Ғылым және технология

It would be nice if we had a little more information on which instrument/telescope took which image. I assume the last one was acquired by interferometry? But yeah, great video! Quite a vertiginous dive that really shows the impressive angular resolution of our current telescopes!

Can You even imagine how would it be to be that close to a Star like eta Carinae so You can see it at its finest? We can se that there are many other stars around close to it, but it is incredible to think there is a tremendous void from one another. Universe is beautiful and misterious.

National geographic has a movie/documentary called "Into the milky Way" In it they show a map with 100 million stars with both their direction and velocities measured for accuracy, this movie isn't new so maybe it's even more at this point. Imagine an accurately plotted star chart of the local region wow.

Before 1850, Eta Car was an F-type star. It brightened up suddenly almost to match Sirius, then faded to emission lines. Now we know why.
@ngc-fo5te
3 жыл бұрын
It was never F type. It was just the nebula emission seemed F type. Eta itself is a binary with O or possibly WR components.
@RideAcrossTheRiver

@@ngc-fo5te Text I have states it was a type F before brightening suddenly and greatly, then vanished into emission lines only. Eta Car as a Main Sequence star was type O; then evolved to supergiant probably oscillating from type F to type K or M and back, then blew off its outer layer to become the current WR.
