Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

A look at chain maintenance and why it is important to take care of it. Always read and follow your owner's manuals maintenance schedule and use some common sense when working on machines. This is a brief review and not a detailed how to. I offer some advice and tips for newer riders.

Thank you for the great video!! I have the exact same bike, but mine has only been that clean- when it was at the dealership!! How do you keep yours so immaculate? What products do you use?

Edward Mack I just use auto shampoo on the shiny parts and a weak simple green mixture on calipers, the engine case underneath. Do not use a pressure washer! A gentle spray is all that's needed. High pressure blows water into bearings. This bike never sees rain and it's kept indoors. I lives a pampered life! Look in my ZRX playlist, I have a bike wash video.

cool i was wondering how that system worked exactly. didn't think about the chain streching differently throughout. also i havn't done many street bike chains. mainly just mx bikes they don't have anything like that axle.

  • @yellowbusguy
    @yellowbusguy12 жыл бұрын

The axle isn't crooked, its off center so that when you turn the gold part it will loosen or tighten the chain. Chains don't stretch in a uniform way so some parts are looser than others. There are matching marks on both sides of the swingarm so the wheel alignment can be maintained.

wierd axle set up. are there marks to set each side of the axle the same? if the axle i crooked isn't that what causes the chain to have tight and lose spots?

Good video but your axle adjusters (gold round ones) are in Upside down. I have 3 ZRXs so i can confirm this. That's why those notches are on the opposite side from the scribe marks.

Bernie Denis The adjusters are flipped to raise the rear slightly. This quickens and lightens steering noticeably and does not effect high speed handling. Give it a try.

Flipping the eccentrics is one of the best and easiest mods you can make. Really wakes up the handling.

hi dude, like 420homestead i hadn't thought of different stretch tensions, which part of the chain should I be adjusting to the upper or the bottom? when I've adjusted mine in the past I have always guaged it on the lower part of the chain but I have been having some issues on my latest bike! - perhaps its time to read that manual! keep it rubber side down! ;-)

You should adjust the chain based on the tightest section, regardless if it's on top or the bottom. Spin the wheel and check short sections until you figure out where the least amount of slack is. If that amount of slack exceeds the requirements ,then you need to adjust it. The reason being is if you adjust for the loosest section, the tighter sections will become too tight. Where you check the chain is irrelevant, above the swing arm or below it so long as you look at the full length of it by turning the wheel and repeatedly checking the whole thing.

I have the same bike. I tighten the chain and when I ride for a 1/4mile it has slack in it. I tightened to the 89 inch lbs specs. Not sure what I’m doing wrong

The chain should have some slack in it. It should not be tight.

Side stand, or ride height. You pick. This isn't rocket science.

I agree that the clutch lever is pretty stiff. You may try changing, (bleeding) the clutch fluid. It's the same procedure as brake bleeding and it may improve the feel. I've never lowered a ZRX, but I'd search The ZRX owners Association website for info on that. ZRXOA.

He's got the eccentrics flipped. The line on top (on the swingarm) should line up on the notches on the bottom of the eccentric.

doesnt that completely change the height and handling of hte bike? why would they do that? you would think that a slide that works would be more practical

  • @yellowbusguy

Don the Onion The chain adjuster only moves by the tiniest fractions of an inch when you make a change, so no, there is no change in handling.
