Here is an audio comparison of the Zoom iQ7 microphone and the internal mic on the iPhone 6s Plus. On the Zoom, the mid-side (M-S) mode was used, with a width of 90 degrees set using the Handy Recorder app.

Sometimes seems that iphone 6s mic get better bass specially with the bass drum sounds a lot stronger, those iPhone mics are great also.
Great sound; do you have some settings you could share for recording live like that? Or some pointers...
The phone sounds better...the external mic cant pickup the bass or what? Is there a mixing option on the external mic and they cut all the bass...it sounds anemic compared to the phone by itself.

Great, thats told me what I need. I only have a 6s and I think it only records in mono.
Very strange, but there is less bass with the iq7.

The stereo sound is much better from the external mic. You need to put headphones on to hear the difference, not just play it from your smartphone speaker.
