    As an old person getting back into the hobby, and as a motorsport fan in general, I like that there are so many RC competitions from local and regional to nationals. I'm also surprised that some classes aren't more popular, such as the SCT. When I was a youth in the 80s, pre-runner trucks and baja trucks were all the rage. So much so that most every truck manufacturer had their own version, and they were essentially SCT trucks. I mean, whether it's an Arrma Senton or a Traxxas Slash, or Losi, or Associated... they're ALL based on the legendary Toyota Hilux SR5 race truck of the 80s and 90s. Heck, even Back to the Future's Marty McFly had one. I don't know why they're not more popular. They are a blast to drive. And all these things called buggy's are not. If it doesn't have a Beetle body or tube chassis, fat rear tires and pizza cutter front tires with a big stinger exhaust pipe sticking out of the back, it's not a buggy. For example, the Injora Tarantula is a bonafide buggy.

    Check out hong nor(jammin) for adjusable caster in the block. It has multiple adjustment points for caster in the block. Has a rearward mounted motor with a really short rear drive shaft and a really long front drive shaft. Its a darkhorse buggy for sure.

    MP10e TKI2 is the first experience I have with 1/8th scale buggy. Followed set up guides for a high traction track from petit RC and it so fun to drive. I think its likely due to the how easy it is to drive. I do agree that buggy seems to rotate slower around tighter turns. I might try moving the battery forward and see if that will help.

    I remember when i first started racing 25 years ago the tracks had 2 options for off road. Losi and AE. That was about it in my area. Coming back into the hobby i was really overwhelmed with the choices! But for me i went with what i was comfortable with. Just wish there were closer tracks. Hopefully soon i can get out to Loganville.

    I have taken some pretty hard crashes and have yet to break an a arm. I’ve heard those same grumbling, but my buddy and I slightly above novice level have never broke one. The weak points were the steering blocks and after upgrading to aluminum parts that’s been a non issue.

    Middle TN Area here. I see plenty of Basic Losi DB Pro, and Typhon TLR on the track. Like I tell anyone NEW to the hobby. Money will buy you so much, but, in the end SKILL is more vital. Plenty of expensive RC on the track, with no skill, and even more average cars, with SKILL on the track.

    You didn't mention that short course is cheaper than buggy classes to run. The chassis are a good bit more affordable. They are also easier to drive for beginners. You can bump and bang short course, but if the wheels on buggies touch, someone is having a bad time.

And it seems to work a bit. Next will be a Team Associated B7D oder B74.2D...but i take my time. ( I like your videos, they are on my to do list! To become more knowledge and make better decisions/drive better/set up better. Thank you Sir. )

    9:36 what a jerk. cause both of you two crash then just take off when they get lucky and land on all 4s. they already lost the position to the person behind them so the least they could do is wait.

    at my track if its your first time or its the first race of a series you get put in to the first qualifier (heat) randomly. if you have raced in the series previously its based on your last finish. second qualifier (heat) you get put based on how you placed in round 1. and the same with the mains. top 1 or 2 in the mains bumps in to the next class. theres no choosing which class you want to race in.

    Very good video....my comment is not related to this video specifically. Every rc race I watch...unless they are professionals getting paid to race....everyone is crashing...hitting the jumps inconsistently...just overall sloppy looking driving....it makes you really question and wonder if any of the hop ups or upgrades that people use are worth it at all....I literally see no difference in driving or speed between any of the cars...the club race driving is so poor it seems as if a car out of the box or a heavily modified car really makes little to no difference if the driving skill can't justify the difference in parts....I havent seen any videos on youtube of club racing where there isn't a crash first turn...inconsistent drive lines all over the place...and tumbles every other jump....maybe it's just me...but it seem like upgrades are just for the placebo effect or cool factor at certain driving skills...does anyone else feel this way or am I just ignorant to the hobby..

  • @RoachRC

    You can. I know people used to do that on the SC10 4X4 at NorCal Hobbies to calm down the front. Though sometimes it's better to run the same all the way around for even wearing

    I would like to start racing and I need a bit of advice / help. I have found a guy selling his Mugen MBX7Te and Associated RC8b3.1e both for 400€. Cars come with castle motors, hobbywing XR8 escs, savox servos and a spektrum transmitter. Both cars look a bit dirty, but otherwise apparently in good condition. I am planning to keep the mugen chassis to use the electronics of my old MT4 G3 and clean and sell the rest of the kit. Or do the opposite if my local club happens to only race buggies. Do you know if there are still enough spares of these cars around? I understand this models already have a few years, but they were top of the line and I even think I could make some money if I cleaned them a bit and listed them correctly (I had to guess the models from the pictures).

  • @RoachRC
    @RoachRC22 күн бұрын

    Hmm. They are a good price but finding parts for them might be a challenge. If you clean them up you could sell them for more but not much more. My advice would be to save up for a more recent used kit that will allow you to find parts easier
