The best movie about Zorro. This film was first shown in 1976 in the USSR in cinemas (I was 15 years old then). There were huge queues to get into this film. I still watch this cinematic classic from time to time.

I was around 11 years old in 1975. This Zorro film was a made for tv movie & actually was aired on the CBS network. I watched it when it first aired & just loved it! It would rerun again over the years; it literally is my favorite movie ever made! I never get tired of it! I also have the movie on DVD, too. Alain Delon was so handsome! He was my 2nd crush; the first one was Jackson Bostwick from the Saturday Morning Shazam Show. Brings back wonderful memories!

I was 10 when I 1st seen it also, I loved it also , as I grew up the song would pop in my head from time to time ,it was years until I seen it again…and when I seen it one day in the video store, oh my goodness I freaked out

A very good action-comedy movie. I remember watching this on TV way back then, and actually just watched it about 6 months ago.

KHJ-TV Los angeles. The last time it was shown was back in 85. I wanted this movie that badly that I bought it from Amazon.France. Very happy to see it again. This is probably the original version. I say this because there are small differences in this movie versus the one I saw.

​@@Dbusdriver71this is the original English language version, but it lucks the end monologue of Ottavia Piccolo, when her character is victoriously speaking to the happy free crowd. That scene was in some other versions of the movie. I'm not sure if it was in Italian, but it was surely there in the USSR one.

The best Zorro movie ever made. I discovered it in 2011 when I was alone at home and went through my mums DVDs, this was one she aquired in 2009 and I have wathced the film multiple times ever since, it never gets old!

aaahhhhh...Alain Delon...[deep sigh]...I need a bucket of ice water over my head...my hormones are totally out of control 🔥🌶️🌡️🥵🥰 ... didn't know this version of Zoro even existed...what a pleasant surprise 🫢 I was barely 5 yrs old, when I saw Alain Delon, instantly fell in love w/o even knowing what love is...despite my parents, family & friends teasing me w/ total amusement, I was infatuated & proclaimed he is my future husband once his wife leaves or dies... whatever comes first 😂🎶🎵 Thanks for the upload.

The movie was a huge success in Eastern Europe. It is made for the big screen. You have knights, horses, picturesque and luxury houses, sunny landscapes, amazing costumes, outdoor fights and many others.

Spaghetti Westerns, Blaxploitation films and Mafia crime films were popular cinematic genres during the 1970s offering something for everyone. Eastwood became an international star as the man with no name AFTER Terence Hill first became famous as the Man called Nobody. Naturally, Delon had to do Zorro as a Spaghetti Western for alot of money because by now his career was waning, having peaked in the 1960s, then again in his collaborations with J-P Melville (i.e., Le Samourai) & later as producer/star in films for his own production company with his repertoire of actors. This average movie is redeemed by the great Stanley Baker, member of an elite group of emerging actors of 1950s British Cinema including Robert Shaw, Sean Connery, David McCallum, Peter O'Toole, Laurence Harvey, Tom Courtenay, Julie Christie, Richard Harris, Albert Finney, Alan Bates, etc. This Italian version of the Spaniard Zorro offers nothing new, interesting or exciting except Alain Delon on/off horseback, swordfighting & defending those who can't defend themselves against the villainous Mexican officer, Stanley Baker. I'm glad I saw this movie because every tribute to Delon & to Baker -- two of my absolutely favorite actors -- quite sensibly leaves this movie out. It's neither memorable nor worthy of their talents. Delon looks tired from too much partying with the bags under his eyes in the closeups. Like I said, he & Baker -- who had fun overacting --were paid alot of money for this sub-par Zorro version. I prefer Tyrone Power's version.

Во Франции фильм вышел одновременно с американским триллером The Towering Inferno (Ад в поднебесье/Вздымающийся ад) со Стивом Маккуином и Полом Ньюменом, и очень сильно потерял в сборах. В Италии зрителей было гораздо больше. И в Японии. Но в СССР его за первый год проката посмотрело 54 миллиона человек! У нас не очень много фильмов с ним выходило на экраны, но этот оказался самым популярным.

Not bad and better than the Frank Langella version made around the same time (1975), which was basically a scene for scene remake of the 1940, Mark of Zorro with Tyrone Power, Alfred Newman score and all. That was and is still, the best Zorro film of all. This version has a good Alain Delon as Zorro, but what was poor old Stanley Baker doing in this...and that terrible song. Pity they couldn't have found a reputable film composer to write a good orchestral theme. The end sword fight is quite good.
