    really great video :) i just have a question. i find with emotions, something always seems to be coming up. i have big feelings a lot - anxiousness, moments of despair. these strategies are great, but doesn't there come a point where there are just too many feelings floating around that need to be regulated? maybe getting into a flow state will help? i guess this is me having a skewed relationship with my emotions. i will approach it more with curiosity!

    Makes me think of Gretchen Rubin's four tendebcies. And I guess upholders might do well with structures and more "rigid" habits.

    wow: marble mentality! love this & it's new to me--ty for teaching me something new i can see applying this to areas other than workout and cleaning routines (non-negotiable habits), such a writing or meditating ty🤍

    Thank you Muchelle! It's so refreshing to hear it acknowledged that habits and routines don't necessarily work for everyone. So much of productivity and self-improvement content has focused on habits for years now (probably since Atomic Habits was released), that the feeling of failure is inevitable for those of us who can't get many habits to stick despite trying over and over. I'm now listening to your interview with Michelle Segar and really enjoying it 😊

    I honestly love the longer in depth format, that I feel wasnt espacially long to begin with tbh, and feel the mini moves segment is one of the best components, so I really hope both come back 😊 But I definitely wasnt a fan of the guests and prefer ur solo episodes. Either way, huge fan 😊💛

    Hey!! i actually included a mini move in this ep - just not a separate segment! I hope to continue doing so. The longer, in-depth episodes are probably not sustainable for me for now, but I so appreciate that you loved them 💛 definitely sticking with mostly solo eps for now!

    I lovelovelove shorter, more frequent content! I generally click away from anything super long (more than about 20 minutes), even if it intrigues me, because I just don't have the time or patience for it, especially on a regular basis. Once in a while, for a special topic, okay. Every week? Nope. But regardless of length, the most important part is the value of that content, and I always get great value from your videos/podcasts, no matter how long or short they are, and I appreciate that SO much! <3

    New subscriber! I loved this episode because 1. the content was clear and actionable 2. The title was descriptive, not clickbate 3. Your presentation was clear and relatable. It seemed that you know what you are talking about, but are "one of us". I'm hopping over to your channel home to see what I've missed!

    I think the reason these are so popular is that they don't demand anything of you. It's easy to assume you're the only genuine person with reasonable needs and everyone around you is just trying to encroach on your emotional and mental resources. That way you don't bear any responsibility for anything. Your versions are obviously more thoughtful and accurate but they require people to actually empathise with others, and that's hard. But, great video!

    I love this! The comparison to experiments was really helpful to me as a researcher. It sounds like the Strategy is the theory (based on past observations, the past evidence of what works and what doesn't, etc.) all your strategic choices as testing a hypothesis based on that theory. So, just like how you test a hypothesis based on your theory, you test your strategic choices based on your strategy.

    Plans never worked for me. Strategy thinking seems very natural and it doesn't look risky at all for me! I'll apply it 😁

  • @caterinaleone9692

    I really love this. As a visual artist, it feels especially pertinent, yet genuinely not something I've heard of before. Society/productivity culture seems to focus so much more on plans, but I've always felt that I get the most done when I focus on strategy e.g. show up in the studio a certain number of hours vs. make a set number of artworks.

    I was a little hesitant to watch this video because I was kind of expecting a bashing on introspection. I’ve heard a lot of people basically just say “stop thinking about yourself it’s stupid. Worrying gets you nothing, stop being so selfish, you’re not that important, stop making everything about you,” the shame route, but they never really say anything helpful. I definitely believe there is value in thinking about yourself in terms of self-reflection, self-discovery and bringing awareness towards your interests, values and behaviors, but it can definitely easily become self-rumination. The video helped me to see where that line is more clearly. Also very grateful for the validation and explanation on why our brains might be stuck in that unhelpful loop. It was a little bit healing for me I think. I felt relieved. When people play the shame game it seems to make the self-rumination worse (at least for me) Thank you for your thoughtful compassionate video😊❤

    I love how this form of therapy sounds like it really helps you basically stopping focusing on just you, you, you (self). I see that with myself and others that you you just focus on yourself, everything feels worse, looks worse and we perceive everything as worse than it really is. It is so crazy when you start to notice it. I hope this therapy grows and really helps more. I will definitely be checking out your recce!

    6 months is too little. You have to atleast commit yourself for 2 to 3 years. Speaking from personal experience

  • @growwithintention
    @growwithintention2 ай бұрын

    I get that! I also think the mode of therapy and the relationship you build with the therapist has a huge impact on this. Going to a bad therapist or a therapist that uses an approach that doesn't work for your brain for 2 to 3 years might make things worse and cost a whoole lot more than necessary :)
