Looks very cool, І can't wait for the game to be released. I also really hope for the addition of Ukrainian localization and Ukraine to the game. Thank you
Really love Gabriela's energy! Thanks for this
The woman sure manages to spend a lot of time not giving concrete answers when we clearly see from the gameplay footage that the answers are in fact very simple and basic. The governments are all basically the same thing with minor numerical differences - one extra city cap here, 5% more taxes there. Don't give me that PR bullshit where you talk extensively about how you "looked to history" and so on when it's just these minor number differences. This isn't like, say, Civ 3 where government types had drastically different gameplay features.
The government improvements sound really neat, and like they’ll add to a well-rounded approach to leading a civilization!
Please next Encarta Series Episode 2: Celts
Very explainatory and clever :3 thanks for this kind of videos guys.
You have a strange leadership system and this is a huge minus. Sappho, Joan of Arc, Cofucius, etc. None of these individuals have ever led their countries. They were not heads of state or rulers, they were not even politicians. In one of your previous videos, you boasted that you are “very attentive to history,” that you have a special person, a professional historian, who monitors authenticity. But in a key aspect of the game, the leaders of nations, you completely missed the point. Where are the truly great rulers, recognizable names, great kings and emperors? Who needs Sappho and Joan of Arc? Let's be honest. When France has Napoleon and Louis 14, and China has Qin Shi Huang. Children, teenagers, zoomers will play and think that Confucius once really ruled China.
Joan of arc has been in civ forever so please shut the fuck up
Meh, as long as the leaders are interesting I don’t mind that they never actually led their country. I don’t think it should be a requirement to actually have led a country to be playable. The Civilization games have done it a few times like with Ghandi. I will say that Sappho is a weird choice, but at least it’s confirmed that Alexander the Great is in the game. Joan of Arc isn’t really a bad choice considering she is known by a lot of people and did play a large role in protecting France. Also I doubt much children will be playing this game as it seems to be pretty complicated compared to whatever children play now lol.
It's a game. Stop crying
I don't care about leaders who did not directly lead their civilizations. Civ mostly used real leaders, but they were also a bit transcend. They were immortal, did not change, not even when they adopted another type of government. To also include some great personalities as civilization leaders is absolutely okay. I don't really understand why you seem so upset by that. All games need to abstract to some degree.
We need a DISCORD SERVER! I hope city cap is a soft cap rather than a hard cap. If it’s a hard cap, I know what my first mod I will make for this game will be.
Considering how much you can do in the cities compared to other 4x games, it might actually be a good thing that there is a city cap. Cities seem to require a lot more management which would probably make having 10 cities tedious.
From the video tooltips, it's a soft cap, you can go over but get unhappiness penalties.
@@WhipCreamMan well let me deal with the tediousness, and let me deal with the debuffs to my empire
@@ElhoimCrow amazing
This game is looking more and more interesting. Would pick it up now if there was early access.
Looking forward to the game! How does this not have that much visibility?
I enjoyed the alpha a lot. That said I found the government system rather limited, not many policy options to choose from and unclear how they impact gameplay tangibly. Policy cards as in Civ 6 would be interesting to consider.
Oh no, another Civ clone [facepalm]
Civ is finished enjoy your mobile graphics and microtransactions in Civ7 😂
@@niteip187 I'm not a Civ fan. And that's why I don't need another clone :)
its more like an Anno clone if it was turn based
@@dylanroemmele906 Nah, Anno is a city builder.
@@manofconstantsorrow no Anno is an economics game first which this game is.
September?! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I hope it's very moddable. Already want to make DLC for it.
Apparently it's very mod friendly
Thanks a lot. I'm looking forward September 24th ...
NEAT!
Not my first pick for a peader, but cool that you didn't just puck the most well known ones. I know some don't like obscure historical characters but as someone thwt loves history its nice to see the other parts of history as well.
Turks!
I haven't even played this game yet, but I love it. I like what I see in the video, only one thing is missing: please add Ukrainian language and characters. Ukraine and Kyiv Rus are not Russia. Ukraine has a long and rich history that deserves to be represented. Including the Ukrainian language will not only honor this rich heritage but also make the game more accessible and enjoyable for Ukrainian players. The Ukrainian community would greatly appreciate your consideration of this request. Thank you!
Absolutely! There are many modern countries like Brazil (which appeared in 19 century as a country) in civilization like games but no Ukraine. This is weird.
I thought you were going to release another encarta video today! Looking forward to knowing more about the game!
I assume that is not a human talking or did you have just weird technical issues? (typically when I conjecture like this, I am wrong... i don't want to insult someone as have an artificial voice.) Please, it is really not nice to listen to this video. Take care to improve this in upcoming videos of this series. It does not have to be a professional... just not weirding me out while listening. ;)
"amphitheatres and theatres" So you actually distinguish? Not like Civ6 where they don't even know what an amphitheatre IS? I am excited... :)
Poland next
Dudes, “you are so careful about history,” but your leaders are Sappho in Greece and Joan of Arc in France. What? Or maybe not abstract women from the sidelines who had nothing to do with the government at all, but real bright leaders, Louis 14, Napoleon, Pericles, where is all this? But you're pushing Sappho and Joan of Arc on people. This nuance with leaders is a little disappointing.
Woke stuff I assume.
"Not a lot is known about this woman's life, but we are woke and need to have 1/2 the leaders be women, so we jammed her in anyway. Forget having actually notable Greek men be leaders" SO tired of this. I wish more game companies had the balls to resist this woke nonsense. Incoming Michelle Obama being leader for the USA. Hmm, maybe Harrit Tubman? Megan Rapinoe? You think I'm joking... I really, really wish game companies could at least hire politically neutral people. I can barely play any new games anymore, "the agenda" is just constantly shoved in my face. I just want to play a game without knowing who the devs vote for. This wasn't an issue until like 2018 or so, and it just gets worse every year.
Dude I think Victoria Setian is beautiful and as such I will now look into this game having known absolutely nothing about it even existing previously.
Please show us some African nations and leaders!
i really hope this game comes out well
Shappo, a poet as a leader? Even if you want to force a women as a leader, you have better options as Arsinoe
I'd like to see an Encarta on Zulu, Maya, and Mesopotamian
Will be like evil leader or evil Regimes? So we can like make big coalition against evil regimes who want to destroy our cities or lifestyle or be the evil leader who want to destroy wold and make his supreme power? Because some time its not very funny to be the good guy or the have only good guy because you can't have real patriotic war like irl. And differents type of war like : Cold War, Proxy war, Holy war and Great War?

Would love to learn more about the Crow!
I wonder how gorgeous the game would look with a day night cycle
Well my first thougt was: a poet?!! Greeks had plenty of leaders, but this is minor. My real concern here is that what i heared sounds very much like CIV. Waiting to know more.
Won't Brazil be in the game?
Been re-watching all vids, need new ones!
Please remove “nation culling” it is a bad feature.
and please put Italy and not just Rome!!!
Italy is on the list and Rome!
seems like A LOT of stuff. Could be phenomenal or another shitty civ lookalike. Please guys don't screw it up, I'm so hyped!
ROMA VICTOR!!!!
People, people... There's Cesare Beccaria, Confucius, Joan of Arc, Copernicus, and yes, Sappho. Ara has chosen to have non-political figures in its roster of leaders, that's all.
Really looking forward to the game! BTW, for all the other people complaining about the leader choice, you can see at 0:25 that Alexander The Great is in the game (top left of the Encarta). As a personal tidbit: I've been reading the comments and I have to say that I like the fact that some ''Leaders'' are not the traditional type, but are still people who had a huge influence on the world stage in different domain, like Sappho was for ''Culture''. I understand that it is impossible to add everyone's favorite but having more than 30 leaders at launch is really impressive and appreciated for a 4X historical game. Mine would have been Napoleon, but knowing new real-life characters who existed that I have never heard before is great. So even if Napoleon is not in the base game (fingers cross for post-launch content) I really like the base roster.
I also noticed that he was in the game, Im glad someone pointed this out since a lot of people are already up in arms about something missing that is, in fact, NOT missing
If there is... WHY PUSHING ZAFO AS THE MAIN LEADER OF GREECE??? WE ARE NOT KIDS TO DONT REALIZE WHATS GOING ON HERE XD (we practically play strategy games! we can realize about many but many things and where these things lead to :3)
Greece has a "minor" trait... That's all I'm going to say.
Meh, kinda boring leader historically, but I guess it's alright
Game looks good!
Read a few of the comments: my daughter might enjoy playing as Sapho. Let her have this one guys :)
Im glad she likes this kind of games, but many of us are men and we feel a little discriminated my lady, please dont get mad with us, because we already have a culture of games made by men and for men... We just wanted to listen if there is other leaders in the pool for us, thats all :,( I LOVE THE IDEA OF HAVING A FEMALE LEADER IN THE GAME FOR GREECE, BUT WHY PUSHING IT SO HAD WITH A FULL VIDEO??? /regards)
@@GatochanBoliviaThere's no reason to feel discriminated against. For one there are plenty of male leaders in ARA and other historical games, there is no shortage of them. Second, historically men have dominated most spheres of life for centuries, particularly in positions of leadership because of antiquated beliefs in women's abilities. Just because ARA is influenced _by_ history does not mean it needs to repeat the patterns of history; to do so is simply to repeat the historical injustices that women (and other marginalized groups) have suffered in the past.
@@therexbellator XD i understand your point but... It history, already writen, if we dont respect our history we can accpet any shit someone says in modern times... I ASUME MYSELF AS CONSERVATIVE if you want, but thats the way i felt with this video (very forced to push a modern agenda), i can understand you dont agree and i respect it, sorry i dont feel ok with this, and im not against women, im just against about CHANGING history acording to the modern trends... regards :3
@@GatochanBolivia history isn't written in stone; it is written and re-written many times, especially as more data and analysis sheds light on it. People used to think the Pyramids were built by slaves, but that misconception is no longer supported by the facts or the idea that people used to think the world was flat. But all this is beside the point, because ARA isn't history, it's a 4x game that uses history as a backdrop; its only obligation is to be a fun/interesting game. The fact that its entire premise is based on counterfactuals like the possibility of any civilization building the Pyramids or the Hanging Gardens is pure historical fantasy. You need to look elsewhere if you want a game to confirm your historical prejudices.
@@therexbellator XD funny cooment, and... Yup im sriously considering about leaving this game maybe for later as it already lowered my expectations about what it could it be :3 enjoy writing and rewriting "HISTORY" as many times you want XD (acording to the current global agenda)
I really hope I can choose another leader for Greece. Sappho - what a poor choice.
Pederasts >>>>>>> Sappho
You can
Looking forward to Ara and its in-game Encarta!
Sappho as leader ??? Are you serious? So many great figures more important than Sappho!!!
Calm down. There is another Greek leader to pick in game.
Great Video, please show Vietnam! :)
Looking at the list they aren't on it...
