    What's the difference between ZOYI & ZOTEK? I couldn't find a zoyi website. zotektools.com/ is basic, with various small errors. There are many other brands of 102 that appear identical (Aneng, Richmeters, Mestek, etc.) [Of course, all taking their name and inspiration from Fluke.] Which are "real" vs "copy" vs "rebranded"? Are there unsafe copies or fakes out there? (I'm in Indonesia, where Zotek appears to be the most popular of the "cheap but not cheapest" multimeters and does have some online sellers claiming to be an official store.)

    I have the ZT109 ( ANENG AN8008 ) which is good for basic electronics. I like the review as well as the Zoyi ZT102A; however, they need to put bigger HRC fuses--when those tiny fuse blow, it might allow a high voltage spike to jump across the fuse holders.

  • @KeepOnTesting

    @KeepOnTesting

    Definitely agree! Those tiny fuses are way too small..and easy to arc over. I would rather see a resettable polyfuse on the mA side too.Input Protection is not its strong point a little more thought and it would make a big difference.

    Make sure you're in ACV mode..then simply measure the voltage and use the yellow select button to switch to Frequency and Duty Cycle. It should work. If not..the dmm is defective. BTW. I've been using these little DMMs for hobby and work for 3'ish years, IMO they're pretty damn good value. My only gripe with them for my use, is that they're not super great for _really_ low value accuracy, and the buzzer is a bit too anemic. If in a fairly noisy environment, it can be difficult to hear it. The thermocouple readout is whole numbers only, but honestly that's the accuracy of most common thermocouples too so, eh. And get a K-type to dual-banana plug adapter. Really improves usability with that kind of stuff. The probe plug spacing is "standard" so most such adapters on the market will will work.

    @@KeepOnTesting Still window shopping for the 5th. That one needs to be more premium: Full PWM support, faster polling, louder buzzer, more accuracy down low (ideally, good for shunt resistors down to 5mOhm,bit probably need a dedicated device for that kind of low-value accuracy), and have usb or low-latency bluetooth data connectivity. If you know of one that fits somewhat close to that, don't hold back ;)

    Not too bad - these displays are always nice, but always shorter battery life as they die quick where an lcd would still be useable. It has a better than usual auto range and shows improvement in this area, but cant see low mv, and a regular auto range where you select yourself seems to still be a bit faster. Nice to see it has a REL button and really good continuity, but when will they ever get rid of those lame mini fuses that no one seems to have, and if they do they want stupid money for em. One could install an auto reset on the mv and solve this easily. I notice this one has no relay like the Aneng version does, im taking that as an improvement - or a cheapo cost cut-lol Overall not bad for the price.
