Grew up in SA. I am a life long Spurs fan. I have lived in Austin ever since college. I wouldn’t want the Spurs to move here, but I like that they have their G league team here and have a couple of home games here for the Austin fan base.

It's nice to get a couple of Home games in ATX imho. I find the homer articles about these games being some kind of anti-San Antonio move to be weird and hallucinatory tbh. You know how many games over the years Spurs fans like myself didn't get to watch in Austin b/c of "local media" blackouts? So we are and have been "part of the market" for years. Getting two games locally is fantastic! Arena is pretty dope, too. Was a much better experience to me than fighting all the I-35 traffic to get into SA for a "real" home game.

I agree, I love that the spurs are expanding their fan base to Austin as well as having some games out their to let the fans see them play in person. It’s great for the brand and maybe refreshing for the team. As long as the team stays in SA it’s all love lol

Wemby should win Defensive PLAYER of the Year award! It’s clear as day, the league just doesn’t want to reward a 1st yr player. The Team aspect is only included when there are several candidates in close contention but with Wemby, his numbers speak for themselves.

I'm so grateful. as far as who i'd keep, personally it would obviously be Wemby, Keldon, and Vassell. I love Vassell but sometimes I feel like he's a bit one dimensional and if the 3 isn't falling, he doesn't try to attack the rim as much as Keldon might. GO SPURS GO!

San Antonio & Austin are growing closer everyday... There's almost no space between the two cities. Nothing but suburbs and urban sprawl. I spend about 60% of my time in SATX & the other 40% in ATX... This whole area is a great place to live and work.

Everytime Wemby plays great i say to myself "can't wait to see Zs reaction" ... keep it up Z

Along with Wemby, I'm keeping Vassell and Sochan. Sochan gets a lot of flack, but his defense is elite, and he has come a long way offensively. Also Blake Wesley unless it's a return you can't pass up.

Wemby is a pure talent and is gonna do something special for years to come like he already is

Also as a San Antonio resident, San Antonio and no other city claims Austin as a real Texas city anymore. There's too many outsiders moving here specifically Austin so we don't really like that place. Tbh i'd rather they change the yearly Austin games to be Paris games to keep our franchise player happy.

Spurs fan here! And like some other comments I look for your videos after the game so I appreciate your content! You should react to a video of all his blocks at the end of the season cause they don’t show them in these highlights! He has 2 ugly ones on Claxton that led to a jumpball! As far as Austin goes it’s a cool city but idk if I would want to live there. Definitely a cool city to visit. I don’t mind the spurs playing there but it was a worry last year when they were tanking and people were worried about the spurs leaving SA but now that Wemby is here I don’t think that’ll happen. Tbh I’m keeping Wemby, Vassell, and Sochan. Sochan can be frustrating but I think it’s just him being young and him trying to do too much too quickly.

Lifelong Spurs fan from SA- The Austin games are ok with me. Just so long as it's only a couple/ few per season, I think it's fine for Austinite Spurs fans to get a chance to watch games in their own stadium since driving on I35 sucks. As far as who I'd take Other than Wemby, I'm almost tempted to throw Blake Wesley into the conversation with how his game is progressing, but I guess he makes honorable mention with Vassell taking Keldon's spot despite KJ's all-around utility. I wouldn't want to see either of them leave, necessarily. If anyone, I'd vote either Sochan, Branham or Collins off the bunch. Although, I think Sochan's boneheaded plays frequently overshadow the fact that he's kind of the glue-guy on the team.

Second comment here to address your question at the end. Austin has always felt like a little brother for San Antonio. And SA is as big as its ever been population wise. Its bigger than Dallas. Driving up to Austin doesnt take long at all and we love our G league team up there as well. Playing in Austin is about extending the Spurs footprint. Austin to Mexico City is Spurs country.

The Austin fan base is key to the spurs growing as a fan base and also making more money off of them, keep Vassel, keldon is inconsistent at times . Sochan will be a big piece in the future once he figures out his offensive game and moves.

As a Spurs fan living in SA for over 30 years they should have done this long ago... Austin is 1 hour drive away and a great market ... they have 0 pro sport teams and obviously love them some Spurs...

Austin is the capital of Texas. San Antonio is approximately 1 hr. away. The Spurs play a couple of games in Austin to keep Austin fans happy. Bus Spurs will never leave San Antonio. They are already in the works to build a new stadium in downtown San Antonio next to the Alamodome.

Wemby should get both dpoy and roty. As far as who i would wanna keep on the team alongside wemby, for sure vassell, keldon and sochan. Lot of people don't like sochan and i can understand why, but i can also see alot of the upside he has. Good potential. They'll grow into each other and get better with the chemistry.

It's very easy to say Keldon is the most obvious trade asset, but he is the ❤ of the team. Can't trade him imo.

I guess I have normalized what Wemby does already. The first half seemed ho hum but at the end of the game a half dozen insane highlights. Dad blocks, dad shots, isolations, assists and ice in the veins fourth quarter activity. Imagine when he and his team learn how to play. How many of them are 20? Austin is about an hour north and it is basically city traffic the whole way. In 10 years it will be one metropolis.

Spurs fan from Austin here. I hope they keep playing somewhere from 2-4 games in Austin. The city is close to San Antonio, so the vast majority of people who grew up in Austin are Spurs fans. Some San Antonio fans are worried the team will move - I don't think that was ever a valid concern. The Spurs are deep-rooted in San Antonio thanks to Tim Duncan, too much history there. And as an Austinite, I'm totally fine with that! Also that point where the Spurs closed the gap in the 4th - there was a Flagrant 1 on Dayron Sharpe fouling Sochan in a tumble. Sochan made both free throws, and then Wemby hit his 3. Cut the lead from 10 to 5.

It's truly bizarre that some fans (and writers) get truly paranoid about the team moving to Austin...not gonna happen.

Hey man, if 0.25x playback happens to be too fast, you can navigate frame by frame using [ , ] and [ . ] keys which go back 1 frame and forward 1 frame respectively.

I know highlights paint a narrative but his teammates pass the ball to him a lot. His usage is insane but because of his lack of strength sometimes he loses position before the ball is swung around the court to him or he does get the ball and is immediately triple teamed and passes out. Highlights dont usually show how often wemby misses passes to teammates on these situations. Theyre just young. The "just throw it up to wemby" crowd don't see how often they try but defenses are just waiting for those passes and pin him so they can tip it away. That's also why that final score happened because pop used they way the guard him by having him stand further out the paint allowing the paint to be undefended.

Also a Spurs fan in SA ... no chance in hell they move... that brand new 500million state of the art practice facility cements that ... let Austin have a couple games a year .. they've shown that they deserve it... those 2 games in Austin are probably the most attended games this year

san antonio fan here - i hate that the spurs are playing games in austin. i understand why they are doing it (staking their claim), but it stings a little because of persistent rumors of the spurs packing up and moving there. on paper, austin could be a more lucrative market if austin builds an arena. i absolutely do not want to see that. love your videos.

For the future I will definitely keep Vassel, Trey Jones (at least back up) and Sochan only if he progresses this summer and especially if he becomes smarter in the game, and especially repositioned as a Forward. So Sochan needs to improve his 3-point shot. can you tell us what you think of sochan? I have often heard debates with people who find him very good and that he has progressed this season while I find that even defensively he is not good at all except in 1vs1, but makes incredible mistakes on picks and roll, helpers. And on attack he only does weird things with his head down. But I still like his personality and he is very young, he can definitely progress a little in the style of kuminga.

Sochan is only 20 years old, asked to guard the best player on the other team no matter the position and came in to the nba with no offense game, he's already progressed. He didn't even play a full season last year with back issues as a rookie. Ain't no way you get rid of him.

@@cyrilleribeiro5030 the problem they found with playing 2 bigs is it made it easier to double and triple wemby at the early parts of the season. That's why they put wemby at the center and sochan at PF. They're trying to build him up into a boris diaw/Draymond green type. He just needs to keep working on his shooting but so does wemby as they're both only 20. The positions that needs to be addressed more is PG because no matter how hard Jones plays he doesn't attempt to find his own shot enough to pull defense away from wemby and he hustles but is too undersized on defense, everyone shoots over him all game. Then a playmaking wing to replace champagne who isn't a true NBA starter.

A perfect stretch 4 profile larger and much better than Sochan on shots, and which killed all the double teams on Victor. You have to play with someone in the high post and also capable of stretching the game at times. You saw Victor's passing game. It's the basics of basketball you need a player on the opposite side of the paint. When Player A is High, Player B is Low. When player A goes down, player B goes up. The spurs must pick Alexandre sarr in the next draft!

@cyrilleribeiro5030 you're comparing 2 different leagues with not only different rules but a shorter 3 point line. There is no defensive 3 second rule in the paint in France. While if available I do think the spurs would draft him there's a chance it wouldn't always work just like when Barlow is out with Wemby. A PG is needed first, however if there able to get trae young before the draft that changes things.
