Totally unique soul and musician. He has been a major part of my life ever since his first records. I was blessed to catch their tour in 2014, the last time I saw Jeff live, which began in 1976 (!) Mountain Winery in Saratoga. Jeff played first then Z.Z., and he came out like here at the end of their set. Once in a lifetime ✨️ Jeff Beck is forever! 🕉 guitar 🎸 virtuoso.

I saw him rip a solo on Barbara Ann on a double bill with Brian Wilson...it was so great all I could do was laugh. It was insane, especially considering the one on the recording.

I knew of Jeff Beck in the 90s, never really cared of his playing untill I heard a song where he used the vibrato arm like he started usin a lot in the 90s!just the little bend at 3.53 minute mark is soo soulful!

Perfect ZZ tune for Beck’s mastery.

Jeff is in heaven now. But if you listen you can still hear him play as the wind wisps by. His genius playing will never leave your mind.

You lose faith in humanity and then, then you hear and see this. Pure beauty and love through the ears.

So absolutely devastated by the loss of the great Jeff Beck. A genius on the guitar, unique, and to me the greatest guitarist of all time. So difficult to process this sad news. Sending loads of love to Sandra, family, friends and millions of fans. Johnny, you lost a brother and close friend, my heart goes out to you, this is so painful. Jeff we will always miss you.

@@tersan8547 I noticed that too, one of the worst snare tones I’ve heard, toms sound like a muddled mess, cymbals even sounded like crap. Thinking a lot of it has to do with mic placement and drum mix🤷‍♂️

@@brad8189 He uses triggers. He's been doing it since the 80's and I think he still uses the same ones now as he did back then. At least it sounds that way. First generation trigger sound with absolutely zero dynamic range. Someone should tell him that it sounds absolutely terrible. It's hard to believe if someone hasn't. Also, someone should tell him he doesn't need a drum kit the size of an aircraft carrier to play in ZZ-top. It looks absolutely stupid. He would do just fine with a four piece kit. But..... he's probably just trying to compensate for the fact that he's a lousy drummer.

What a combo. I love Billy and ZZ…and I love Jeff Beck. Damn…

Rough Boy was never a so-called "hit" but IMO one of the best blues songs by anyone. And while Jeff is no longer with us and Billy's solo on this song has been a soulful classic all along, their two solos are so complementary. And personally, the mere fact that Jeff chose to play this particular song is a confirmation that it's a great one.

I saw Jeff in Greensburg Pa of all places..in a 1000 seat theater in probably 2015...the last stop b4 he joined up with ZZ Top to make up some cancelled dates down south..it was an amazing show..my bucket list gift from the gods..it was a New York moment it a lonely small town in Pennsylvania. Thats how powerful that man and his talent was..

I was there! ZZ Top never puts on a bad show.

This song was the perfect vehicle for Jeff Beck to casually do his thing… Billy Gibbons set the tone, and Jeff Beck added his own fingerprint towards the end. 👍❤️

I was eleven years old (1977) and about five pals and I finagled tickets to see Rick Derringer, Jeff Beck/Jan Hammer, and Aerosmith here in Seattle at the now vaporized Kingdome. Unforgettable.

Haven't heard Rough Boys in a long time and this is best ever. Beck is a great bluesman, when he's not doing fusion jazz.

Jeff is a guitar master, RIP!
