Margie and Tim

Margie and Tim

Hi! We're a family of 4 travelling Australia in our caravan. We left in November, 2023 with the idea to get as far as possible around Australia. This KZread channel was started to document our journey for friends and family back home in Adelaide, and for the kids and us to look back on in years to come.

It's such a whirlwind travelling with young kids, it's nice to sit and edit videos and reminisce the day's events in the evening. I hope you enjoy our videos (and I hope my editing is getting better!! :P )

Who we are: Margie, a SAHM and writer for outdoor adventure and motorbike companies (pre kids - an airline pilot)
Tim, working at Yamaha World, Adelaide
Alex, 5yo who loves the beach
Jasmine, 3yo mermaid loving princess

We're a neurodivergent family with ASD, ADHD, PDA kids.

Follow along to see our travels and don't forget to say hi :)

Caravan: Maverick Viper 13
Car: Mitsubishi Triton

What an awesome spot to camp! Yes, I remember it well of how excited we'd be when there was no-one near our campsite so that the kids could be noisy & we wouldn't be stressed about it! YAY!! Sometimes the plans that go awry are not as good as the spontaneous ones that happen afterwards! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

My parents loved seeing the dugongs & dolphins at Monkey Mia! Great camping spot on the beach at the start! About half of your temp here in Adelaide during the day... I'm in layers tonight! I was up at Steep Point last week after the rain storm had come through so luckily, no flies! We saw a dugong close to the shore at the start of the beach section just prior to Shelter Bay. The flies up at Francois Peron were biblical so we camped in town where they weren't so bad. Love that area but I don't go into the Monkey Mia resort. For me, it's a bit of a tourist trap and I don't hold with the anthropomorphization (or feeding) of the dolphins or any wild animals really. I'm enjoying your channel.

Thank you very much :) I was really surprised with money Mia. Too touristy for me, but the kids loved the dolphins. We also stayed at Denham but enjoyed in short proportions the national park.. the flies were crazy! They're calming down a bit now which is nice. Looking forward to nicer weather (and less flies!) as we head north:)

Fun times in the sand! I can see why you guys were bogged. I'm not really in favour of advising people but this stood out like the proverbial DB's. 15 psi on soft sand from the get go. But because your rims are so big , the tyres are a low profile, which makes it dodgy lowering the tyres to 15 psi. Running the risk of the tyres coming off the rims. ( smaller rims and higher profile tyres would be much better. ICHECK tyre deflators would also make your life easier. Cheers.

A lot of older or cheaper pumps connected to rainwater tanks have one of those. They’re easy to spot as they look like a large cylinder or bulb sitting above the tank. For anyone that is wondering, the accumulator has a rubber bladder inside it that expands when water is pushed into it. This then compresses the air in the accumulator which is all around the bladder and this compressed air is what pushes the water out when you open a tap. Imagine a football with the rubber bladder inside it being flat, then you fill that bladder with water. If the outside of the football was a hard plastic shell the air would be compressed as the bladder filled with water. The valve on the end of the accumulator is a pre charge valve so the outer shell always has about 30 psi pressing on the bladder. This makes sure the bladder can push all the water out. I hope this helps. Cheers.
