Shop or DIY dry bilge system or a glass of REDBREAST 12 !
Captain will take the Redbreast! 😭🥃
I’d recommend buying a wet/dry vac from Harbor Freight. Runs AC or battery. I use it to clean standing water out of my bilge frequently.
Yep definitely a good idea! Footage in video of water in our bilge was a rare occurrence but definitely recommended if happens more.

Great video with excellent explanations. Always a good idea to use a marine caulk to seal any holes from the removal of the old floor mounted male snaps. Water intrusion into any fiberglass panel especially a balsa cored panel is a recipe for delamination.
Yes definitely good advice! That’s our plan when we remove old snaps in fiberglass
Great video! Thanks very much!
Glad you found it helpful!
Lived outside of Rock Hall for a few months and absolutely loved it. Had to come back home but i didn't want to leave. Such a beautiful and friendly small town. Waterman's Crab house is a must when visiting for sure and it is accessible by boat.
Rock Hall is on our itinerary every season! 🥰
I've lived in the DMV for 25 years, and was today years old when I learned about Rock Hall, haha
Haha! We didn’t know anything about Rock Hall until we were boaters - hidden gem! 💎
The ball went to the other side and is in the open position. Maybe it’s has to do with spring disconnected from foot pedal. What’s ur diagnosis? Thanks
Oh wow never saw that problem before but does sound like the connection between the foot pedal & ball and that spring is necessary to return the ball & pedal to the proper position. Unfortunately you’re gonna have to take apart to see - good luck!
I have been installing Marine Wifi repeaters for years on boats. This particular product is NOT the way to do it properly. The proper way to do it is to install a marine wifi antenna connected to a router. Some applications will require an external antenna for incoming signal and a repeater antenna for connecting to onboard devices. Also, you should mount the external antenna as high as possible, to prevent interference with the ground/water. (Note: the lower the frequency, the better the range and ability to go through obstacles)
we’re doing this DIY and it’s working well for us in our current setup - and likely would for other boaters like us, but sure, sounds like a bigger upgrade would be a pro install
@MyBoatLife I'm still talking about DIY stuff. Marine antennas are pretty simple to install. I just installed a couple wifi antennas on a 40' express cruiser and the entire install only took about 4 hours, including router setup and customer education.
@@charlieodom9107 that’s cool & probably necessary if something more basic doesn’t work for someone, but this cost us $100 and we set it up in a few minutes without an install. We’re happy with how it’s performing for us
@MyBoatLife it will work, until the moisture and water destroy it. That device is not weatherproof in the least, so it is not a good idea to recommend one for marine applications. You could have gotten an outdoor repeater for nearly the same price and been much better off, then add a better antenna later if you want. For example, Ubiquiti offers outdoor rated repeaters that have the option for adding external antennas, so you can just buy the unit and add a better antenna later if you want. They start around 90 bucks.
I sent you a PM on Instagram. 😊
Thanks for following us on Instagram btw 🤩
That's very interesting
it was super shocking when we realized we were still on the wi-fi out on the water!
It is fake!
all real man 😭
The true test will be Fairlee Creek. Any plans on going anytime soon?
I think in a crowded situation the direct line to the marina wi-fi would be blocked plus we’d have to use marina wi-fi. haven’t been there recently, we’ve been visiting more town destinations 😊
@@MyBoatLife Their password never changes (shhh)
@@CaptainTodd 😂😂
@@CaptainTodd it did change recently. (shhhh).
@tlteal I was just there over the weekend and didn't look at my paperwork, I just kept trying to use the old password. No wonder I was struggling
I have an extender and I need to try using it. The marina I dock in has a lot of signal but I have trouble getting a signal inside the cabin due to the large Carver next to me.
Yeah inside the cabin is the biggest issue - we’ve used other extenders but this one works amazingly well for us
EVA Foam = SeaDeck aka faux teak: HORRIBLE! Within 3 years it will deteriorate in sun and saltwater exposure and make a mess!
yeah we’ve heard a lot of people have had that issue with that brand & knockoff brands 😩
Don’t cheap out of the duck valves, the Amazon ones last about 3-4 months before they harden
The ones we buy on Amazon are Dometic brand & last a long time 👍
You never said what you were putting in the tank to clean it
it’s in the vid - spring fresh - you can also watch the full long form video too 👍
soon they will put 6 on back and one on the port and starboard side sides. maybe one up on the bow too
😂😂they’ll always push the limits!!
Can you tell me which model your wet bar refrigerator is? I have the same boat and I can't find a front vent small refrigerator like the one you have.
Ok you owe us one lol.. just went out and laid down on the cockpit floor & stuck my head inside to check 😂 it’s Norcold DE 0051 - hope that helps!
High pressure, low pressure
👍
love the video but can u run a boats ac while its out of wate??
Thanks! No unfortunately A/c systems draw water to run so you must be in the water.
@@MyBoatLife thanks for the information
Also the y valve for overboard or holding tank discharge. One of my hoses going into that valve was leaking at the valve.
Yep good to check that too! 👍
I had a lot of trouble with my sailboat water tanks when I first bought it. There was an access port in the top of the tank and once I took that round lid off and looked into the tank I was shocked. There was scum on all sides of the fiberglass tank, and actual jellies of some sort growing in there. It took years of using only reverse osmosis water to get it totally clean. I used a bit of bleach every time I filled it and a Brita to get rid of any orders. I never in ten years drank water straight out of the tank. I was hoping this video would give a bit more for older boats but I will just have to deal with whatever I get in my new boat.
Wow that sounds awful. Yeah you really have to clean it every season & use it often - sitting water is bad. That said, we never drink our tank water anyway.
Beautiful carpet! I have a question and would really appreciate your opinion. I’m looking at a 1998 400 Sundancer but I am worried about this boat having a cored hull. My current 370 Sundancer is solid fiberglass. I’m am looking to upgrade and am trying to figure out the hull construction. If you have any information on this I would be grateful!
Thank you! We’re really happy with it. So not sure but there’s a good discussion on Club Sea Ray that might give you more insight - hope this helps & good luck with everything!! clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/cored-below-the-waterline.6864/
Also it goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway lol) you should hire an accredited Marine surveyor who will sound the hull to detect soft spots
I am getting new canvas this summer....as soon as they get to me!
Awesome new canvas is amazing!! 😊
Hope and pray no one is hurt.
Yep no one got hurt.. doesn’t seem like owner was there - entire floor blew up & we think there was gas in the bilge that ignited
I guess I better go check my boat given how close it seems to have been.
You’re fine! The boat next to it got some debris on it but they cleaned it off. We had a lot of soot because wind was blowing toward us on red dock.. so you might need to clean your boat a bit. Sorry I meant to tell you about it we just got back from a week long trip.. stayed thurs&fri at HH & looked for you!
Thank you for making these videos! Greatly appreciated!
Oh thank YOU for watching!! 🥰
Now your tank is empty
We use a freshwater hookup at the dock so we could shower all day 😊
Oh man, so I just downloaded this app to replace my current navigation app, and at first it looked GREAT but after looking at my waterway for 2 min and unfortunately I cannot use this. I have a color blind issue , im about 50% colorblind and green and red look almost identical to me. when zooming in to the buoys they look exactly the same. the colors must be so close that they look indistinguishable to me. my Previous app not only made the color difference way more drastic but they gave the reds the pointy tops and greens the flat tops to really let you see their differences. for me ARGO would be impossible to use but i mean even to the average user thats making quick glances to their phone sometimes in super bright sun, they should have made the differences in the buoys much more drastic. bummer
Missing? Come south! The Tides Inn on Carter's Creek off of the Rappahannock in mid-Cjesapeake is not to be missed! It is another "resort" on the Chesapeake, and more manageable size for boaters arriving by water. Enjoy!
Sounds awesome thanks!
seems to be mechanically challenged
Well the steering wheel was challenging but otherwise we’re good with all our mechanical work 😊
Looking at a 2000 sundancer with 2 cats for the next boat !! we currently have 280 Sundancer with the 4.3. Two months in. And ready for something bigger 🤦🏻♂️😂😂
We love our CATS and the 410 is a great boat for space & performance. Good luck on your search!!
I never thought to leave the AC on. I would assume that helps with dehumidification as well.
Yes definitely!!
So cool !! This is our first year boating and we have kids. Love this !!
Thank you! Both our kids grew up on the boat 🥰
Ok, so what do you make of this... push the pedal to the floor to flush and the ball valve (flap, valve, not sure what you call that round ball flap) does not move... so no flush? Thoughts?
Hmmm sounds like the linkage with pedal is broke - maybe take it apart & see which piece is broken to replace.
Cape Charles,Onancock and Solomons Island are also nice trips.
Thanks we hope to get some trips in further south!
I have the same flooring in my boat.
It’s good stuff!! 👏👏
Nice job it looks great!
Thank you - we’re really happy with it!!
Next time you do snaps take a crayon or white grease pencil and mark the snap stud on the boat then when you press the capet or canvas you will have a white circle easy to see. I am a canvas guy
Ahhh good tip thanks! 👍
Just curious, we are looking at a express cruiser similar to yours. It would be a bay boat but possibly a loop boat. Do you think the two of you would be comfortable doing the loop on your Sea Ray.
Honestly for an extended time like the loop I might prefer a different style boat like aft or fly that has more living space. For one, I wish we had a separate dinette and couch. Positives are stall shower & full size fridge - definitely makes it easier for longer stays. We can spend a week on it without any issues (+ 2 kids) and from a performance standpoint Sea Rays are great boats. Good luck with your search!
We're on Middle River, held off replacing our Sundancer carpet to figure out what we like. Do u find your new floor gets hot?
There are some hot spots when sun shines directly on it - but honestly that also happened with our carpet. We typically have most of our cockpit shaded by our full canvas. Benefits seem to outweigh that… WAY better than issues we had with our carpet!
@@MyBoatLife Thanks for the reply, good to know! I really enjoy the channel! We're down every weekend (kids are grown), I like watching people go to different places on the bay. Great vids!
@@MetalDiggr thank you so much - we really appreciate it!! got a few food trips this season so hope to put up a few cruising videos soon. Enjoy your summer!! 😊
Looks great!! If i ever get the drive to remove my Seadek I will surely go this route. I dont like how the debris shows on Seadek.
Thank you!! Yeah we’re pretty happy with it. There’s definitely a few trade offs with each kind.
Loud grunting helps tool. Bahahaha
Got that right!!! Works well with most boat projects Grrrr!! 😭
@@MyBoatLife Maybe a few choice words when not on camera as well!!

My sister why this app not available here in Africa
It’s just North America & Caribbean at the moment but I know they’re looking to expand internationally
All great suggestions. You all should try Lowes Wharf. Not really a marina or even a town; more a large bar and restaurant, but has mooring balls, water taxi and you can also anchor. Its a nice protected cove and is a really good time with good food, normally a band, volleyball court and you can swim in and around the area.
Sounds very cool!
I got hydrodeck installed on my Sundance 460 and LOVE IT! Easy on the feet, stays cool…… and easy to clean
That’s cool! We wanted a bit less of a commitment, but still got nice upgrade
