been right on the beach then. Shit happens
😮
The sun of god walks on water at sunset.33 degrees
YES be cAREFUL ....
Niiice 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! I finally saw a whale …and so close!
Wow, I was online that day with this channel on. I completely missed it. Glad everyone is ok. It was quiet splashy today. Lots of over the wall moments.
Those kids aren’t ocean aware, they shouldn’t be playing on a steeply shelving beach with a shore break and strong swell, next to an outflow pipe
I wear a lifejacket when I fish on this beach. People probably think I'm nuts Lol
The water is so cold entering fall and winter, the initial dunk without a wet suit can cause shock and disorientation adding to the extreme harm of the rip.
i've been the ocean my whole, but the does what it wants, people think
Yes the most dangerous beach in the Bay. Very steep, the return wave can sweep you off your feet called UNDERTOW. This beach took my sister , myself and my little brother one after another in the late 70's we're lucky to be here today. Great channel to monitor weather and water conditions etc. F.Y.I. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY EVENT AS THIS THERE ARE EMERGENCY FLOATING DEVICE MOUNTED ON ( THE RAIL ) BOTH SIDES OF THE PIER.
thank god u guys made it out the ocean is scary
Sorry but they were stupid idiots for going in the water!!! There's no beach there right??? Like people would be smart enough to not go over the railing??
@ChamberlinNature - Thank you for sharing. The news should pick this up to show people that Pacifica can be a very dangerous beach. You can see why there are so many drownings.
I cant believe those people on the rail didnt even budge to help.
omg, these people are STUPID.. and they keep letting the little boy with the bucket go to the water.. and no one else is helping the ladies.. geez, i would call the police just to get them off the beach cause they are not responsible at all..
