    It's really useful and encouraging to watch someone else's process. I write so much more when using a notebook and pen as opposed to laptop because I can carry it everywhere and write a paragraph here and there in the "in between" moments. Then do the first edits as I type up later. All the best with your novel and love love love the idea of a writing livestream!

    Yes! I got the alpha smart too but another reason why I think those writing devices dont’ work for me is because I’ve just gotten so used to scrivener and having all my notes and documents for my story actually in my draft file. I’m so glad you enjoyed the vlog (:

    I got a keyboard case for my tablet for a trip a few months ago and I have loved it recently for writing. It's harder for me to be distracted on it since my headphones are usually connected to my phone already and thats an extra step. Plus I write in microsoft word/office365 in the dark theme so it's easier to focus on the writing. Congrats on your graduations!

    I'm with you on getting back into the story when I sit down to write. Especially if I'm really into a book or show and my mind keeps wandering to that. Finding SO much comfort in hearing someone else call out their needs (sensory etc) that are mine as well! It can get frustrating feeling like you're the only one with needs that others don't/can't understand. Last year I asked my husband for headphones for Christmas and they (along with an electric kettle) are now a necessity when writing. Even if I'm not playing lofi music in background just having them on now sets my mind into a more focused state. Thanks for putting it out there <3

  • @beccatobar
    @beccatobarАй бұрын

    I only recently recognized my sensory issues! for years i've been getting so angry or overwhelmed in public/loud spaces and couldn't understand why! while i don't wear my headphones out in public, understanding my sensory needs when i'm writing/working has been huge! i feel like i can finally focus!! i'm so glad this resonated with you 🥹🤍

    The curls are looking AMAZING! I am very much a pen-to-paper girly. I always have a notebook with me because the idea of sitting on my phone while typing out a story idea gives me an excuse to get distracted haha. My outline is done on paper and then transferred to my scrivener once it is finished and I have found it really helps when I do it that way. Big dinosaur lover here too, I will have to add seeing her to my bucket list! I completely understand the no motivation, I struggle a lot with motivation for home chores when I am trying to achieve other things. Still trying to find a way to boost it up so I can get everything done that needs to be done. I am at the stage where I have to remind myself that any progress is good progress 💚 I want to say a big thank you for talking so openly about your mental health and your struggles with it. You got this! YES! Jurassic Park is always my go-to dopamine movie 🤩 If I can feel a low depressy day coming on, I book a 'me, myself and I couch date', watching Jurassic Park/World marathon with yummy snacks and drinks (I usually have one of my notebooks with me too so I can do any idea jotting while I watch, so I still feel a little productive haha). I haven't read any of the Percy Jackson books yet. They are on my TBR and I do look forward to eventually getting to them. Another awesome effort on your word count! I really enjoyed the longer video and look forward to the next one 💚

I try to be super transparent about my mental health (and sometimes i wonder if i divulge too much) but i feel like it's really helpful to see that i'm a normal person with a TON of ups and downs. it's important to normalize it so i'm so glad that you found that helpful (: and the percy jackson books are so so so fun! i need to pick them up again asap! i'm so glad you enjoyed the video!💌
