I totally related when you said you jumped into this project and wished you spent more time plotting/planning. For that, I have this quote by Neil Gaiman: "Write down everything that happens in the story, and then in your second draft make it look like you knew what you were doing all along." -- in conclusion, YOU GOT THIS.

hi constance! oof great question. Shirley Jackson is a huge inspiration to me. I recently read the haunting of hill house and it was the first book i've ever read that genuinely left me wondering "what the hell did i just read?!" I'm still building up my horror book knowledge but I take a LOT of inspiration for movies and video games. Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities is a favorite of mine and i take a lot of inspiration from his work. some of the movies/games that have inspired my own writing are: Pearl Midsommar Hereditary IT The Haunting of Bly Manor Silent Hill (game) Resident Evil (game) The Shining what about you?☺

it is 100% worth the money. i have two other mechanical keyboards (one of which is also ergonomic) but i always find myself using this one. the slim keycaps on this keyboard and the ergonomic layout are a game changer for me personally. it's an infinitely more comfortable writing experience (: i think mine is the delux brand on amazon!

I don't why authors count their words writing, I don't do it, I only see my words count when I finish my book.

i think it's just a really nice way to track progress. while it's totally arbitrary and doesn't mean much in the end, i think for neurodivergent folks especially it's nice to see the number tick up. It's like "oh yeah! i am writing this, and it is growing, and i'm getting closer to my goal!"
