Located in Huntersville, NC, Cube Computer Company was started during May 2006 in Hopewell High School room 529. Cube Computer Company was based off a small high school project computer, called the "Cube Computer I", later known as the Plexi. The term "Cube Computer" was a term coined by former Computer Engineering teacher Micheal Healey, based on the plexiglas computer's cube appearance.

Nick started his tech videos on a channel called bikegeekccp in February 2007. In 2009, Nick's videos started to gain popularity on KZread. C³ was moved to CubeComputerChannel in December 2009 and has grown dramatically ever since. Nick has been working on computers since 2005 and is CompTIA A+ Certified.

    Hi Nick, now that your water cooling is down you can take the fitting that is too long and cut it shorter. You need a bench vise and grinder. A welders shop can fix it in about a minute. Since you're not overclocking, I recommend a third party heatsink Sythe Mugen 5. I have 4 of them going including my main rig. When the fans speed up it's not very long. The upgrade you mentioned, the am4 5000 series cpu and board prices are getting better. Am5 is way too fast, unless you start serious gaming or video editing for Hollywood, am4 is probably the perfect setup for home computing. Water cooling and Murphys law!

    My main rig has a ryzen 5 4650 pro w/ b550 board, 64g 2666 ram, Samsung 980pro boot drive. I have been running Linux mint as daily os and windows 10 pro in vm. I used the license key from my old threadripper and have built win 10 into a serious virtual pc. I have 2 in 1 going quite often. If you upgrade to ryzen 7 5700g, loose the gpu and try the Mugen 5, I think you will be happy.

    What motherboard components can cause a computer to randomly freeze?

  • @CubeComputerChannel
    @CubeComputerChannel5 күн бұрын

    Failing capacitors is one... not as common with newer motherboards, but it was very common in the late 90s and 2000s for caps to fail. When they fail, they can cause instability, as if the CPU was running an unstable overclock.

    Anyone know if there will be (or has been) updates that will cause units with TPM 1.2 to lag or crash later? For some reason, Microsoft may include those to mess with systems they say aren't supported, and is focused on that damn TPM. My older laptop runs fine with Win10Pro, so until that OS is no longer supported next year, I'll wait to change it. I'd rather have Win11 on it, because I like it better on my newer laptop, but don't want to damage a good machine for relatively no good reason. If I knew it would update later with no issues, I'd do it. This is the best installation procedure I have seen. Outstanding!

    Now you will get the new nag screen that says since your computer isn't able to upgrade to Windows 11 you should buy a new computer! It's full screen, and has no option to Close it your only option is to click Remind me Later, believe it or not. And believe me in just a few days it will in fact pop up again (you clicked Remind me Later after all... and again that's your only option to close the nag screen, "Remind me Late"). Microsoft needs to have a class action lawsuit against them for this crap. Google Search for InControl and follow the directions on that app, it appears to stop ALL Windows 11 upgrade nag screens.

    my reusable k-cups worked great for many months but has now started to leak out the top, you can see the top lid pops open. Sometimes I can snap the lid shut and resume, but the machine pours really slow, dribbles. I think this might be my problem too, not enough pressure or seal at the top to hold it down. Has no issues with regular k-cups, only the reusable ones.

    I was looking into this because I found an old bookmark for the site. Now when you load the site, images don't show up a lot of the time, and when you click on an image it gives an "access denied" error. it appears it's slowly getting outdated to a point where it can't access the backend or something. i thought at 1st it was an issue with my browser, so I tried firefox, and the same thing happened. i do wonder who is still paying for the hosting though. your video was 2 years ago as of this comment, and the site is STILL going. according to some whois data, the registration was updated 2023-09-14. maybe someone died, which they were the sole administrator or something, and their bank account is setup to have automatic renewal? How long can that go on? i mean, obviously one part would be that hypothetical bank accounts emptying or closing, but....youd think that by now if it was somehow that someone died, that they bank account would have been closed by now. once i saw the images not loading, i didn't even THINK to add things to my cart. but, now when you try, you get a "this site can't be reached" and "ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" error. it was apparently based on yahoo, but its not the usual com, its a net, which you did see in the video. its so weird to watch a site slowly get outdated like this. i wonder what would happen in it just...kept going. what would it look like in 10 years if it's already having issues with image loading and you can't access the cart?

I plugged it in one day to see if it worked and it did, only off the power cord though, so the only thing wrong with it is the main battery and the CMOS battery for keeping the date and time as far as I know.

    Thank you for posting this DIY. I have a similar vintage Whirlpool which was leaving lint and residue. I had planned to tear down, clean the tubs and reassemble. Mine was stored in a dry room but is absolutely filled with caked on residue from fabric softener and stuff being left in p pockets etc Ive stalled as i can't get inner tub out. It looks like corrosion on the span but and drive block, lots of gunk and these have fused to the brake tube. I got the nut out with very heavy hammer force but tub is stuck. The tub is quite expensive and is a special order part so im debating if i try to do what you did and use an oscillating tool to cut or i may pull the whole transmission and motor out from bottom and try to pry brake tube out from bottom. Id need tube AND tub then, but maybe less headache. But at that price i need to think about just getting a new machine. I've sprayed penetrating oil into that tube and on block for a few days now and not showing any signs of budging. Thanks for the video. Real world conditions. 90% of the vids make it look like this tub just pops up with a bit of wiggling.

    @@Lazerbeam323ci Try to order parts from Amazon... sites like RepairClinic mark up parts big time. I paid less than $300 USD for the tub in mine. Have you used cleaners like Affresh? There's another product I've seen on Amazon like Affresh for cleaning residue out of machines like this. I believe there are a few other methods on getting the lock nut to free from the tub. I used the hacksaw route since the tub in mine was already done for and why I was in there to begin with.

    Regarding the Sanyo CG10 Dual Camera mod I am curious why a less invasive option was not considered. These Camera's came originally with an External battery attachment option. I have tried to find one but to no avail. if you look at the bottom left hand side of the battery compartment you see a Cable groove running from the battery to the external area. I assume that Sanyo had a Dummy Battery inserted into this location with an External battery lead running through this Grove to the outside. My thought is to gut an existing battery and wire it from these connectors of the Gutted Battery itself to the outside Extended battery without modifying any of the Camera housing or instigating any damage from the original. Would be interested in why it was not considered.

  • @CubeComputerChannel
    @CubeComputerChannelАй бұрын

    I did this mod specifically because I have a lot of bare 18650 cells harvested from laptop batteries and wanted to mod the camera to accept them. The 18650s, especially paired together in parallel, offer a significantly longer runtime than the original battery. The more high-end models such as the CG102 and CG20 allow for external power from a 5V source.
