Hello there. My name is Tore, born and bred in Norway. I'm starting my third multiyear backpacking trip in a few weeks. This channel intends to show what my travel is all about; indigenous culture, wilderness, wildlife, trekking & hiking, food, history, archaeology, volunteering and also about the daily life of a long term backpacker. Basically trying to bring the colorful world onto the screen. I will take the viewer to ancient villages as well as vibrating metropolises. Showing ancient rituals as well as craft techniques. Mountains, oceans, desserts, forests. I want to experience and share it all. One day i might explore ancient ruins, the next i go to volunteer in a remote jungle reserve. Or it might be an shamanic ritual one day, and a cooking class the next. That is what it is about...exploring, experiencing and learning.....relentlessly.

Mongolia er et temmelig spesielt sted.
very good
Thank you. I was just randomly filing with my phone, the only recording device I have right now, and decided to make a video and post it. The first one in very long time.
Amazing video. So interesting 😊❤️👍
This experience was in a way parallel to the wine harvest stay in your guest house. But so different.
What time of the year was it ?
It was late August.
Very beautiful, thanks for sharing.
You welcome 😀
Coming to visit in the next days as I'm living next by but never got a chance to check this wonderful place!
It certainly is a nice place to hang out for a day. For a full time traveller, it gets almost like a relaxing timeout.
Hermoso mi país.
Disfruté mi tiempo en Nicaragua. Es Un hermoso pais.
HI , thanks for sharing nice vedio ... how much time required for this hike ? is it good place to go with kids ?
If the kids are big enough to comfortably walk on their own, it should be no problem. Expect a couple hours roundtrip.
cushitic people like the somali and afar tribes now in the the horn of africa though their cousins beja still live in south egypt today but the rest moved down the red sea and nile river
You are correct these are Beja, Afar etc.. Cushitic people. There were many different African groups that created this civilization. 7000 years ago The Green Sahara was lush and tropical with many different groups of Africans. After it dried many of these people went into the Nile blending their cultures creating one amazing culture. Pharoah Amenhotep III, Huni, Sahure, and others are not Cushitic having Yoruba DNA. Yoruba DNA is found even in modern Egyptians being ancient, along with sickle cell anemia which has it's origin in Benin. The Green Sahara explains the mix of different African types. Green Sahara is the answer. Too bad Africa can't get this energy of unification today coming together instead of fighting each other over silly things like colour and nose size. 🌍🌍🌍
@@lf1496 it was only cushitic groups/tribes plus the pharaohs stick is still used by northern somalis today
So they we're black africans.
Again, some Egyptians wew black. Many were not.
Allways a pleasure to watch your adventures. Keep it up 😊
Siste rest som publiseres nå.
I'm in video ☺️☺️
Now that is really fun, where are you in the video? 😀
I sing and dance 3:03 --- 3:08
Wow. That's really fun! 💥😀
I spent four straight days in a translation project in the Tomb of Ty. The tomb is easily one of the most diverse and interesting on the plateau from a hieroglyphics standpoint. The butchering scene you show? They even stop in one panel to sharpen their copper blades, then continue! I have spent easily 25-30 days straight in Saqqara. Most amazing place on the planet, as you well know! One thing that might be confusing for visitors is the way you've edited it... you go downstairs towards the sarcophagus, then come back upstairs to show the false door area, which might be confusing for visitors who haven't been there. One thing that's beautuful about this tomb (and indeed the tomb of Teti, on the other side) is how the glyphs show the dance of winning changing all the time between the hippos and crocs, sometimes the hippos win, sometimes the crocs win! At 11:58, the hieroglyphics show a man pointing overboard and saying, "Look out, friend! For there is sure to be a monster in the water!" haha. Overall great job!
Thanks for this feedback. Interesting comment that you made there 😊
Hi tore, we met you about 1 year ago in cairo and since then we are big fans of yours :) if it is about volcanos, you recomment nicaragua or guatemala? Thx
I really reccomend this. If weather is clear, one WILL ( currently) see eruptions. And in dark see the lava glows. In addition the great views and all those beautiful small details. It is tough climb, but a beautiful trip. Yes, highly recommended. We met in Cairo? I don't recognize username, where? Restaurant? I'm in Oaxaca, México right now. The massive colourfull Dia del muerte celebrations. Just finished tasting lot of mezcal and it feels exactly like that🤣🤣
As to recomend..... You have several very beautiful volcano hikes in Nicaragua. See my videos from around León and the two volcanoes on isla de Ometpe. There is no glowing lava there, but the landscapes...... Amazing. I only visited one Volcano in Guatemala so far. Also, I know there is a trek among many volcanoes that can be done in El Salvador. I don't remember names right now, but it's there.....

Amazing video ❤
Thank you, my Sakartvelo friend 🍺 The volcanoes in this country are beautiful experiences, but hard work!
What a gorgeous video, only you know how much time and effort you put into this editing but you can see the effort in each scene. I just love this video.
Thank you, this kind of feedback from you means a lot, you know what you are talking about, being a very good creator!
Nice to c u back on track 🙂👍
Not fully on track. This is content produced a while ago, and there will be storage content for a while, but now I got my computer to work again, and hopefully I will get a new card to the go pro in San jose after turtle volunteering that starts tomorrow, lasting two weeks.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing❤
You welcome 😀
I need to be out there traveling again like you are!
"out there", is the place to be!
Hermoso Nicaragua
Si. Mucho lugares moy agreeable en esta pais!
Der har jeg også vært.:)
Og hva synes du om stedet?
Vakkert
Fint sted, men landsbyene oppe I Alpujarras er mer spennende. Postet video derfra også. Trengte å tømme computeren for klipp, men ville ikke miste dem. Så det ble spontanproduksjon for you tube.
så bra ut det Tore
Fin opplevelse. Morsomt å komme nær skilpadder i sjøen.
Hi Tore sorry to disturb you again.. If you can remember.. Comparing goshavank to lake parz, and lake parz to dilijan, do you remember which one has better view, and which one is easier? Thanks!!
No worry, I am only glad to help out viewers of my videos. I never went to to Parz lake itself. But the most attractive meadows will be around the middle of Parz to Dilijan strech. Or around 2/3 of the Goshavank-Dilijan. Up to that area, it is forest walking. The views from some of the meadows of the stretch between Goshavank and Dilijan, which also will be on the Parz-Dilijan route, are among the best. There is one small stretch near Goshavank with some views. The best views will be from the highest part between Parz and Dilijan, on the Dilijan side. Before dipping down into the forest again. But I would say this trek is not so much about long distance views, as it is about the more imidiate things-like flowering meadows and the forest itself. But, some views there are.
@@globetrottingtore.640 this is very helpful. Thanks 🙏
You are welcome 😀
Do you remember how long did this one take also? Thx
A full day hike. I was on the trail for 8-9 hours. But manageable in 6-8 hours.
@@globetrottingtore.640 oh OK.. Thanks
Hi do you think i can do a small part of the entire trail just to see the meadow landscape as seen in your video. If yes, do you recommend start from dilijan and turn back, or start from goshavank and turn back? Thanks and hope you are having a good time in costa rica!
The meadows are considerably closer to Dilijan. It would require a long climb to get there. But probably you would still be able to save time compared to the full hike. Another option, if i remember correctly, that is a bit shorter than the full hike that i did, is walking Parz lakel to Dilijan. That route joins my route well before entering the most beautiful meadows. Double check with the hike Armenia app or website if you want to do that.
@@globetrottingtore.640 thank you so much! Think I will do lake parz to dilijan then.
Hihi i enjoyed your videos so much. I will be in Armenia next week. May I know how many hours did this trail take? It the trail well marked for a lone hiker?
Thanks for feedback 😀 No. The trail is not really well marked. There are markers here and there. But often hard to see and often not where you need it the most. My tip to you in that regard is the tip i nag on in every hike video i made from Armenia: the hike Armenia app. It is very precise, and details this trek in detail as a traildescription, plus the live map showing your position and the trek route you can use there ( reception was a bit unsteady for me, though). Its free. As to how long....a problem for me that one as i ALWAYS use a lot more time than normal people, since i spend so much time looking for motifs....then capturing it on video. But if you take taxi from town to the nearest point of the hike, say 2-3 hours normal walking. Add an hour pluss if you walk from town as well. A walking stick comes in usefull on this one. It is by an large an easy hike, but a couple of slippery waterfall climbs where extra support could save your day. Greetings from Costa Rica, where i travel now.
@@globetrottingtore.640 thank you so much for the advice! I only have five days in Armenia next week. Do you suggest Lori/Debed canyon or dilijan or another base for me? I am not so much into history/monasteries and prefer seeing nature (mountain landscape river lakes etc). Any ideas is much appreciated!
First of all, even if not interested in monasteries, it is often worth seeking them out because they tend to be located in beautiful places. As to nature, i really liked the dilijan area. Also the region around the tatev monastery and village could be a good place for such a short time. I do have one video from obe of several treks i did in that area as well. Security for south Armenia.must be checked before you go there in light of the turmoils with Azerbaijan over the last year. I have no clue of the current situation. Debed canyon is nice. I liked it. But i still had kind of a semi urban feel there.

@@globetrottingtore.640 thanks again for the advice. I was thinking of debed canyon as it is nearer to go after dilijan. May I know where did u base yourself in the tatev region? And what is your favorite trail there? I can probably only do one.

nice video the reliefs look like ancestors of Somali people and Afar tribe
Nobody deny black people was part of ancient Egypt. It was still only part of the ethnicity there. Egypt, at least historical Egypt was never a lack country, it was a country with a population partly made up of black people.
@@globetrottingtore.640 i never said they are black they are cushitic/hamitic people while coptic egyptian are fayum roman and hyksos descendants

great video. How did you get this place to yourself? Please leave the captions on longer I can't read that fast..... looking forward to viewing your other videos. New subscriber.
Tank you 😃. I got the place by myself by being there at the opening time. Doing the core area first, then when people started arriving, going in the surrounding parts, often overlooked by the groups. A few clips i had to wait for a while to get without other people. I will make longer standing captions in the future. I have uploaded one more Egypt video for next week, after that, there will be videos from Costa Rica, where I am now.

Thank you 😃
Thank you for filming Karnak I do hope to visit one day
You welcome 😃. Its an interesting place to stroll around, but it is HUGE! But be prepared for a lot of hassle in Luxor. The level of cheating and dishonesty there is daunting. As is it in many other places in Egypt. I think i will bring up the issue in a talking video later.
The colors of the inscriptions and drawings are still vivid despite the passage of thousands of years
They are. Thanks to super dry condition and storage in total darkness. Some of the tombs, forexample, looks like they were painted yesterday. Quite incredible. Ill post a couple of videos from them. The first on Friday.
Johnny Carson had Karnak the Magnificient on his show. He was about 3000 or more years old. He used to worship in the Karnak temples that were named for his ancient family.
I just cannot look at mummies. They freak me out. Other than that a wonderful place.
I can see why some people are unsettled by mummies. Personally, I find them fascinating. To stand face to face with real people having lived real life in another time and another world, is mighty fascinating. Also skelletons, often with visible traces of aspects of their life- and demise, is a real close up with history.
I can handle skeletons but not mummies. The look of horror on some of their faces is scary. Even the mummy played by Boris Karloff was scary to me. That is one of my favorite horror films even though it is 90 years old.
@@tedlawrence4189 some mummies have an unsettling expression, which is created by the effect of body tissue drying out. Most mummies I have seen does not have a scary looking expression. I find mummies very fascinating, but having no problem understanding how people get a bit repelled by it. After all, it is very evidently a dead body.( By the way, I am globetrotting Tore, continuing our conversation....using a different account right now for technical reasons)
I like the mosques. I love the feluccas. Did a week in 08, really relaxing time, great crew.
In my view, felucxas are a million times better than cruiseships Noe, thats an opinion based on my personal preferences. What is a fact is that the sail felucca is the most environmentally friendly way of doing it. The cruiseships are really dirty both in terms of emission, noise and also erosion due to their waves. As to the mosques, while i like the sort of exotic touch to it when they start, i find the ever lasting shouting with that extreme sound level to be too much. It becomes sound pollution.
There black ppl
Part of Egyptian population was black. Always were. But only part. North of Nubia, it was predominantly midle Eastern in ethnicity.
@@globetrottingtore.640 I guess ya can't believe everything ya read KZread but it's said that zuess was black to he the Greek God, I think there was alot of white washing as ppl and governments have been doing for years, I.m black fulla from Australia so anything to do with blackfullas and history I.m very interested
i know there has been a lot of white washing of history. But in the case of Egypt, the black people was only a part of it. North of Nubia, it was middle Easterns dominating the picture most of the time. Egypt is not, and have never been- black Africa. Only Africa with a proportion of black population.
The blacks are from Kerma 2500 BC and Pre-Kerma 3500 BC Nubians never called themselves Nubians, the Romans and Egyptians called them Nubians. Just like how the berber from north Africa never called themselves berber, the europeans called them berber, berber is short for 'Barbarian' as to which 'berber is racist word. 'Nubia' or 'nubia' is also a racist word, many argue that the Romans meant that Nubia means gold, if that were true then why did they call the people Nubians? Also the greeks called the blacks Ethiopian and the land Ethiopide. Kush is only one of the many many kingdoms of Kerma created by the blacks, Kerma has seen many black kingdoms since 3500 BC
Berbers call themselves berbers. Nubians call themselves nubians. Ive never heard any from either group call themselves anything else.
I Noticed you have new sculpture mommy’s with Black skin and European features I question your work It appears to be fake.
