We are a barefoot family also in Ontario! I'm excited about the anti-inflammation benefits of going barefoot (or having any part of the body touch the earth -"grounding"). My daughter has a benign tumour in her foot and walking barefoot outside helps her with the pain immensely. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my knees and walking barefoot or simply touching the earth helps the pain. My 9 kids will often challenge each other in the long winter months as a break in our homeschool day to run around the backyard on the snow barefoot (as long as they can take the icy freezing sensation) before running back inside the house. It sure boosts their energy!

Just subscribed! Very cool channel. Your sound is pretty low - I have my sound cranked all the way up and you're still quiet. I am a homeschool mom of 9 in the Madawaska Valley region of Ontario! My go-to strategy is to stick my toddler in the bath (and keep my ear out for him & check on him every few minutes). I'm not too concerned about a bit if water on the floor. I throw a few towels on the floor and water clean-up on the floor is a cinch. Better that he's happy and I have to clean up a bit of water on the floor. God Bless!

Hello from Nova Scotia, new sub. Your neighbor (my best friend) put me on to your channel. He's the sorta 'dim witted dude' who I'm assuming has been chatting you up on the ATV tracks😂. Other than just saying hello, I wanted to point out a noise I was hearing from your mill when you started it up. Other than the sound of the engine running, I can hear what sounds like a sorta high pitched 'ting' of two pieces of metal hitting each other. Based on the videos I've watched ( I refer to that as research), what I think I'm hearing is the unintentional engagement of the centrifugal clutch. From what I understand, it is caused by the idle being a touch high on the motor, which can be turned down fairly easily I believe. There are several videos on the 'Tubes' that address this condition, and the resulting premature failure of the clutch if the idle isn't adjusted. Anyway, great video, and I'll keep an eye on the progress with the homestead!

I’d love some more forest homeschool ideas and vlogs! I take my older son to the forest about once a week, but my younger son elopes much more so he can’t go to trails or the woods, so I have been making a sort of natural playground in our back yard and planting plants and hope to start spending every day outside, Doing all of our homeschooling outside, Etc as soon as we finish!

Aside from the math chapter, would you say that the English/social studies/science chapters could suffice as “work” to go towards their curriculum requirements in the Complete Canadian Curriculum books? Obviously we would do more writing, reading and science experiments! Greetings from B.C.! First time home learning for all my kids this fall:) They are enrolled in a DL program.

hi, i wanted to ask if french language is a compulsory subject for kindergarten in Canada?
@samanthanorman89954 жыл бұрын
I am from Canada. It is not in most of Canada. Quebec is the only province where French is the official language, and New Brunswick is the only official bilingual province. French Immersion is offered in all provinces and territories, and English Immersion is offered in Quebec.

This deserves more views. Great video. I don't photocopy often because of the price of ink. I think it's cheaper to buy more workbooks than to copy them. I use a lot of nonconsumable things, which definatley saves a lot of money when you have several children. I keep our books we use for homeschooling on a certain shelf and I have a planning binder too.

@loewenwoodforesthomeschool20764 жыл бұрын
Right now it's the Grammar posters I purchased from Scholastic. They're an easy tool to teach the kids a part of French that , I've found, is learned through daily repetition. I also really enjoy the French CDs we listen to during play time indoors or in the car. Trips to town are 20 min each way so it's a great time to hear some more French! And I love hearing them sing the songs to themselves when they play.
