My friend just bought the d2 evo for $360 new in box on eBay the revised version. Guess we will see how it is
It's a good enough buggy. Just make sure to stock extra parts
As an old person getting back into the hobby, and as a motorsport fan in general, I like that there are so many RC competitions from local and regional to nationals. I'm also surprised that some classes aren't more popular, such as the SCT. When I was a youth in the 80s, pre-runner trucks and baja trucks were all the rage. So much so that most every truck manufacturer had their own version, and they were essentially SCT trucks. I mean, whether it's an Arrma Senton or a Traxxas Slash, or Losi, or Associated... they're ALL based on the legendary Toyota Hilux SR5 race truck of the 80s and 90s. Heck, even Back to the Future's Marty McFly had one. I don't know why they're not more popular. They are a blast to drive. And all these things called buggy's are not. If it doesn't have a Beetle body or tube chassis, fat rear tires and pizza cutter front tires with a big stinger exhaust pipe sticking out of the back, it's not a buggy. For example, the Injora Tarantula is a bonafide buggy.
Check out hong nor(jammin) for adjusable caster in the block. It has multiple adjustment points for caster in the block. Has a rearward mounted motor with a really short rear drive shaft and a really long front drive shaft. Its a darkhorse buggy for sure.
Are you going to be at wicked weekend?
Solid maybe on that one
Just ordered mine after running mp10e readyset to its limits🏁💚
MP10e TKI2 is the first experience I have with 1/8th scale buggy. Followed set up guides for a high traction track from petit RC and it so fun to drive. I think its likely due to the how easy it is to drive. I do agree that buggy seems to rotate slower around tighter turns. I might try moving the battery forward and see if that will help.
I remember when i first started racing 25 years ago the tracks had 2 options for off road. Losi and AE. That was about it in my area. Coming back into the hobby i was really overwhelmed with the choices! But for me i went with what i was comfortable with. Just wish there were closer tracks. Hopefully soon i can get out to Loganville.
Great Video Roach !
Seems like a paid review
Lol
are these AU prices or something?
Nah. US
@@RoachRC ahh
I have taken some pretty hard crashes and have yet to break an a arm. I’ve heard those same grumbling, but my buddy and I slightly above novice level have never broke one. The weak points were the steering blocks and after upgrading to aluminum parts that’s been a non issue.
La kyosho è il peggiore kit che c'è sul mercato materiali compositi scadenti è tecnologico VECHIA.....la sparko f8e top
Que?
Le kyosho fanno schifo 🤑
La WIRC è molto meglio.
It’d be great if they would come out with a new 2wd and 4WD 1/10
Without Kyosho and Yuichi Kanai 1:8 Buggies would not be how they are today. So much of the designs that are still widely used on Buggies today are Kyosho Inferno original designs.
La verità è che la kyosho è il peggiore KIT sul mercato materiali scadenti...ECC.....molto meglio LA SPARKO F8E / WIRC SBXE3
Nice video. I remember my friend back in 92 with his Inferno 10 nitro.
Hi Roach, I have wanted to get into 1/8 buggy’s. I very curious about how get sponsored the advantages and disadvantages. So please make a sponsor video.
I agree . would be very informative. keep up the good work bud!
I raced with Ryan Lutz a few weeks ago and he made that car look really good🤙🏻
Gave up on agama already? And where's the TLR love 😊
Lol Kinda had to as the Agama wasn't entirely mine. This car is. As for TLR, I might get around to it eventually.
@@RoachRC thought the Agama where yours. isent TLR on the way to be in the video of dead brands? lets go on the video of sponsors.
Middle TN Area here. I see plenty of Basic Losi DB Pro, and Typhon TLR on the track. Like I tell anyone NEW to the hobby. Money will buy you so much, but, in the end SKILL is more vital. Plenty of expensive RC on the track, with no skill, and even more average cars, with SKILL on the track.
Enjoy your new buggy! Last weekend I helped a guy who has the MP10 RTR it handled our track very well and a local Kyosho Team driver hooked him up with a kit front shock tower because his was bent.
What a nostalgic brand with a champion pedigree! MP7.5 was my first K-car!
You didn't mention that short course is cheaper than buggy classes to run. The chassis are a good bit more affordable. They are also easier to drive for beginners. You can bump and bang short course, but if the wheels on buggies touch, someone is having a bad time.
I couldn't break my serpent if i tried
2:42 wow your the first person who i have ever heard say that. everyone at my track, even shumacher guys, said the kit setup for the 6.4 was super good. so i bought one and damn they were right. also, you didnt mention durability which is bar none.
Your videos should have more views! Great Content
Yeah Buddy, i start with the 3 year old videos and work my way up to your newer videos! Buggy Racing lets goooooooooooooo
I bought a Traxxas Bandit VXL (got it cheap). Sold the Tyres and Eletronics and build my 2wd RearMotor Buggy with it. Its just fun, i dont recommend, but its a beginning in buggy racing for me. And it seems to work a bit. Next will be a Team Associated B7D oder B74.2D...but i take my time. ( I like your videos, they are on my to do list! To become more knowledge and make better decisions/drive better/set up better. Thank you Sir. )
9:36 what a jerk. cause both of you two crash then just take off when they get lucky and land on all 4s. they already lost the position to the person behind them so the least they could do is wait.
at my track if its your first time or its the first race of a series you get put in to the first qualifier (heat) randomly. if you have raced in the series previously its based on your last finish. second qualifier (heat) you get put based on how you placed in round 1. and the same with the mains. top 1 or 2 in the mains bumps in to the next class. theres no choosing which class you want to race in.
SCT not dead in uk
TLR still lacking. Associated took over
Unusual Suspension system. Still highly effective, quirks and all. Vibes of the 1980s to early 90s. Imma get one.
Dude makes great videos. High quality video, excellent information and very well spoken. Nice job man
Very good video....my comment is not related to this video specifically. Every rc race I watch...unless they are professionals getting paid to race....everyone is crashing...hitting the jumps inconsistently...just overall sloppy looking driving....it makes you really question and wonder if any of the hop ups or upgrades that people use are worth it at all....I literally see no difference in driving or speed between any of the cars...the club race driving is so poor it seems as if a car out of the box or a heavily modified car really makes little to no difference if the driving skill can't justify the difference in parts....I havent seen any videos on youtube of club racing where there isn't a crash first turn...inconsistent drive lines all over the place...and tumbles every other jump....maybe it's just me...but it seem like upgrades are just for the placebo effect or cool factor at certain driving skills...does anyone else feel this way or am I just ignorant to the hobby..
bring back monster trucks!! theres no big wheel 4wd racing any more
I miss short course racing.
What if you crash up side down? will the fron shock take the hit instead of the tower?
Kinda. The wing will pretty much always take the brunt of it, but the front shock cap will sometimes get scuffed up
hi, I'm wondering about tires, can I use different softness on the front and rear tires, as I have a pair of soft and supersoft?
You can. I know people used to do that on the SC10 4X4 at NorCal Hobbies to calm down the front. Though sometimes it's better to run the same all the way around for even wearing
can I use different softness on the front and rear tires
B5M for life ✊
Bring it out to RC3 man. I just ordered a S1 RM. We can have a shootout. I mean you'd win either way but it'd be fun.
So much easier to race 1/8. The tracks are so big and wide!
My local track holds on road track from 10th scale to mini z
Nice overview of the 2wd buggys 🙂
Very interesting, I'm looking to get back into rc, 12 years ago i had the agama a8 nitro but they had more usa distribution/presence then than now... The n1e looks very sweet, i might wait for the 10 th scale to release or go with xray '24 design of yokomo...... Ugh so many great choices in the market.
I would like to start racing and I need a bit of advice / help. I have found a guy selling his Mugen MBX7Te and Associated RC8b3.1e both for 400€. Cars come with castle motors, hobbywing XR8 escs, savox servos and a spektrum transmitter. Both cars look a bit dirty, but otherwise apparently in good condition. I am planning to keep the mugen chassis to use the electronics of my old MT4 G3 and clean and sell the rest of the kit. Or do the opposite if my local club happens to only race buggies. Do you know if there are still enough spares of these cars around? I understand this models already have a few years, but they were top of the line and I even think I could make some money if I cleaned them a bit and listed them correctly (I had to guess the models from the pictures).
Hmm. They are a good price but finding parts for them might be a challenge. If you clean them up you could sell them for more but not much more. My advice would be to save up for a more recent used kit that will allow you to find parts easier
Great going through 👍 its not easy to buy the first 1/8 buggy. This made me a little wiser 🙏
I'm done racing !!!!!! Just to damn expensive !!!!!!!
Aww
The upside down or the upside down with more guns 😂 I am 99% sure I know which states you just referenced
