Nicest Marina We Did NOT Like - Boat Trip to Marina Destination as Transient Boaters

Ever go on a boat trip to a nice marina that you really wanted to like but it just wasn't for you? A few seasons ago we had a boat trip to two marina locations on the Chesapeake Bay that we've been wanting to visit for a long time... Herrington Harbour South and Herrington Harbor North. We loved South, but our trip to North not so much. After comparing our stay at both marinas, we realized on this trip that a marina may be VERY nice but there's a big difference between a marina destination for transients vs a home port marina. If you are a Chesapeake Bay boater, what do you think of these 2 marinas & what's your favorite one?

Our home marina is HHS - we chose it for the beach and all the activities. Second year here and we haven't checked out HHN yet. South is just so nice we don't have a reason to leave lol. We love having the restaurant and the store across the street. Having the kayaks/sailboats/paddle-boards is also super nice. Not to mention they have fireworks almost every Sunday night.

Thanks! Yeah definitely more of a getaway at South for us - enjoy! We may not make it back to HH this season, but making rounds to Rock Hall, Annapolis & St Michael’s for sure!
