Can the blade fan be removed at this point for cleaning?

  • @charlieromeo7663

Not really, but you don’t need to do that. get a mini split cleaning kit from Amazon sized for your unit. It slips over the housing easily. You can remove the air vane as shown in this video. With a flashlight you should be able to aim it upward and see the blower wheel for inspection. If it’s dirty, get a can of AC coil spray cleaner at Lowes, etc. Spray it on the wheel, and let it soak for 15 minutes or so. You may need to manually rotate the blower wheel with a non-metallic tool to apply the spray to the entire wheel. After it soaks for a while, you can rinse off the blower wheel with a pump up bug/fertilizer spray bottle filled with water. Inspect for cleanliness and repeat if necessary. You will be amazed how much gook will come from the wheel. It’s worth noting, that if you lift the left end of the evaporator coil as shown in this video too far or too much, it’s possible to crack a soldered fitting on the pressurized refrigerant tubes. This will render the unit junk and require replacement of the coil, which is a very expensive service call. My guess is the unit shown in this video doesn’t get sufficient airflow because it’s too close to the ceiling and the efficiency isn’t optimal. There should be at least a foot of open space above the unit. Sometimes they have to be installed that way, but it should be avoided.

Last ditch effort taking it apart. Try to take a shopvac to the other end of the drain and suck out the blockage out of the drain tube

That is 100% not all the way plugged in. I can tell by the fact that the connection for the 6 by 2 arent lined up, plus the latch itself is still raised and its not pushed all the way in. I think you might wanna double check that.

Sorry to nitpick but the powerconnector that you called "pcie" is a SATA power connector. Pcie would refer to the 6+2 pin connector that plugs into a gpu.

Hi, thanks for this very useful video. It will help solve a power problem I have with my scanner, which worked well till it occurred, about 3 years ago.. I have a V30 scanner that hast been needing this repair. The insulation between the 2 poles in the jack degraded, and started to crumble, and the scanner stopped working. I do have one problem that needs to be solved before I start. The scanning unit/carriage part is positioned completely against the front of the scanner lower cover - guess that is the Home position. I would need to move it a little to get some working room, like in the machine that is shown in your video, but it doesn't get any power - which is the problem I need to fix, Any idea how could I get to do that? I see that your video has only been up for 3 weeks. When I looked, at the start of the problem, there was nothing on the subject. Thanks again You must have been aware of a safety recall on the power adapters for some Epson V scanners, it is not new, but I only saw it today. Just in case, Here it is: epson.com/Support/wa00900
